This entire, miserable season revolves around 1 player

His "highlight reel" was genuinely hilarious in that sure he looked good but it was an AJ Green highlight reel! lol. It was so obvious on 90% of the plays that went to AJ Green I though good god did the guy making this have no other way to showcase the quarterback?? Thought he could be okay but wasn't holding my breath or pissed we lost dumped him. I"m pissed Peterman was the alternative with him gone.. some of those journeymen Quarterbacks are capable and we picked 2 pretty bad ones on top of keeping Peterman. When you're practicing with a rookie, AJ, and Peterman.. I'd bet it's pretty damn hard to know what a capable week 1 starter looks like. -

Side note: I don't buy the Rosen is too frail because of concussions narrative. The dude goes out when he gets concussed, the real damage comes from repeat concussions in a short span. JA absolutely has gotten concussed on at least 2 plays I recall and he kept playing. That's an injury I don't blame at all in a guy who allows the NFL/NCAA protocol to do it's job and steps out for the game. He could be too frail if he starts getting repeated injuries to other parts of his body all career. But just because he "looks frail" and has had "too many concussions" as I keep hearing doesn't mean he's a proven injury prone guy. I'm absolutely positive he's gotten his bell rung just as much as any other quarterback in college, and 90% recklessly call it "grit" and keep playing. I still see quarterbacks on national television getting lifted up by linemen, wobble their way to the huddle and keep playing when everybody watching knows they just got a severe head injury. What QBs don't let get reported proves the concussion counting on players is crock and having a few more than others in a career is no indication of being injury prone. -

Sounds like Beane found a way to have the former excuse in his pocket should Allen flame out of the NFL (not that he wouldn't be essentially blaming himself by going that route.. would be the time to play his trump card "it's Whaley's fault!"), but at least either way he has a way to get out of some criticism for the capital he invested. But I don't believe in breaking Quarterbacks regardless, that excuse is for the weak body QBs, and weak mental fortitude. want Allen to be tough SOB in his career (not blaming him for getting injured) but a no injury season at the rate he was going would earn mad respect from me seeing a potential Ironman Quarterback out there. He was pretty darn tough with the hits he was taking.. and he was unreasonably optimistic getting back on the field in a game swiftly turning blowout (which is awesome! Read:mental fortitude) He's already shown me he's not the type to get broken. If he busts, it's not because he started with a horrible offense and lost confidence.. dude has it in spades, or gets Trentative (love seeing him get up like a daisy after getting nailed.. really annoys defenders, like I get about Brady always bouncing up). He's got that mental intangible in him. And tbh one pre-draft facet I liked is he put up with a bad Wyoming team in college. A leader and team player knows it's a team sport, and while pushing his players to play the best shouldn't be pouting when things aren't as easy as they were with a powerhouse USC offense. Stay optimistic and see if you can overacheive. I'm 3 hours early to work.. I'm saying getting broken David Carr style is still a quarterback flaw and not an excuse for busting. JA's got that (won't break) intangible, so early kudos to Beane on that. If we run him out because he was never at least given an EJ Manual situation then that's horse **** but if he gets his offense and doesn't get to the next level and is exposed for not being a franchise, it's not because he played on this offense in 2018, it's because he was a bad draft pick from the get go. And yeah, I maintained unless Shady made his HOF status as a lock carrying the offense like Barry Sanders we were going to have a bad time with this roster if we didn't do anything other than switch a poor man's Russell Wilson (dude who at least could move the chains on a bad day in a similar crappy offense with athleticism) for a rookie we didn't want to start right away. -
I don't hate him, certainly don't respect him for taking a job away from someone much better. Want him to do well, but 1,000 quarterbacks in the world deserve the opportunity he has more, and that's not that's not his fault. Well, it probably is. He's not practicing the way he plays, and gaming the scrimmages so that dumb McDermott who doesn't know a lick of offense thinks he's got something he's not showing in the game. He's probably just throwing the kinds of passes DBs don't give a **** about because they want a smart NFL throw to defend, not some weird quick outside seam route the LBs would cut off normally if they weren't practicing for Rodgers or Brady on Sunday. Saw it preseason, and the opposing coaches and DBs didn't give a crap, they were thinking "wow good luck to him with that in the NFL, he's not giving us a proper exhibition to defend against, sure fooled us."

the QB makes the supporting caste when Tyrod is the QB (cause he never threw Sammy for 1000 yards or anything) and NOTHING when JA is QB. Get your facts straight. Tyrod has to win it alone. JA needs all the help he can get. Our receivers (unchanged but for the amazing Deonte Thompson) are the exact same as last year, and NOW we find out they're bad. But it can't get worse than Tyrod haha, can't get worse than Derek Anderson, a few said can't get worse than JA. Why can't we find the damn bar when we see it on the sidelines every Sunday with #2 on its back. The "can't get worst mentality" leads you on the perpetuating search for the worst. How about "could be better, who's better? who provides better help?" not "can't be worse, give me the next guy off the street. Oops he worse, well can't get worst than THAT.. NEXT!"

