Yeah.. they sort of have our hand forced now by this point.. which is annoying. It's easy to tear down a roster (a rebuild of this magnitude is pretty rare.. like this isn't NFL normal). We can't change regimes because they did the easy part with a specific plan to finish out the hard part.. so we're stuck to "trust" (the process). We can't get rid of them. If this whole thing pans out, fantastic.. but it's pretty damn hard for even the best GMs. If it doesn't, then we are incredibly screwed. It's so damn risky. Just all felt reckless. Since they have monumental task in front of them now and are both in their first job. It's not like we hired the rebuild masters with a proven resume of creating a dynasty. That's what you get Bill Polian for if you're committing to a rebuild. Lol fair enough.. I keep saying "BESIDES PETERMAN... McDermott's doing XYZ" but it's such a black mark, and obvious McDermott choice. Like I knew Peterman was the clear fallacy to my post

Yeah they were too undecisive with Whaley, wanted him out but had no football knowledge of who to go for. Likely got McDermott on Whaley's recommendation, then Beane on McDermott's.. so stupid haha. Regardless Beane should be hired to be McDermott's boss, if they didn't get that right after the screw ups that lead to all that.. then God help us with these owners lol.

Jags Trade Dante Fowler to the Rams
Bing Bong replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Played it perfectly from coaching staff to personnel. They have lost a ton of draft picks but I don't find that a huge concern. Drafting well with limited picks is infinitely better than hoarding picks and drafting like **** -

Who cares.. most of those guys won't be back. They're leveraging having Gurley and Goff on the cheap with contracts that will keep them flexible year to year to resign these guys come time when they have to tie up cap on a potentially elite duo in their prime. Also showing that talent is pretty damn important over having questionable character.. these guys tend to play their best when simultaneously winning and playing on a payday contract, they're all on the same page being rental mercenaries and want to win a Superbowl that much more. -
Cause we've both been outspoken against the hand grenade thrown at our roster called the process super early on lol. This is my concession speech for process lovers and haters.. now that people are jumping (or coming out of the woodwork) on the negative side. I wouldn't be upset at all if we turned towards a win now mentality regime entirely.. but If we want a change and maintain some consistency, maybe fire the dude that's put this team on a firesale and not the dude that got us to the playoffs on Whaley scraps. I wanted McDermott fired after the Chargers game last year, and with Peterman still on the roster he hasn't helped that cause.. but at least he's the one guy that's shown some sort of competence since we've decided to "rebuild" (code word: tank and pray on not screwing up literally starting from scratch)
-
I discovered the process. We need to totally rid whatever confidence and build up a loser culture to really explode up from the pits. Take the Chiefs.. their chart starts at our start and is increasing concave down as they make several playoffs until it hit an inflection point with Mahomes and exploded up. Dumb***es don't know how to rebuild. You call that a rebuild??? Laughable. They never even tore the team down. Just ridiculous. Obviously before the POI they should have scrapped it all and roster dumped. All those playoffs losses were getting them nowhere.

You were honestly offering good advice going back through the thread, super confused.

Get Foles, WR via FA, Draft lineman

Balls to the wall offense. Hopefully there are a LOT of good FAs we don't screw up choosing. -
I honestly think Zay Jones is a decent wide receiver
Bing Bong replied to Bills365's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He sure is. Now we need a #2 and #1 and hope Zay can kill it in the slot. -
I saw the TV broadcast, nobody cares. We filled the stadium for a MNF game primed for a blowout and cheered our ***** off. The commentators mentioned many fanbases wouldn't fill the stadium. You want to know that the audience remembers, tune into a national media show and see the hot topic of everybody ridiculing the Rams fans for allowing their team to play an away game in LA. Undefeated and NO HOME ADVANTAGE. Bills fans are widely respected, unless their getting into fights with other fans and breaking bones through tables. I and the world rather see us having a good time than a bunch of belligerents getting into brawls for christsakes.
-
We have no affect on the game other than cheering and making noise on defense (which the Bills fans did), the pick 6 was an indictment of how some felt about the current state of affairs.. losing attitude for a losing team. Fans are there for entertainment. It was a fitting end. Most fans respect the Bills fanbasebthey know we support the team through thick in thin when they're in the game.. we're 2-5, historically bad and cheering like hell on MNF through 3 quarters.. many teams wouldn't fill the stadium. You want to see a bad fanbase see the Rams Sunday night full of Packers fans. That's the national media indictment of LA fans. Guarantee nobody gives a crap about the bills fans giving up and enjoying whatever they can following a comically bad offensive performance.

