Hard to say if Polian could have found a better kicker at that time. As laid out pretty clearly in this article from a few years back, the quality of kicking has improved dramatically since circa 1990 so comparing Norwood and his peer group to a 2015-2019 kicker isn't really appropriate: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/kickers-are-forever/

Salary Cap Freeze effective 4Pm today
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Players tend to say good things about new team owners, coaches, players and fans after signing large contracts to play there. Take what you will from such things. -

Salary Cap Freeze effective 4Pm today

The Bills made Morse the highest paid Center in football. But you think the reason he signed with the Bills was that he'd rather play with Josh Allen vs. Patrick Mahomes? Alrighty then! -

Cool in what way? I mean, it's cool to us homers on TBD but I seriously doubt living in Buffalo and paying NYS taxes has become cool just because the Bills are a wild card team two out of three years. -
Rumor Roethlisberger done with Football
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to Franchiseneedsme's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The other thread is about Ben retiring from futsal. It's entirely different. https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2019/12/23/report-roethlisberger-wants-to-play-in-2020/ Actually, it may only be futsal. This article says he's committed to football. -
Why did they get away from the slant?

This. Daboll was scared most of the 2nd half. -
No facemask call on Josh's 4th down run.

At least a few eyeballs might be on the ball carrier on a QB sneak. -
Brian Daboll has no future here

More accurately, the Bills have no future with Daboll here -
Improving the O right now.

Saints and Chiefs just put in waiver claims on guys they expect to contribute immediately...they are tinkering trying to get better. It's a Darwinian game...need to keep evolving each week or fall behind. -
Great anticipation but I feel like if the camera angle were truly down the line (this one is situated behind the offense) then it may show he was into the neutral zone before the ball had moved. I mean, I can't tell for sure but in any event it was so close I can understand the call. (I was in the stadium, right in front of that play and it sure looked off-sides live).

There were 4 before Rauch, although one of those was Lou Saban in his first tenure with the Bills. My fandom started with Jim Ringo, I do not recall being aware of Lou Saban as coach even though I guess I was a fan already (at 6 years old ? Only Levy and maybe Saban (if you include his earlier stint when they won 2 AFL Championships) are in the class of any of the three Steelers coaches for accomplishments. Let's hope McDermott gets there!

Would we sell out a home playoff game?
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fans were very spoiled back then after all the years of home playoff games. And the economy was pretty bad in WNY at that time so paying the higher price to fill the 80,000 seat stadium before the era of Stubhub was not so easy as today. in 2020, opposing team fans would soak up the remaining tickets in any event. -
Edmunds rankings in the NFL among LB's through 13 games: Tackles: 17th (tied with one guy) Sacks: Tied with many for 75th with 1.5 Interceptions: Tied with many for 14th with 1 Passes defensed: Tied with several for 6th with 9 Credited with a safety Not credited with any forced or recovered fumbles yet this season. I'm hoping next year he can start to impact in more 'game changing' ways with more picks, sacks, and forced fumbles. That heads-up pick of Lamar Jackson being a great example. Heck, maybe in the next 3+ weeks.

Week 15: Bills at Steelers on SNF
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Steelers just changed to color rush all black...5-0 for them in this uni, if you happen to think that matters (I doubt it). http://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GUD/controller/controller.php?action=weekly&year=2019&week=15&league=NFL -
Edmunds makes some great plays and still has a ton of upside. Acknowledging he is still, at times, slow to recognize the right gap to hit and make the play in the middle of the field is a fair point. If you are old enough to remember watching them, think about Edmunds play in this one area (plugging the middle) compared to Fletcher, Spielman, or Conlan. It's not even close yet. The point being if he is to become truly all-world MLB so to speak, he needs that aspect to his game. It may come.

Buffalo vs Pittsburgh Red Towels
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to CowgirlsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going to the game and not even going to wear a Bills hat. Those Stillers fans will have been drinking all day. Anyone who waves a red towel essentially mocking their beloved terrible towel in their own building is asking for trouble. I mean, if you are a super bada** and that's how you roll, go for it. But this middle age guy is there to enjoy an exciting game with my friends. -

Watching the hi-lights of one game is really a sound basis for expert analysis. Thank you so much. -
Gore vs Yeldon

It's not really NE hate so much as they are not a good offense this season. But I get your point. -

Let's mimic an offense other than New England's this year.