Brandon Beane deserves to be fired tomorrow
Bing Bong replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm tone deaf to pure speculation. You're tone deaf to giving me proof to what i'm asking for. You don't seem to know much about how the practical world is very different from your personal experience at your 1 job. You don't seem to know much about sample size or answering a simple question so I'm done arguing with you. I'd wager you're either too condescending to get any proof or don't think critically. Terry Pegula is a cat hoarder, it happens in my multinational conglamerate corporation with the shareholders, thus Terry is a cat hoarder. -

Bing Bong replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lol that sounds patently obvious. No speculation there. I'm sure the Pegulas told McDermott to find a puppet for him cause they wanted to pay money for something a monkey could do. Sound logic. Let's just live this reality without question. McDermott worked under Beane in Carolina. McDermott thought he was a good boss and recommend that to the owners. You realize that happens in companies all the time when they need to fill a position "hey PT5P do you know a good mid-level manager for your boss that just got fired" "yeah I know a guy from my last job that would like to interview. He was a really good boss, tought me a lot." //PT5P gets new boss per his recommendation. -

WHY DO YOU KEEP SAYING THIS. YOU NEVER SUBSTANTIATE YOUR POINT BUT REPEAT AD NAUSEUM. Just tell me why for Christ's sake. Do it once. Give me your theory. WHAT ARE WE PAYING HIM FOR WHAT IS IS JOB DESCRIPTION. You know at my company my boss is my errand boy. He gets coffee for me and gives me pay raises when I want them -
I don't like playing what if GM man, neither you or I know exactly what they are and are not forced to do without details.. all I know is the roster is pretty crappy and I'm praying it's good and the roster I proposed to you would kick our roster's butt and be in no worse position to rebuild. Just sign a few vets. They're infinitely better than starting the kids we have every Sunday, not that I don't want youguns starting at the moment. I don't want crappy younguns that aren't going to be on the roster if we improve the way we are supposed to in 1 to 2 years man. I'm glad you brought up a point I disagree with but can understand. I'd rather have 9-7 teams in the playoffs at the cost of a worse overall pick in any scenario. It's a winning culture vs a losing culture. Teams that lose 1st round every year in playoffs (really just the Chiefs and Bengals I guess) aren't failures, especially in an era in the AFC where they have the greatest dynasty ever making it incredibly hard to go far. But ***** those players are pumped the next off season. They know they're good. They know if they work harder they can hit the hurdle. They have a winning culture. I see our defenders getting disillusioned.. these are ultimate competitors playing high caliber NFL football that might start be thinking "we still can't win.. I guess the NFL is about getting your paycheck and having no control over the situation I am in". I can see where you disagree with that , and I disagree that the margin for 1st round talent is a lot smaller than we think, and that #10-#32 Don hold much difference in value (other than trading down/for players to thirsty teams). I hope you can understand my opinion that playoffs are better than high(ish) picks. Agree to disagree and end this convo? WAIT HOLD ON I'M STILL ARGUING NOW. We were a playoff team with those DL, LB, and CBs. So we could have addressed it with Ridley, OL and QB. And could have been a playoff team (provided JA plays like those rookies that actually do very well rookie year and stay healthy).. like Russell Wilson, Derek Carr, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Carson Wentz.

No I mean we're saddled with this regime right now. Would be stupid to move on. It's easy to break a roster down, and monumentally difficult to get it back up, but only Beane knows at least what he's going to do with this so he's the best guy for fixing the mess he created.. that's the annoying part basically. Of course if JA doesn't pan out the rug's pulled from under them that's when it needs to be determined if they stay for a consistent span or GTFO ASAP.

