If Trump loses and refuses to leave
RochesterRob replied to Kemp's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
A paranoid fantasy that you keep repeating. Consult a mental health professional at once! -
The same old same old. You are very shallow when it comes to humor and ideas. Even an earthworm could chug through that puddle and barely get his belly wet that is how shallow you are.

Doing business in NYC "Unsustainable"
RochesterRob replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And Cuomo is the biggest fool in all of this. He had the benefit as a citizen to see the effects in NYC following 9-11 and scoffed off the lesson which is companies can rethink strategies concerning NYC. That NYC is not a black hole where once placed that nothing can escape its event horizon. The man should be run out of NYS but will not be due to other gullible fools who will think "they (businesses) will be back." -
One reason why I think that the Dems kicked that can down the road this far. There were two ways to go with Hillary. Early and let her revel in the glory or late with plenty of chaos which will work to deflect criticism of Hillary. Biden's so-called talk of clearing the deck early for the VP lends credence to Hillary. It would convince the morons in the Dem ranks that a so called legitimate VP was backing up Biden versus Abrams which I don't even think that Tiberius would believe was a capable VP choice. Biden thought about nothing. He gets all his talking points via email from the DNC. Seriously.

Who is Your Favorite Classic TV Housekeeper/Servant
RochesterRob replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Coincidence that I read something most interesting and previously unknown to me until today about actor Ted Cassidy. Early in his career he was a DJ on a Dallas radio station and was on the air the day JFK was assassinated. -

He's not among your choices and I probably could not afford him even if I had a mansion but Alfred (Alan Napier) from Batman. I don't think that I have ever seen an episode of Hazel as much as it was talked about when I was a kid. If Aunt Bea can be a choice then so should Alice from the Brady Bunch who I would seriously consider. -
Prostitution arrest: Albany style

I've known a couple of people from Watervliet and would say that town is loaded with Walmart people. She probably could be a working girl there as hard as it is to believe. -
It's not always the first with a product but often it has to do with access (in this case a heavily frequented bar in The Anchor) and timing. Further, in this case animal breeding has an influence. Pigs, chickens, cattle have bred for decades to improve on the meat and minimize the fat. I remember chicken wings from the 1970's and there was little in the way of meat on the flat or drum so a "why bother" attitude surrounded the product. Compare a turkey for Thanksgiving from the 1960's (if you were alive then) and today. A lot more tender meat on the breast on average versus a couple generations ago. Back to wings even during my college years during the 1980's I would not say that the wings were generous in terms of meat versus today. One last thought. Charles Duryea? Who was he? Tick tock tick tock. Many credit him with being the first to invent the first practical automobile. Why is his name such a mystery today? He obviously was not on the track that Henry Ford was in terms of promotion and production. Goes to show that father time does not always give proper credit when it comes to commercial products.

Ok All You Flat Earth Idiots: Refute This, I Dare Ya!

Used to see Dr Sagan tooling onto campus from the Triphammer/Thurston/Wait area (North Campus) if I was walking to an 8:00 AM class when I was a student at Cornell. He even waved a couple of times as I am sure he did with any faces that looked familiar to him. He did not hang out with the students in general. A few Greek houses drew his ire because he was not into into blaring stereos in his neighborhood. One scheduled a mia culpa Saturday BBQ with him invited but he declined. -
Does the Federal Handout Disincentivize Work?
RochesterRob replied to RocCityRoller's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The 600 hundred dollars per week was a shotgun approach to a problem that most of our politicians regardless of party really did not understand. Having said that 600 dollars per week in WNY is excessive for menial work but in many major cities 600 dollars per week is just scraping by and that was one of the lenses that politicians did look through. I think that most realize that the gravy train will not run indefinitely and the pressure will mount to be looking for work ahead of any deadline for discontinuation. At the same time we are beginning to see that a fair number of businesses may not survive so more money may be needed to be disbursed. -
Your'e very desperate.

No, Putin loves YOU even though your attempts to gaslight people here has failed miserably.

More than an excuse. They wanted many more dependents on a welfare state to maintain their power. As to Buffalo Gal's statement concerning bankruptcies some businesses have to go that route as the debts most likely outstrip the assets. Income taxes to the Feds and state in a liquidation get paid before the creditors so that is most likely 30 percent less cash to pay debt. Being in bankruptcy reduces leverage in obtaining optimal value in selling assets. A business could be sitting in a good equity position prior to a bankruptcy but get caught in a bad position at the wrong time can wipe it pretty much out. I've seen it happen to car dealers and other business people.

GOP can’t win elections without cheating

Your shrillness is very obvious to all except you. The rubber room awaits you to start your journey towards good mental health. If you are good you may be allowed a free hand to ......relieve you of your stress....if you know what I mean. I feel sorry for the guy who has to clean that room. Power washer? -

What the heck is in the kid's hands. Looks scary. -
It's not going to be a thrill a minute. There are going to be lulls in this. But lets not kid ourselves. Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew are not going to be led away in handcuffs. Its going to be some middling riffraff that will do anytime. Clinton and the royal family at the worst will write some checks and still be on the designated flight for their weekend getaways. Take heart in that you know that this is eating Hillary up from the inside on out.

2020 Election is officially Trump vs Biden
RochesterRob replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
All Presidential hopefuls love, just love, to give their acceptance speech at their party's convention. So what is up with Biden. I know. Covid. distancing. can't take chances. blah, blah, blah. There is not going to be anybody there anyways and the place is already rented. So why not give the base the thrill that they await every four years. A LIVE stirring speech. Unless that is impossible for some reason............................................................................................................ -

More pole taking? Was this before or after the Dems decided a public appearance by Biden such as going to the convention would be lethal to their chances in November? Who is really the Democrat's Presidential choice? Abrams? Warren? Not too late for Hillary as soon as she suicides Maxwell. You love corruption.