Jesus sorry for having a good time.

Do we really have give McBeane the 2019 season?

He (McD) is a Petermoron. Pardon my ambiguous pronoun. -

I think I figured it out: The key is getting out of rock bottom once you get there.. because rebuilds follow a.. marginal cost curve, so you gotta really turn your team to another level of awful and hope that momentum keeps going and shoots you up.. Did I get it right? See the TRICK is to get bad so fast you have the momentum to shoot up, and hope you don't just tear down talent for no reason and get stuck at the bottom when you have a few bad drafts. -
I agree. How is not Beane? I get Peterman lol. Why do we oh so firmly believe it? Is that not a horrible idea to give to a 2nd year HC? Sure. But what makes you say that lol. That's the whole point of the post.. why are we saying our GM isn't being a GM Fellas we all know, Peterman is McDermott's long lost son after a fated one night stand in college that finally approached him before the draft to reveal himself and Beane has let this nonsense go on cause it's so damn heartwarming.

I am starting to find the criticisms of McDermott unfair. Probably not the best source but I see on the board a lot that McDermott is building this roster. Then what the hell is Beane doing or getting paid for? Who on Earth let's a former DC rookie HC do that? I just don't believe it (or want to). A coaches job is first and foremost to MOTIVATE. Was that not clearly the case last year? Tre White was dancing in between plays, Hyde running over after every great PBU to out of sheer pride for his unit. That's a confident team, a factor that makes middling teams push to the playoffs, Pete Carroll's young Seahawks to win it all. Secondly he knows his craft, he helps find and employ a terrific defense. We hired a DC to be a HC. This is his job. So who's job is it to build the roster, select Coordinators, and support his head coach in his weaknesses? Look at the Rams, McVay doesn't have anything to do with the defense.. because the GM is aware he's an offensive mind, hired the best DC available and loaded McVay's shortcomings on the other side of the ball. So why are we griping at having a defensive minded coach? He's not building a defense only team, he's part of the puzzle Beane is tasked with to create a complete team on both sides of the ball. Of course many DC's make great HC.. Look at Minnesota, look at Belicheck, look at Bill Parcells, Pete Carroll, John Harbaugh, Marvin Lewis, Mike Tomlin. Of course these guys have great offenses because MAYBE they have great GMs that are charged with personnell. McBeane shouldn't be some multipersonality one person (unless it's Belicheck) of course they have a large input on the team but these guys don't need to be (and shouldn't be) glued at the hip. Our offensive shortcomings are the GM who is mortgaging the offense for next year anyway (whether I like it or not), saddled McD with a questionable OC's career resume and has generally done nothing to support a baby HC tasked with offensive responsibility for once. I'll give you Peterman, i'll give you that lol smh.. but to summarize, McDermott needs a Wade Phillips of the offense and a GM committed to building around his strengths and supporting his weaknesses.. and McDermott is chained to what he's been given. Mike Tomlin certainly enjoys having an outstanding offense right now.. and he has a phenomenal GM orchestrating that. If we're writing the book on anyone thus far it's Beane, and as he's really had about 2 years he may deserve some time, but he hasn't done HIS job. Personally I'd like to see McD unchained.. but we're saddled with Beane and let's see where that takes us. But I don't take this regime as one group.. we have a great HC and a GM committed to tanking. Whaley went through his HCs I wouldn't mind McD have a shot with a new GM if this regime doesn't pan out.

