  1. my mock draft and how they did: Note: mine was a trade like crazy and swing for the fences with first 3 picks. sweat would have been the home run. Legette = Coleman. Others meh. Beane and Co definitely got a lot more depth contributors. T'Vondre Sweat - Rd 2 , Titans. T’Vondre Sweat surprised many when he refused to weigh in at last year’s Senior Bowl and disappointed everyone when he was arrested for a DWIjust weeks before the draft. Many figured the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year would suffer a slide down the draft board. But early in the second round, Tennessee pounced. Having flown out to meet with Sweat and his family a week before making the selection, the Titans felt confident investing in the 6-4, 366-pound defensive tackle. Sweat rewarded the team’s faith in Year 1, piling up 51 tackles as a run-stuffing force while increasingly pushing the pocket into the quarterback’s lap as the season transpired. Troy Franklin - Rd 4 , Denver, Played in 16 games, 6 starts. Caught 28 of 53 targets. 2 TDs (including 1 against Buffalo). Contrast with Coleman who played in 13 games and caught 29 of 57 targets with 4 TDs Xavier Legette- Rd 1 , Panthers, Played in 16 games caught 49 of 84 targets with 4 TDs. Xavier Legette certainly doesn’t lack for raw athleticism, but the receiver struggled to corral the football, most memorably in the near-upset of Philadelphia. Beau Brade - UFA with the Ravens. Got action in 2 games. A non factor Joe Milton - Rd 6 Patriots - After Maye, the two most promising returns from the rookie class probably came from a pair of reserves: undrafted safety Dell Pettus and toolsy backup quarterback Joe Milton III. Nelson Ceaser - undrfated, unsigned, played in USFL Bills Draft: Keon Coleman, WR | 13 games/12 starts, caught 29 of 57 targets with 4 TDs. The biggest pre-draft question about Keon Coleman was whether he could separate at the NFL level, with his 4.61 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine only furthering concerns. His supporters countered that separation knock by touting his contested-catch ability, but he struggled in both areas as a rookie. His inability to separate was clear to the naked eye but also underscored by a number of Next Gen Stats metrics. Meanwhile, Pro Football Focus charted that Coleman received 19 contested targets and caught just seven, giving him a subpar conversion rate of 36.8 percent. Frankly, following a November wrist injury that sidelined him for a month, Coleman struggled to find a connection with Josh Allen on any sort of pass, catching just 10 of his 29 targets over the final seven games (playoffs included). Cole Bishop, S | 16 games/4 starts. Cole Bishop played decent in spot duty at safety, racking up a team-high 10 tackles in the AFC Championship Game. DeWayne Carter, DT | 11 games/3 starts. Played in the DL rotation. 11 tackles, 3 assists, Showed some promise Ray Davis, RB | 17 games/0 starts. provided some juice in the backfield. 113 carries, 442 yards, 3 TDs. Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, IOL | 16 games/1 start , good depth. Did not look out of place when he played. Edefuan Ulofoshio, LB | 4 games/1 start , decent depth, 5 tackeles, 1 assist. Javon Solomon, DE | 14 games/0 starts , decent depth 9 tackles, 4 assists. Tylan Grable, OT | 4 games/1 start , decent depth. Did not look bad when he played. Daequan Hardy, CB | 0 games/starts Travis Clayton, OT | 0 games/starts Notable free agent signee Joe Andreessen, LB | 13 games/1 start , surprisingly decent depth, 12 tackles, 14 assists Notable trade addition Brandon Codrington, CB/RET | 17 games/0 starts (acquired from NYJ). A steal! 11 KO returns for 306 yards, 11 for 20+ yards. 27 Punt returns for 313 yards, 4 for 20+ yards. how did others do?