Yeah.. I really didn't like the Clay signing. Almost positive Cogs and Wood left partially because Tyrod was getting the door. Old dudes had their fun in a run happy offense and weren't ending there careers like this 2018 season. Plus they were crazy/banged up.. but whatever. Damn you for making me do research, Beane made a jigsaw puzzle out of this: we got Allen moving to 12 with a 1st (that we always had) and Glenn, then 12 to 7 with basically that 12th overall, a 2nd from the Sammy trade, and another 2nd (that we always had). So.. Glenn, Sammy, and a playoff bottom feeder round 1 and 2 packaged for Allen. Not bad for a #7 overall QB, 3rd Qb taken. No /s there. But that didn't blow up the roster. We got jack for Ronald Darby: #6 Eagles depth chart player Matthews and a 3rd. And then traded a better third for our bud KB, who's going to end his career here as a pretty useless receiver in an offense. Tyrod netted a 3rd helping get Tremaine Edmunds. Dumped Dareus who's useless, Ragland who didn't fit. And the rest is just a jumbled mess of late round draft picks getting exchanged around, with 2nd round Dawkins and 2nd round Zay trade ups happening. Are we drafting well? Yeah reasonably. Let's say we keep Woods (he's ABSOLUTELY worth $7M a year especially knowing we're about to invest heavily in a QB). Get Zay, get Ridley, (no Edmunds), no Star for some interior linemen.. vets were available, 2 for the price of one without Star. Keep Darby cause why the heck not?? Oh we play a zone coverage? I wonder what josh Norman did with McDermott.. See what we have now.. offensive talent and more importantly VETERANS. Those dudes are important.. because they've proved they can stick around in the league. Point is we didn't gut the roster for Allen, we gutted it for him but mostly a beefed up defense. Don't give a **** now but that team kicks our version's ass, and is still in a position to get cap and draft and whatnot. We'll be better next year, we could have been much better this year, and be in the exact same position and maybe people wouldn't be calling for McDermott's head because his job is pretty damn impossible. I don't want a losing culture. And that's exactly what happens when our defense KNOWS they are going to lose no matter how well they play. That kills competitors until they collect their paychecks and say well **** it i guess this is what playing for the Bills is like.

Aggressively pursued? I suppose you have to step in unless you let the ganja get you paranoid lol. But that would keep me even more incapable of defending myself haha. Pretty funny story cause I can totally imagine me just laying down and getting a serious beating with the most pathetic self defense, but it must have really sucked.

First Round Draft Pick Is ...
Bing Bong replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well whatever.. Kings ransom. Tons of offense and maybe keep up a defensive depth luxury pick if some younger guys turn out to be a flash in the pan. That's what I want to see. Fill our holes through the draft with later picks so we have as much talent as possible under solid contracts.. sign FA's for the length of time Tre White starts expecting money essentially. Play it by ear after we start paying the first Beane/McD rooks ( and hope that these guys keep up the good drafting) Hard to tell if it's good drafting or just so many young players playing together, that it's easy to stand out among peers. Regardless it's great to have a lot of guys from the same consecutive (hopefully good) drafts grow together.. Seahawks style. Still viscerally opposed to tanking as it's the NFL and time and time again, you're batting 500 for a stud top 5, 250 for a capable starter (is that what we want in a tank?), 250 for a guy that won't be on the roster for too long (way to waste a tank). Especially if we're filling in the O-Line.. we don't need a high pick to get guard/center depth but trade down and BAM we get that interior locked down. Draft our highest on WR, SIGN A VET WR. Overpay for him I don't care. I want to off-season to specifically set up JA to succeed (or allow for a serious evaluation of his long term skills) project QB or not, #7 overall QB should be ready to play and show he can be our guy year 2.. I'll be livid if we go another season "duhhhhh we don't know what we have in him.. erryone sucks" -
I'm the guy that would get a beatdown. I love talking trash when someone starts annoying and just go about trying to crush em. But I don't have a fighting bone in my body and typically just start backing up like "oh crap" and usually de-escalates when the guy sees fear in me when he goes beyond verbal sparring

First Round Draft Pick Is ...
Bing Bong replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A trade down for a king's ransom. Seriously. If it's a top 3 pick, there might be a team desperate enough to get the missing piece, hopefully some QB needy team looking for a bust. I want a Rams/Goff trade down. A RGIII/Redskins deal.. And spam offense offense offense.. and maybe a Kyle Williams replacement. -
Oh Ol Dirty B I'm saying the exact opposite! I'm challenging people to substantiate the claims that he's the one responsible for this **** roster. Beane is, and Beane sucks. Regardless in my last reply to your post here and openly admitted to pandering to be a bit more likeable to all factions. But it's Beane or bust.. until 2022. Until then, I'll sure be eating my words in 5 years you just wait! But I can't even pander enough to compromise some of my opinions to be open to finding positives in this regime while still giving my concerns (that they're forcing us into a 5 year commitment after doing the easy part of a roster tear down and telling us to "trust" them to build it back up their way).. like tearing down a roster is indicative the master plan is working because we know they can build a contender. We just know! and trust lol.