1) could use a backup and sell a ****load of merchandise. Nike's making bank on the man it's a potential for a whole new source of fans. You'd gain a lot more bandwagoners than lose petty fans who give up on their team of 30 years for one signing? Those aren't fans.. Not like PETA really lost all of Eagles fanbase after signing Vick. Like I said, the team who signs him is selling Kaep jerseys. It's marketing genius. 2) Kaep's clearly vet minimum, hasn't signed onto team in 2 years, why do you think he's expensive. And I don't even know what group of teams this is referring to so I'll just assume they have a guy they want to develop and continue and cash in on Kaep fever as a capable backup (who doesn't want a Nick Foles contingency plan? Especially from a guy that's been there?) 3) teams like us.. take all the reasons above into account (merchandise, fans) let's say we're so bad he ain't winning us games anyway, who gives a crap about a side show when we already are a sideshow. Imagine Kaep coming back and having a Vick resurgence.. awesome, flip for a pick after signing him on a vet minimum over a year while losing games regardless as he showcases his skills best case scenario, dump him next year if not. I'm not trying to get into a fight here, I like this conversation, I want to know what you think of my points (and it's a football debate I don't want the thread to get political) a) I don't think he alienates that many fans honestly. Yes he's absolutely polarizing, but he's one of a LOT of players saying the same rhetoric employed in the NFL. The people that get into uproar and quit on their team are crappy fans anyway. Guys that get infuriated trolling away on a computer and barely watching football. He's not coming into his first team as a franchise unless he Vick level resurges. b) he really does have an entirely new fanbase outside of football that may be major football fans for the team that signs. The NBA is stupid lucrative with tons of Kaep fans and sports fans that generally watch NBA religiously. c) he's cheap man. He's not expensive why would you think he's command top dollar? I'll concede that he could very well just totally suck by now, may be too political (but he really hasn't been since leaving, been off the grid), certainly will alienate people (just not as much as you think IMO, as far as veterans go, the ones I know are not super hot and bothered.. I don't think Valencuelas.. an awesome person, is viscerally opposed to him in the league, and most level minded people feel that way.) Honestly I don't really care if he joins the Bills, we're losing anyway. Oh but lastly let's not speculate on his mental health though, don't want to go down that path. Reminds me of Ricky Williams in a way (LOVE HIM) in that he may be a great football player that wants to do more than football. I find that just to be speculation that football should be the only thing that matters to a player. And we can agree Eric Reid is a basket case at least, although given he's a Panther now, McDermott's already salivating at getting him EDIT oh and I think he's blackballed purely for suing the league. It's Goodell and his coalition 32 bosses that are just mad he's taking them on.. and rightfully so.. but I wouldn't car a lick if I was one of the NFL GMs. I'd do it solely to piss off Jerry Jones. "You ain't my leader Jerry, guess who I just signed??" And keep him on the PS or roster if you have room just to anger him for a year.

Bing Bong replied to RosenNOTchosen1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McBeane's alright. Offensively behind the curve, great motivator, great D caller. Look at the GM that's giving him nothing to help his weaknesses. Sean McVay doesn't know crap about defense. Doesn't care. Good thing he had a GM that recognized that. But he's a Petermoron. That's justification for firing I'll give you that. Not that I would but I understand. His faith in him is a level of stupidity I rarely see. What if Whaley just loooooved his baby UDFA Tuel. He was smarter than that. AND TUEL IS SO MUCH BETTER -
Me too. I need my screenname to become legacy. And NO sympathy for him. Christ half the undrafted potential pro QBs in consideration this year and last have some crap coaching job at best watching someone they KNOW they're better than and a pissed the heck off. If I was an aspiring pro I'd be tearing my eyeballs out watching him.
