Improving the O right now.
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to peterpan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Saints and Chiefs just put in waiver claims on guys they expect to contribute immediately...they are tinkering trying to get better. It's a Darwinian game...need to keep evolving each week or fall behind. -
Great anticipation but I feel like if the camera angle were truly down the line (this one is situated behind the offense) then it may show he was into the neutral zone before the ball had moved. I mean, I can't tell for sure but in any event it was so close I can understand the call. (I was in the stadium, right in front of that play and it sure looked off-sides live).

There were 4 before Rauch, although one of those was Lou Saban in his first tenure with the Bills. My fandom started with Jim Ringo, I do not recall being aware of Lou Saban as coach even though I guess I was a fan already (at 6 years old ? Only Levy and maybe Saban (if you include his earlier stint when they won 2 AFL Championships) are in the class of any of the three Steelers coaches for accomplishments. Let's hope McDermott gets there!

Would we sell out a home playoff game?
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fans were very spoiled back then after all the years of home playoff games. And the economy was pretty bad in WNY at that time so paying the higher price to fill the 80,000 seat stadium before the era of Stubhub was not so easy as today. in 2020, opposing team fans would soak up the remaining tickets in any event. -
Edmunds rankings in the NFL among LB's through 13 games: Tackles: 17th (tied with one guy) Sacks: Tied with many for 75th with 1.5 Interceptions: Tied with many for 14th with 1 Passes defensed: Tied with several for 6th with 9 Credited with a safety Not credited with any forced or recovered fumbles yet this season. I'm hoping next year he can start to impact in more 'game changing' ways with more picks, sacks, and forced fumbles. That heads-up pick of Lamar Jackson being a great example. Heck, maybe in the next 3+ weeks.

Week 15: Bills at Steelers on SNF
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Steelers just changed to color rush all black...5-0 for them in this uni, if you happen to think that matters (I doubt it). http://www.gridiron-uniforms.com/GUD/controller/controller.php?action=weekly&year=2019&week=15&league=NFL -
Edmunds makes some great plays and still has a ton of upside. Acknowledging he is still, at times, slow to recognize the right gap to hit and make the play in the middle of the field is a fair point. If you are old enough to remember watching them, think about Edmunds play in this one area (plugging the middle) compared to Fletcher, Spielman, or Conlan. It's not even close yet. The point being if he is to become truly all-world MLB so to speak, he needs that aspect to his game. It may come.

Buffalo vs Pittsburgh Red Towels
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to CowgirlsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going to the game and not even going to wear a Bills hat. Those Stillers fans will have been drinking all day. Anyone who waves a red towel essentially mocking their beloved terrible towel in their own building is asking for trouble. I mean, if you are a super bada** and that's how you roll, go for it. But this middle age guy is there to enjoy an exciting game with my friends. -
Pittsburgh is going to be Fun

Watching the hi-lights of one game is really a sound basis for expert analysis. Thank you so much. -
Gore vs Yeldon
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not really NE hate so much as they are not a good offense this season. But I get your point. -

Let's mimic an offense other than New England's this year. -
No Defensive/Special Teams Touchdowns
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to wiseman3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No kidding this is driving me nuts. He cost the Bills 5-10 yards of field position on a couple of kickoffs vs. Baltimore. I am not exactly "concerned" about the lack of ST or especially defensive touchdowns, but I do think it calls into question Roberts value to the team. He had one nice kick-off return and is clearly adept at fielding punts and picking up a few yards. So it's not like he's made egregious mistakes, but to hold down an active roster spot without contributing on offense at all, he needs to do more. -

That Duluth team was outstanding. -
Would McDermott entertain a Charlotte offer
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to Paul Costa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's under contract with Buffalo. If they want to trade a couple first rounders for him... -
Joe Cribbs = Devin Singeltary
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to Stallions's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent comparison. Singletary is like Sanders in the same way that a single engine Cessna is like an F-16. Yes, they both fly and can carry a passenger. Don't get me wrong I like Singletary but let's not get carried away here. -
Bills @ Cowboys, Thanksgiving Day - 4:30
Bob Chandler's Hands replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ravens look dynamite but there's a saying about "any given Sunday" which is the reason they don't play the games on paper but actually strap 'em on and man up to find out who will win. Lots of things can happen with special teams plays, injuries, defensive scores...let's see how it goes. -
The jet lag will create significant challenges to visiting teams and for the London team on the road. West Coast-London in particular will be noticeable. Flying in Business Class and managing sleep and so forth makes it tolerable, but the brain and body can't be fooled. It takes close to a day per hour time zone change to adapt to the local timezone. 6 to 9 hours of time zone differences can only be overcome...maybe...if the visiting team departs for London on Monday for a game the following Sunday. I'm not an expert on this by any means but I have flown to Asia and Europe well over 100 times, read plenty of books and articles on it, spoken at length with co-workers doing the same thing, etc. Playing a sport at the highest level will expose even small gaps in physical and mental preparedness and energy levels IMO. Not sure if the NFL will care about this. The NFLPA might but probably can't (or won't) stop it from happening. Maybe it will be a bargaining chip to eliminate the Thursday night games which seem inhuman to subject players to that abuse a mere 4 days after the prior game.

Not sure, but for reference the Buffalo and Rochester MSA's combined are 2.1M people whereas Portland-Hillsboro-Vancouver, WA MSA is 2.5M alone. It's surprisingly big. Only one NBA team for major league sports competition. I looked up median household income and it's roughly 40% higher in Portland vs. Buffalo (just for comparison purposes). Mo' money...