Can't please everyone lmao. I criticize Beane, defend McDermott, I get "FAX" that Beane is McDermott's puppet. Criticize McDermott and not Beane I get the likely "FAX" that our GM is being a GM I admit we're stuck with Beane's vision given he tore the house down, he's the only one to repair it, I get "FAX" that his purposeful tank is indicative that he sucks. I recommend we rid Beane, and I get the likely "FAX" that he's clearly tanking (loser) I SOLD MY SOUL FOR DEFENDING THE DAMN COACH THAT STARTED PETERMAN THAT BEGAN MY DOWNWARD SPIRAL OF RAGE. GIVE ME THE UPVOTES WHEN I PANDER TO YOU. Hot takes from now on. Only. Hot. Takes. I don't think he does.. maybe I worded it poorly but my broader point was that he's given the best coordinator possible (something quite necessary for a young OC prodigy turned HC as he discusses and learns from an all time great) McDermott is given Daboll (another Beane move that makes McDermott look horrible as a young DC prodigy turned HC as he discusses how easy Daboll had it at Alabama. I'm sure McDermott is really learning the X's and O's).. "ya see Sean.. here's some tape on when I ran my best offense, ranked #18.. not to toot my own horn! Watch and learn. Now here's some tape on Alabama. Notice how the Offensive line pancakes the entire Kentucky Defensive line as they charge forward.. and this is key.. the pancake the LBs. Once there you have 7 defenders on the field pancaked and 10 blockers on the remaining 4. That's the kind of offense I can impart to you. Now we just need to get our hands on 5 Joe Thomas's and you can run this genuis offense. It's all in my resume.. just sit back and relax Sean" //McDermott slowly realizing his GM tanking is not very good for his career.
-
Maybe not a fact. But just watch him on the ipad with Jared Goff during every defensive possession. The broadcast announcers comment on that quite regularly. that's all I'm coming from, he's for the most part thinking about the next offensive possession and making adjustments to it during every defensive possession. ^ meant to loop you here

okay, I'm not privy to the PMs, but his post didn't call for a PM, JMO. IMO, he just initially made a light snark about some of the humor (from other posters), and proceeded to give you good advice (not that he suggested you weren't doing this already. I'm all for your health man, but I just didn't see any malevolence in that post, I saw advice (not interested in hearing about PMs (PRIVATE messaging). I understand if you took offense to that, you've been very open about your situation, which is admirable, and healthy (although maybe not on a forum). But I want you to know jokes aside, we all care for your mental health man, you can see it in the thread. I'm depressed myself and I always try to be aware that I am in a state of mind often where I misinterpret someone's intention to be negative.. because I/you/all depressed people expect negative, they expect the worst. I suppose.. PMs aside (seriously just delete the PMs and forget about them.. I'm just trying to help, and let you know we're all trying to help. And just know that as this is a forum, put some light snark in perspective, as we often go to humor, piggyback off other comments (admittedly too far) when uncomfortable. But I've had the same experience, and when I see it from the outside looking in, I can see where you expect negativity, but in this thread I see a lot of support, and I'm proud of most of the posters here for doing it. Best of luck bud, I'm the last person to give advice other than what I just posted. Maybe just put "Bakin" on ignore and forget about all that. And find the positives in the anonymous community that genuinely cares about your health for no reason other than being good people and always watching out for their fellow Bills fans. We are a community after all.. in a very loose sense of the term.

They just gambled on a tear down rather than a compromise by hedging bets (dump some, keep others). I personally hated the Charles Clay contract and thought that was something that should go if we're so worried about cap. Don't know the dead cap but if dropping Clay to keep Woods was remotely an option, then I'd do that in a hot minute. that's my percieved risk. I totally agree with getting a QB btw, but what does that have to do with blowing up the roster
-
You're post is just ridiculous from the get go. Players are motivated because they're pros? Good grief, hire Gregg Schiano if that is the case; look at how Randy Moss was ultra motivated in his Raiders years when nobody of the team gave a flying ****. Beane can't be judged? Jeez he's only made more horrible trades from day in his short tenure than most GMs do in their span with a team. Again, Beane has only had a little over a year and he's already made a plethora of moves like when he gave up a 3rd for Kelvin and drafted Phillip Gaines for his first confirmed bust with a chance for more, other than trading up for both his first round picks (which should be 100% hits in a tradeup) As for knowing by 2022, thinking you can judge the opportunity cost vs reward over a 5 year period from first time GMs and coaches is pretty sad stuff. Ludicrous that you just reversed a subjective opinion post to your own subjective opinions and regard your strategy as gospel while dismissing any other opinion on regime strategy. Let's revisit in 2022.. until then give me any precedent for a team that's been in our situation in the last 10 years that really crushed it. //pats self on back "touche PT5P you reworded his completely subjective opinions against him" "yeah I agree PT5P"
