This whole board will hate me but I grew up in Philly and met MANY of the Flyers from 1973 and on forward. Yes those same Flyers who beat the Sabres for their cup. Funniest in game story at least for me....I was attending a Sabres Flyers tilt in the early 90's. Went to the Anchor bar beforehand and met a classmate of Lindros, I had my 88 jersey on. We all got rip roaring basted. Go to the game and there is this lady sitting in front of me. Lindros is playing his typical run the hell over anyone in his way game and basically making an ass of himself as I admitted several times to her. He FINALLY goes to the box middle of the 3rd as the Flyers are getting their cans handed to them. This lady stands up and start screaming at me like I was Lindros hisself!! After she sits down and calms down a bit I leaned forward and stage whispered in her ear "Lady - kindly point out Lord Stanley's banner hanging from the rafters". Her husband elbows her almost 2 seats over and screams SHUT THE EFF UP - he knows what he is talking about!!!! My buddies were all rolling in the aisles laughing, several people also shouted over for her to shut up and leave me alone as she was on me like white on rice from the drop of the puck and the first Lindros hit. Good times!!!!

Virgil - every time I see that avatar I CAN NOT take you seriously! Aside from that and unlike some others here I really enjoy your posts. You are honest and wear your emotions on your sleeve. I too am liking Beane more and more. If the Bills could ONLY help McD with his sometimes zany clock management skills - he seems to be improving with experience - and Josh makes the same jump he that did from year 1 to 2 this year should be very exciting indeed. Since I have move to FL I miss not being able to watch the Bills in person and on TV...now it requires going to a bar....expensive but I have met some cool Bills fans for sure!!! This is a snarky way to rebut your reply but it is what it is. Looks like Fish and Jests both improved (on paper). Jests and Fins came on towards the end of the season as the light was beginning to be seen. This whole Covid thing really resets all kinds of clocks in various starting places for all teams. Each and every fan wants to think oh well my team blah blah blah has the advantage. I hope you are right at 4-2......Pats are still going to be a tough W no matter who is tossing the pigskin. 11 wins would rock.....12 would be awesome. We shall see.
