  1. Tyler Wilson. He was awesome in the Senior Bowl too. But had baby hands.
  2. Somewhat agreed, but I do think it is important for a place like Buffalo. So I think those teams in those cold weather outdoor stadiums have to put a higher emphasis on hand size as compared to a team that plays in a dome or in California.
  3. Big , slow quarterback, with footwork issues, played in a simple system, has a weak arm and small hands? Sign me up for that. I never understood the love fest for this guy, and the hand size makes it worse in my opinion.
  4. This situation certainly seems like it has the potential to just completely blow up.
  5. Gaines got jerked around quite a bit in St. Louis and he is now in a place where people believe in him and with a scheme that really fits what he does well. I think the only way he doesn't come back is if someone offers him some ridiculous Gilmore type money.
  6. Fast linebackers. Smith and Jack are really good and can fly. Plus more pass rush helps.
  7. I think he's a good coach, I'm definitely down if he brings his dad Bill with him to coach the offensive line
  8. While I hear you, I do not think these moves condemn the team to non competitive play. Beane is focused on sustained success, and while our roster has holes, the core of the roster is pretty good. We have tight ends in Clay and O'Leary, our o-line is serviceable (Mills and Ducasse need replacements) and we have one of the best RB of all time. A healthy Kelvin Benjamin with a second year Zay Jones in the slot and FA receiver like Donte Moncrief gives a young quarterback enough weapons. This team lacks depth more than having glaring holes. Sustained success comes with a true franchise quarterback. It shows foresight and a future path. Signing AJ McCarron or drafting Mason Rudolph simply spins wheels and sticks on band aids. Is McCarron better than Tyrod? Is Rudolph better than Peterman? I just don't see it.
  9. If the board fell this way I would make one pick and trade down with the other. If we can't get up for a quarterback, it makes sense to either grab two immediate starters, or grab one player and trade down to gather more draft currency. Though I do like Payne and Jackson. My defense of DJ is that he thinks those teams will fill the QB position is free agency. Whoever gets guys like Cousins, Bridgewater, McCarron, maybe even Bradford, do not have to absolutely draft a QB. They still could, but they don't have to. Those guys are in their prime and going to require a significant commitment.
  10. While I do think Beane will find a way to get up to draft Rosen or Darnold, I do agree with you. Aside from probably Rosen, none of these guys should start this year. No one can really argue that Jackson doesn't have the most upside here. When I'm drafting a young guy to develop, he better be clearly better than Nate Peterman. I don't see that with Rudolph or Falk. Though I do like Falk and I see some Michigan Tom Brady in him. Again, not saying he is going to be Brady, but I like some of his traits. You have to move the needle, and to me, guys like Rudolph, Falk, Ferguson, White just don't move the needle all that much. Are they worth a 4th round Peterman-Cardale Jones flyer? Yes. Does it mean the QB conundrum is solved? No way. Jackson has a chance to be Michael Vick, or RG3. But he has some unbelievable athletic ability and I think he goes late one, early 2. I think this regime is only going to draft a Darnold, Rosen, Allen. Otherwise, I think they will pass on the quarterbacks this year. So I kind of feel it is trade up or bust. This franchise has really never drafted a high upside top prospect quarterback since Kelly. With the draft currency we have, the time is now to get that guy. If no trade up is available, you trade down and gather picks to move up next year. You can't force it.
  11. It really depends on who he gets as his OC. Daboll would have made sense for him, but we beat them to it. Its all about Mariota for that team. Their defense was already good.
  12. Thanks I didn't realize he went back. I like him a lot.
  13. I just don't think we are in a position to make him our starter. I think it makes a ton of sense for the Browns because Hue Jackson knows exactly what he is getting. To put the franchise in this guys hands just doesn't make sense. You better truly believe in him. I think it's much more likely we see an Alex Smith trade and trade up for Darnold/Rosen. That way you get your bridge and high end future starter. AJ McCarron is just spinning wheels again.
  14. I do not think it is a going to take a lot. I think Andy Reid is going to want to do Alex Smith right. He isn't going to trade him to the Browns. He also isn't going to trade Smith to the Broncos, an AFC West rival. I know that Brett Veach is their GM, but Reid pulls the strings. There is a ton of nepotism and insider trading in the NFL. KC will do us right because we did them right with the trade down last year and by gifting them Reggie Ragland. Brett Veach, Andy Reid, Sean McDermott all have close ties and all share the same agent. KC is looking for any excuse to trade Smith so they can move on to Mahomes. My guess is that this has already been sorted out and is going to happen in the near future. We just have to offer Kansas City something respectable so they don't look bad.
  15. If Cleveland takes Allen you want to trade up to three. Indy will be fielding a million phone calls.
  16. I agree with this sentiment. Some people were mentioning Petty as a late one, early 2 and he went in the fourth. I think Rudolph goes in the fourth. I just don't see it with him. I'm not sure what the appeal is here. I'm not drafting either of these guys in the first, but at least Jackson has some high end potential. Rudolph is big and put up impressive numbers...he's also slow, played in a simple offense, has shoddy footwork, and an ok arm. Like many have said, he is a bigger, slower Bryce Petty in my opinion. There are the top four that go in the first. I think someone sneaks up and grabs Jackson at the end of the first with the extra year option. I really think that Allen, Darnold, and Rosen are the only first rounders, but Mayfield will be over drafted and Jackson sneaks in the first round as well. Then I honestly think we wait awhile for Rudolph, Falk, Ferguson and such to go. Those guys are 3-4s for me. Just my opinion, but I'm having hard time with all the Rudolph love. I just don't get it. I actually like Drew Lock more than some of the second tier.
  17. Agreed not a fan of Adolphus at all. I just don't see it with him. It always looks like he is in slow motion. We need a 1 tech, a 3 tech and a MIKE. Those are pretty criticall spots in the middle of a front seven. I still like Kyle as a 3 tech, but I think he should be more of a part time player at this point.
  18. Thanks for this post and putting in the time and work. Good stuff. With the super high ceiling of Allen, the Browns picking him actually makes a ton of sense. He has the highest ceiling but is also probably the greatest risk. If you are Buffalo, you can't trade up for that guy. If you are Cleveland, you could go ahead and take that guy #1 because you also have #4. It's just not as risky when you have 2 picks in the top 5. Don't know if they do it, but they are in a position to take that risk. If Cleveland takes Allen #1, it pretty much guarantees Darnold and Rosen go next because someone will trade to #3. Cleveland then still gets the best position player in the draft, whether that is Barkley or someone else like Chubb. Makes sense actually.
  19. Great point! That where I am. Try like hell to get up for Rosen, Darnold. Otherwise let the board fall to us.
  20. Agreed and it's unfortunate because to me, they already have Josh Allen on their roster.
  21. I think that's a good comp. I think he can be Cam or Jake Locker. I think people need to be willing to put some time in to develop him. Cleveland should take Rosen or Darnold. Now if I'm Cleveland and I am going to pick Allen, I probably trade down and stick with Kizer. They have similar traits. Kizer is just five months older and has one year in the NFL under his belt. I was really impressed with how he was playing near the end of the season, but that's probably just me.
