I think AJMcbackup is the Bills version of a veteran QB bridge. Different year same game plan until things are more in order. I don't think Jay Cutler is the difference maker in the equation.

The difference in making the playoffs this year was...

If I was a rich guy would my trophy wife care how I got rich? She wouldn't care if I won the lottery or earned it as long as the money is in the bank. The Bills made the playoffs and I loved it. -
The Bills invested in Josh Allen and reputations depend on his success. That is good enough for me. Ride or Die Beane and we will see soon enough what one it will be. I myself could only be dissapointed if any QB selected after Josh Allen turns out to be the far superior QB. I'm not trying to talk myself into anything. I'm hopeful and skeptical. I want to be jumping out of my chair roaring while Josh Allen drives the ball down field. I want to be high fiving my fellow Bills fans about Allen. Those are my expectations and if Josh Allen isn't the guy then find some one who is but since the draft capital was spent on him those are my expectations. He will have to be really impressive or absolutely heads should roll. I will be supportive. I'll be patient. I'll root for Allen if he struggles. At some point if I'm not getting what I want then I won't be that guy any more.

Watched the video. Interesting person for sure. Not going to jump in the debate. If she doesn't make it I do think there is women's football. At least that's what a friend showed me in a video one day. I never knew of it's existence before that day. If you didn't know about this.... You are welcome.

McDermott also broke the playoff drought. Although I'll give you credit for bringing substance to the discussion. I forgotten about this. It at least proves the point they have brought religious influence to the team. Now I can't argue against that. I guess people can worry about how religion will effect the team.

Some places in this world people are murdered for being Christians. They are not scared to hide it so don't be afraid to hide you don't believe in it. Malala Yousafzai was shot in the face for standing up for womens rights. She displayed more backbone as a kid then you just represented right now. Martin Luther King Jr died standing up for his cause. I don't care what a person believes but I'll respect them more for fighting for it.
-
I never seen him pushing any religious agenda onto the team. I've never heard any complaints from players about him. I never seen him in any pictures even wearing a cross. I've never seen any pictures of him with his family or in a church. If he want to preach religion he can go be a Pastor. He is a professional NFL HC and I think he knows the difference between the two jobs. If anything AJMcCarron is the guy to watch out for with the religious chest piece.

I've seen only a few people with a deep understanding of the word. Most people it's just a shiny badge to make them feel better. So I wouldn't be concerned about the Christians because you probably never met a real one. I didn't even care about the Bible until I had my mind blown by a few people with interpretation I never seen at a church.

More wins in 2018, Browns or Bills?
Lfod replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think it will be a full year myself. I think Mayfield will get the test run unless Tyrod really does have the Browns winning more then 6 games or Mayfield just isn't looking ready behind the scenes. -

I honestly think Tyrod is the right move for the Browns. I don't think he elevated the Bills W/L record to the point you would have confidence that it will happen for the Browns. It's not like he took the winless Bills to the playoffs. This team was borderline playoff pushing before his arrival. Things actually fell in the teams favor one season and we snuck into the post season. So even though I think he is a good fit for the Browns I would not be so quick to think he is the X factor to increasing a teams win/loss record or he wasn't the X factor in Buffalo. -

I'm glad this thread was made. A place for all the Browns hype to be consolidated in one thread, to be dug out of the graveyard mid season. -

All you need is draft pick #1 and #4 apparently and people are believers. That's all the Browns have done well. Losing and getting high draft picks. -

That fact should be enough to back down some people on how strongly they feel about the Browns being amazing. The Browns being good will be a good topic to revisit during the season when the paper tiger gets shredded. -
I still give credit to Rex Ryan for bringing in Tyrod. That would be my unpopular opinion. As much as I was glad to see Tyrod go, I still think it was a good move to bring him in. Tyrod wasn't that far off from being a decent starting QB and the next staff utilized him to saftey dance into the playoffs and got a 3rd rounder for him. I have to think that was a win for Rex Ryan. McDermott did would Rex couldn't even after trading away players and never made the bold playoff statement. So I would still say McDermott and Marrone are both more legit HCs.

I liked Doug Marrone way more then Rex Ryan. I never saw the point in bringing in a washed up Jets coach to save the Bills. I remember now, the move was to bring in a big name to sell tickets and it worked. Rex went on to being on TV and Doug Marrone went on to be a head coach of the Jaguars and bring them to the Playoffs. Doug is football and Rex Ryan is entertainment. I love the situation we are in now, but if I had to choose between Doug and Rex my choice will always be Doug no question. I don't miss Rex Ryan at all.

theRALPH RANT - Bills Select Josh Allen
Lfod replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean when Allen was picked I was shocked because it seemed like a majority didn't think he was any good before the draft. I'm talking even before the leaked tweets. It kinda shocked me that Buffalo went with an unpopular pick, even after the tweets and knocks on him I seen floating around. Then I started to wonder why the pick was made and what the team saw in Allen. Why would Beane put his career on the line for this guy? I figured if it doesn't work out then yes, all those knocks before the draft and even the tweets will bubble back to the surface. So I did check out some YouTube video breakdowns of Allen. Kind of similar to this one. They all came to a sort of similar conclusions this one did. They all pointed me to plays that Allen can make. Sure they showed his bad plays as well, but when they did talk about his good play they gave high praise for the difficulty on certain plays. That gave me confidence in the pick. A QB with the size and athletic ability that probably needs to be coached up to avoid the mistakes. Sounds like a guy that can make all the big plays even if he did have bad plays. I like the pick a lot better today then when it happened but that is because I bought into the negative hype around him before the draft. -
I don't get how the Browns having the #1 and #4 pick in the draft make them go from a winless team to making a playoff push. You are basically making an argument that putting a rookie on to a winless team last season is some how the answer for Cleveland this season. I mean I seen that the chances of a new QB being successful for the Browns is statistically bad and analysis during the draft was any of the rookie QBs shouldn't want to go to Cleveland just because of those chances being bad. The argument to start Mayfield over Tyrod isn't a solid one. No one has even seen Mayfield play a NFL game and he is already being touted as the guy that will turn the Browns around over Taylor. Tyrod isn't amazing but he has a winning record. He is a good choice for a bridge. I'm have to side with Hue Jackson that Taylor should be your starter. I mean if Mayfield is clearly better then Tyrod then go ahead and start him. Just don't forget we are talking about the Browns, a winless team. In your head they might be amazing but in reality they haven't proven they can start a rookie QB and be successful. Not a good argument to make no matter how good you think Mayfield is without him even seeing him play in the NFL. I don't think you considered how bad it looks if you start Mayfield over Tyrod and you at any point make the switch from Mayfield to Tyrod. You start your Rookie over your vet bridge and have to go back to your bridge looks very bad. Oh but he's a #1 pick so you invested more into him then Tyrod so naturally he should start. Good I hope they rush that investment. I hope they they put that rookie on a winless team because they invested more into him. I would be salivating to see the massive failure as a result. I agree with Hue Jackson that Tyrod should start but I really hope they go with the start Mayfield crowd, I really do. I bet the real Browns fans don't think like the bandwagon Browns fans on this board.