  2. Seems like a lot of consensus that these are the priority areas we should look at in FA speed receiver big run stuffing DT Safety
  3. Free agents that seem like a good fit, price/ talent/ age; to fill the few roster holes with vet players one BIG splash signing: Tee Higgins CINCINNATI BENGALS WR At 26 years old, Tee Higgins is in the prime of his career. He has been the No. 2 receiver in Cincinnati but now has his chance to show he's a true No. 1. He is big and coming off a season with 10 touchdowns in 12 games. His market will be robust… Then some value players: Divine Deablo LAS VEGAS RAIDERS LB This 27-year-old has made a nice transition from college defensive back to NFL linebacker. He is naturally good in coverage, but he also has the speed to chase down plays in the run game. Injuries have kept him out of games at times, but he is worth a look for teams seeking a speed upgrade at linebacker Jeremy Chinn WASHINGTON COMMANDERS SS Jeremy Chinn took a one-year, prove-it deal with the Commanders and was a big part of their improved defense. Chinn was much better in coverage than he was in Carolina in his first four seasons. That matters. He turns 27 later this month Elijah Molden LOS ANGELES CHARGERS CB The Chargers traded a seventh-round pick before the season to land Elijah Molden. He paid off in a big way, giving their secondary some veteran stability on the back end. He did suffer a broken fibula in Week 15, but he should be a go for next season. He just turned 26. Chauncey Golston DALLAS COWBOYS DE Chauncey Golston is coming off a career-best 5.5-sack season to head into free agency on an upward note. He is a big-bodied edge who is just 26, which is why there should be a market for him. He played 72% of the Cowboys' defensive snaps last season. D.J. Jones DENVER BRONCOS NT This 30-year-old has been a reliable starter in both of his stops, first with the 49ers and then with the Broncos. He's a good run player who can occasionally push the pocket. He isn't going to wow anybody, but he gets the job done Speed receivers: Darius Slayton NEW YORK GIANTS WR Slayton is a speed receiver, and we know a lot of teams need help in that area. Slayton's numbers were down last season, his sixth with the Giants, but that had a lot do with Malik Nabers showing up, along with bad quarterback play. He'd be a nice third receiver for a team. He just turned 28, so he's two years away from the dreaded age of 30 Dynami Brown WASHINGTON COMMANDERS WR This speed receiver finally started to live up to his draft hype late this season. He had 30 catches during the regular season, but then had 14 and a touchdown in three playoff games. He is 25 Marquise BrownKANSAS CITY CHIEFS WR Hollywood Brown missed most of 2024 with a shoulder injury, but did come back down the stretch and the playoffs. He did some good things in the postseason, but was a no-show in the Super Bowl. He is a speed threat who turns 28 in June

  5. so what innovative defensive alignment might the Bills use against this “heavy” Ravens group? Maybe: 5 DL, 3 LB, 2 CB, 1 safety ?
  6. Sorry to see him take that hit. Was thankful he could walk to the locker room. Josh seemed genuinely upset because of the over thrown ball. hope he makes it back for the playoffs.. I know this board usually has the info first.
  7. Maybe name him assistant head coach / OC , to balance the defensive mind of McD? would that keep him here? then Kromer could be assistant OC / O Line coach? bump them up a notch in the org, and prestige…
  8. The “Dirty Bunch” formations with pre-snap movement! Have been seeing it work, and this is a great explanation of why it works. and also why KC is so efficient too! Now we need McDermott , our defensive genius, to figure out how to counter this trend… AND oh yeah , be ready for unicorns like Henry and Barkley who are still the power runners.
  9. Reminds me of so many games during the drought years 🙄
  10. He was a member of the Bills for a bit. I recall him getting some buzz in preseason, but lost track of him. Nice to see he is still in the league and getting a chance to play.
  11. Von Miller looking old and slow while Maye runs past him
  12. I am so not good at picking these. Last week I was ragging on Oliver gonna be invisible …and he showed up… Patsies OL is suspect so Bills DL and our best one is Groot! Maybe Ed makes me eat the leftover pieces of the crow (feet & feathers)🤮
  13. Activated OL Tylan Grable from Injured Reserve. Released DE Casey Toohill. Signed WR Jalen Virgil to the practice squad. Signed OL Will Clapp to the practice squad. Released DE Kameron Cline from the practice squad. Released DT Branson Deen from the practice squad.
  14. I noticed that definitely on two plays - he was maneuvering to use his good arm for the tackle - and was ineffective. hope he returns to form, but yesterday he did not look good.
  15. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/sean-mcdermott-s-victory-speech-vs-detroit-lions Man they found a way to win with the defense becoming second / third string.
  16. Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young is just cr*ppy.
  17. I know folks like Babbich, but are there thoughts that the D’s poor performance is on him? lack of creative pressure: stunts, etc on DL, safeties blitzing, man coverage.. I have heard and agree the buck stops with McD but the coordinator is the planner and play caller (for now)
  18. “Impact player” will be Ed Oliver - who will be totally invisible, nothing on the stat sheet at all this game. Will be run over and blocked out - and be the key reason the defense gets steamrolled and the Bills lose…☹️
  19. Already tired of seeing Von Miller standing around! he needs to sit.
  20. I hope she shows up at this game. rocking a 17 jersey - The new queen of Buffalo. to see Groot and Cook star in this win
  21. Nice! Hope that psych’s him up for the rest of the season
  22. For those of you who do more analyses / are better observers: how was the D Line rotation yesterday? Rousseau looked good - as always - A grade? AJ Epenesa - only noticed him a couple times - like I usually do - grade B- I noticed Von a couple times. He got some good pushes, some whiffs, and that bad Offside call. A C- grade? Some slack for first game after 4 game rest… I saw Toohill and Ankou got time, but overall how did they do? Jones? Smoot? Oliver? TIA
  23. That was the DC (Ryan) taking it to the OC - Kevin Gilbride , for the “Run and Shoot” offense that was not giving the D anytime to rest. If I recall Buddy called it the “chuck and duck”….LOL
  24. I was thinking the same thing. Came up holding a shoulder, and i didn't see him in after that.
