Again people..... This is the first year of a REBUILD
Bing Bong replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's where I'm criticizing and ceding to sticking with Beane since he threw his weight into this project that only he can get us out of. Not ecstatic about the roster which is where I begin to wonder how another GM may have fared in the project.. outside of my JA optimism. But he's the only guy with a vision to finish this 3 years in Nobody wants to pick up a rebuild half baked. -

We'd have to start from the beginning here bud. 2017. Not picking up from Beane's mid term plan. That's why we're stuck with him because he made this roster with any clue on how to get it out of the dumps. -

I friggin hate "trust the process" "Don't fire me for 4-5 years! You don't know what's brewing up in my plans yet!" = "Trust the [whatever a rookie GM/Coach is doing]" Not that I'm for canning one of the 2 (seems like I'm becoming the minority in favoring McD over Beane giving him crap to work with). But I'd start giving serious consideration if we are in fact not appearing to be drafting and otherwise acquiring talent well by next year -

Not all rebuilds Bob! We gotta be hitting more on building part. I wasn't here for the late 80s Bills rebuild but I'm fine with JA we need to start hitting some future HOFers, grab some Thurman's and Bruce's if we're going to keep making this comparison. I'd feel more comfortable if our draft trade ups outside of JA were hitting more. I think we'd all agree if this rebuild is showing signs of improvement we gotta be a much improved team every year going forward. And we're not improving over the course of the season outside JA's post injury performance (with me optimistically ignoring the outliers.. he played some damn good games to warrant excitement) feels like. -

Duh. I'd like to see a better rebuild than meets the eye. And maybe there is one. But saying "reminder. We're supposed to suck" gives no indication of how we'll turn it around. -
They need to somehow constantly simulate Foles into a back-to-his wall savior of the franchise type lol. He always seems to have a case of the amazing string of games hang over coming into the next year before turning on the jets when the chips are absolutely against him Very strange Quarterback but he's played enough mind blowing games to warrant franchise QB status at Eagles or elsewhere. Good god he's been unbelievable last season and late this season. I honestly think he's the best possible backup Quarterback you can ask for (with Fitz behind him). And should be treated as such by the Eagles or any other team with an injury prone QB. possibly the GOAT... sorry Barkley. Win us a SB first please.

Dolphins podcast brought up Wilson is the number 1 target if Seahawks don't resign him. Hated to break it to my Dolphins friends he ain't leaving Seattle. Crazy they haven't re-signed him though (if even true) that would have to be the biggest FA franchise Quarterback to hit the market since Peyton and removing injury concerns the biggest FA QB in his prime I can think of EVER. Ain't happening. But then again. Apparently hasn't signed yet Edit he's under a bargain contract he can opt out of this off-season if no extension is made. Hawks playing a dangerous game unless Wilson stays for a home discount he's certainly underpaid reaching an opt out point on his contract.

See Juju's fumble last play against the Saints. Is this not supposed to be advantageous to the defense if they play the whistle?? However I can see the point of above that it's dangerous for defenders to keep tackling a man that's going down. Hold him from being down by contact and strip away until forward progress is called. You don't need to head hunt him there but don't let him get up either.

All the Carolina signings, why did they not sign C.J.?
Bing Bong replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well there's also quarterbacks and WRs. Corners and safeties, corners and pass rush, quarterbacks and OLine. linebackers and DL, running game with a passing threat, passing game with a running threat. Team sport. The guys that can make any RB good or the RBs that look good behind any OL are the better players in this league.. -
What is a high ceiling player in the NFL?
Bing Bong replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We associate ceiling with risk. Nah.. high ceiling players don't always need to have us praying on them panning out. LVE has a higher ceiling than Edmunds because of why shouldn't he right now? LVE has a better chance of improving than Edmunds does a chance at playing probowl caliber LBing in a year or 2. Being young makes him more risky, doesn't automatically make his ceiling higher than other guys that weren't in the NFL at his age. -
You're supposed to strip the ball when you got the carrier stuck like that. It's like the only way to have a ball carrier stuck for you to strip without that darned forward progress rule. Saints made a helluva strip tackle to end the day on the Steelers yesterday and it went similar to that. JuJu wasn't down and his back landed on the tackler who ripped the ball out. Just play to the whistle.. well coached teams etc. I think it's an advantagious position for tacklers that aren't being dummies.

Week 16 Bills at Pats Postgame Postmortum
Bing Bong replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I accept we suck. That we've made decisions to suck. I'm not sold we're rebuilt. And that we've made decisions to be rebuilt and good before 2021. I'll check about that next year. But no that's not a reality that we've shown we've successfully rebuilt and are going to be above 500 next year or the year after. Lotta holes to fill and rebuilds are supposed to fix that. -
Week 16 Bills at Pats Postgame Postmortum
Bing Bong replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We've looked horrible all but 3 games this year. So no I'm definitely not shocked we lost to Brady's 100 yard 1 TD 2 INT performance. And that's bad. -
Yeah wut. There's 101 reasons this is a dumb idea, but QB performance this last game ain't one of them.

This season was about our whole team. We ***** about JA's help as if nothing is his fault and turn around and say he's the only thing this season matters about. How are we going to be good if we only care about one player. It better not just be about JA for Beane. Pretty darn lazy for a GM if you ask me. "I GOT.. ONE GOOD PLAYER THIS YEAR! PROCESS ACHEIVED!"

You don't have a season like the Bills have had ESPECIALLY the crap we saw to start the year without having people understandably disappointed. It's not comforting to get throttled as much as we have had. I agree about overreactions it's patently obvious and pointed out by everyone every week. But we're overreacting poeitively over a crappy 14-13 win due to some missed kicks just as much as we are overreacting negatively. It's not about any little thing here in a vacuum, it's the accumulation we've gotten to this point. I'm PO'd at the front office and I'm not calling for McDermott to get canned. But I'll give it a year and I'm honestly more worried about Beane's job so far than McDermott. Can't see how we can build a significantly better roster here overnight. And it's foolish for a GM to bank on all these young guys to pan out.
