  1. I was thinking about what that signing of L’il Dirty could indicate? I was thinking what other Bills major deals are all set , just waiting for noon announcements. Yesterday Brady announces he is coming back - well then Gronk is not going anywhere. And McKenzie indicates to me, all those other slot receivers we were hoping for, won’t be coming. McCaffrey as the Swiss Army knife = nope. still hoping for another couple veterans: a wideout hedging against Stephon or Gabe injury. And a RB upgrade from Breida. defensive side of the ball? I think still wide open…. any other ideas on what this signing means?
  2. Wow! This is very interesting technology. The fact that it is FDA approved lends credence to it’s effectiveness. This could be a game changer for reducing concussions in contact sports.
  3. I got to see Colt McCoy play this year, and he was solid when he stepped in. Of those QB’s discussed, I think he would be the best option from a “need to be able to win a few games” for the Bills. A high draft pick who has hung around as a backup. I don’t get the impression he and Kyler Murray are BFF’s , so there might be an opening to get him. no shade on Fitz, I just don’t think he physically could hold up for a few games - but I do think as a coach/player he would be great in the room.
  4. I like the James Conner RB idea. He has good receiving skills too.
  5. Maybe should have started with the list of Bills UFAs - and that the top 5 salaries, I am assuming, will not be back (Hughes, Addison, Butler, Sanders, Trubisky) - we have a ton of young DLs so not seeing any big FA signings there. - we probably need a Sanders replacement WR although Davis is now the #2 guy…. and several good candidates at reasonable costs were mentioned in the responses to the OP. I would look hard at resigning lil dirty McKenzie… - I think we need a kick a$$ running back and while Singletary is OK, we need another good one - as this position has so many injuries. -and a CB who could be our #1 for reasons like, what if Tre is not ready , or has lost a step, or we invest in an upgrade from Wallace. - I don’t know about signing a guard. The last couple games the Oline was good. Boettger the FA we sign?
  6. Looking at UFAs, as of right now. some of my rational: - area where Bills could use an upgrade. - under 30 years old - producing at a high level. - not the highest priced. - good availability (or have a reason why an oft injured or contract year wonder would be a good idea) RB: Leonard Fornette from TB. Formidable weapon running and catching. CB: JC Jackson from NE. Active. Lots of tackles and 8 interceptions. Inside LB: Kwon Alexander from NO. Good at rushing the QB too.
  7. Thanks for the shared insight. Other than that 3rd quarter , it was a great offensive game plan. I was just looking to see if I missed Knox getting hurt / shaken up.
  8. Early on Knox had a couple short receptions. Then poof ! He is gone and Gilliam is in there…no mention of an injury. Did I miss something?
  9. Wow, thanks for the complete listing. Overall More players than I thought. I know California and Washington state have high overall vaccine rates, mask mandates and socializing rules. So not surprised 49ers and Seahawks are low.
  10. Was just thinking that it seemed the Pats have had no one miss a game due to Covid or positive test. So I checked: they had one player on the practice squad who has been inactive and a player already on IR. just with the stink of already known cheaters, I am suspicious whenever the Pats have unusual trends different than the rest of the league. would not surprise me if they suppressed positive tests from vaccinated players…with no symptoms…
  11. Star has poor “ability” , the greatest is avail-ability. And he has none. fooled us last year - shame on him… fooled us this year - shame on us. prior to the start of the season there was concern that counting on Star to save the day on the D-Line , was all eggs in one basket. No moves to bring in another 1 tech…and then we drafted DLine, but no tackles??
  12. What do you think ? Takes over for wings, blue cheese and Labatts.... only true Bills fans would even get the joke...LOL.🤪
  13. I loved this analysis of the KC game! Like many I was stumped by the initial tight grouping… and Kumerow was in there? and Sweeney and then Gilliam in H back, and McKenzie in the backfield...reading this and seeing the replays and diagram, I now see so much more and the light went on. the guy is also excited about the Bills. As was pointed out - some may be over exaggerated, or not exact statistics - but it made this also a fun read. Yes I recommend even those who aren’t X & O fan types should read this one. Just amazing!
  14. I see Clowney near the top of the list. There was debate on this board as to: was he worth it or not...
  15. Weather for Sunday night in KC is 60 % chance of rain, temps in the 60s, and 5 -10 mph winds. Old time football weather!
  16. I know he is supposed to be a freak of nature, and using all natural diet & supplements ...but I often wondered if Brady is just one step ahead of the NFL illegal substance bans? Will he end up being the Lance Armstrong of the NFL, once all his “homeopathic” treatments are disclosed, as banned PEDs in the future...
  17. I expect the defense to be much better. More lopsided wins where teams don’t score many points on us. 12-5, win the AFC East. Defense gets hot- shows up big in the playoffs, and we win the Super Bowl!
  18. In the goal line stand video: interesting that Edmunds was blocked out of the play and the runner was headed right for that hole. Luckily Klein crashes down , with Poyer right on his tail to make the stop. Star rag dolling the lineman was fun to see. Also Oliver stood up his man and was holding the edge. note that Milano also got blocked out of the play ( couldn’t get off the block) - Star and Ed held up that center and left side, denying running lanes - so that wasn’t an issue.
  19. Virgil, thanks so much for doing your write ups. It is great to have a detailed assessment from someone else’s viewpoint. We are all watching the same game - but often seeing different things. And with a sense of humor thrown in.
  20. I have been back to Buffalo on several occasions and found the downtown canal side area to be a wonderful addition. Putting a domed stadium would allow year round enjoyment for things other than the Bills - like a first rate concert venue, trade shows, etc. Extended light rail could deliver fans to the game. Being tax dollar built- I hope the region thinks bigger than just the Bills games. But agree it needs to be a first rate football venue. An open air in OP seems to be short sighted to me, think BIG Buffalo.
  21. Agree that Hughes missing camp reps is not a problem. Hope he recovers completely in time for the season opener.
  22. Domed stadium downtown please. I was never a fan of downtown location, but with recent canalside events I could see that being a whole different experience down there. And the domed stadium would become a venue for many more events. Think trade shows, concerts, heck Buffalo would even be in the running to host a Super Bowl someday.
  23. Was fun to see the posts on this one. Looked like Josh had fun too. He One hopped it. Like so many - throwing from a mound: that step downhill throws off your normal throw and causes the release angle to be down into the dirt. I was hoping Josh, having been a pitcher (way back when), would have overcome that. But throwing on a flat football field and working the last 3 years on his mechanics. I am sure his muscle memory of baseball pitching is gone.
  24. Oh yeah, if I recall: a signing bonus is paid up front, but as far as cap book-keeping it is spread over the length of the contract?
