Sure we spent a lot on Trent, but think of the Chiefs signing Sammy "im basically made of glass" Watkins to $30M guaranteed money, $48M over three years. Over $20M this year alone. I think thats more than Brady gets. He's grabbin just 4 catches a game and has 3 TD's on the season. Yikes. And we thought Woods at $8M was too much. Uhhhhh....No

Not sure if he's beating him with a belt. It could just be a little whack now and then. It used to just scare us kids more than it hurt growing up when my dad would pull out the belt. If he's continually beating him with it thats jailable esp considering the dude is on parole for the stick incident, but I think there's still room for a well-placed light belt whack in disciplining a kid if thats all he responds to.

Has anyone here ever met Doug Marrone?
Da webster guy replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Might have been wise but he didnt get hired right away like he planned, and he's probably gonna get canned after this 4 win season. ( i predicted less than 8 wins for them in late August). Either way im glad he is gone. Cant believe his faith in Hackett is still going. -
SNF: Vikes at Chicago
Da webster guy replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Assuming the Bears were going to spend their first rounder on an edge guy anyway, they basically got Mack for a swap of 2020 first and second round picks. A swap. When Pats traded away Chandler Jones I remember thinking the same thing: How can you dump the best player at his position in ALL of football who still wants to play for you? Gruden is as dumb as Bill when it comes to being a GM -

I was gonna mention Shaq too. He's getting better, Harry, Edmunds, Milano, Taron all getting better each week it seems. Nine rooks/2nd year guys starting vs Jags -
SI Chronicles the Sad Saga of James Hardy
Da webster guy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A personal stylist for $28k. That's honestly the most ridiculous advice you could ever give a young kid. Or anyone. Nice mentorship Lil Donte. Also James had the unfortunate experience of having to listen to Chris "You Gotsta Have a Fall Guy" Carter's ghetto advice. -
WHY is Allen really starting?
Da webster guy replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. And the best thing he's shown is that the game isn't too big for him. He doesn't play scared and aside from a handful of plays, he's not forcing things out there. He's shown a knack for escaping pressure, and he's improving at keeping his eyes downfield. The rest of the way it's going to be reading coverages, pre snap adjustments, and footwork/throwing mechanics. Obviously tons to learn before he can be great, but the kid already has a huge road win in Minny and a come-from-behind 4th quarter drive to win a game. And most of all (lest we forget) the kid is so FUN to watch. I say enjoy it, we don't have the pressure of having to win to make the playoffs, and we have some easier opponents going down the stretch here, with three at home in December. Can't wait to smoke the Jags. -
They're both playing good ball this season. Milano is really a pleasant surprise, becoming more consistent and playing like a madman out there. Tremaine is still a good year or two away from rounding into form. Neither one of them are thumpers, but boy as far as running with and covering TE's and RB's goes, those two are among the best in the league. The new age LB, drafted with that in mind. You can't go wrong either way.

The Patriots Have Signed Ramon Humber
Da webster guy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You talking about the coach whose team scored zero points against us last time we played them without Brady. In Foxboro? Maybe it's not him that's doing the winning. -

Dear Bill the GENIUS You guys a little desperate over there? Is it because you dumped Chandler Jones who had more sacks by himself last year for Zona than your entire TEAM has so far this year? Hahahahahaha what's gonna happen when #12 retires and nobody wants to put up with your smug crap and play for you any more Bill? Will Kraft cut his mullet finally? GEEEEEEENNNNNNIIIIIIIUUUUUSSSSSS -
A lot of teams passed on Mahomes. You act like the dude was some slam dunk Andrew Luck prospect. Maybe we should be mad for passing on Brady, Rogers, Brees, and Wilson while we're at it. We had shots at those guys too. I wonder if Cinci is glad they took John Ross with Mahomes still on the board. Geez dude. McShay on Mahomes in college: Can be inconsistent in his approach. Needs to play inside the offense and show more discipline. Too eager to go big game hunting. Ravenous appetite for the explosive play can also bring unwanted trouble. Willingness to default to playground style appears to limit his ability to get into a consistent rhythm. Needs to improve anticipatory reads and learn to take what the defense gives him. Decision making can go from good to bad in a moment's notice. Operates from a narrow base and allows his upper body and arm to race ahead of his feet. Has a dip and wind-up in his standard release. Explosive delivery and follow-through causes some throws to sail. Needs better touch on intermediate and deep balls. Carries ball a little low in the pocket. Impatient. Will leave pocket prematurely rather than standing in and winning in rhythm. Better as a scrambler than pure runner. Looked a little less mobile in the open field this season. i agree. it's also a must before pee wee football games, man are they hilarious..... (sorry to my little nephew jimmie, but when you grow up and read this post, you'll be giggling too)

Offensive Line Continuity
Da webster guy replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting. That's pretty rare to have that many guys together for that long. Has to be the longest in the league. I wonder if there's a Dline with even half that much continuity. When I see that stat and look at how well Connor is doing (almost 800 yards already, 4.7 yp carry) I wonder how LeVeon Bell is going to do on another team that doesn't have that kind of line in front of him. I'm sure someday our boy TD Mike Gillislee will look back fondly on his NFL days when he was running in Romans offense behind Richie and Eric's line. He had a legendary 5.7 yards per carry in 2016 (just over 100 carries) and yet when he went to Patriots the next year he had the same amount of carries but only managed 3.7 yards per touch and my guess is he faced far less 8 man fronts in New England than he did with us in '16. This year's free agent market for Oline doesn't seem to have a standout center, which is why I think you'll see us drafting one early, and part of our $80M is going to go to a guard like the Pats Shaq Mason or the Titan's Quinton Spain or a RT like Daryl Williams from Carolina. Maybe both. We got a little blindsided with Oline this offseason-- our pro bowl LG went batshit crazy and our veteran center had a freak neck injury out of the blue. Huge shoes to fill and something we are still struggling to address. -
Zay had an OK game? He had 8 catches and no drops, got open all day. Quickness, leverage, looking the ball in. I'm assuming you didn't rewatch the game. There were only two WR's in the entire league (Cooks and Edelman) that had more grabs. And they had franchise qb's throwing them the ball. Don't get too old and cynical, the kid had a great game. It ok to say it. We love you.

We were in the playoffs last year. Not an elite team obviously, but better than average. Every team has holes, and they draft to fill their weaknesses and you're right they can be partial to the players they picked, but our current nine starters all seem legit to me. We've had some players do better than we had planned in Milano, Shaq, even Lorax, and that's helping, but outside of Allen i can't see any of these guys not being good players for us in the years ahead.

I know there are varying degrees of involvement by coach McD with each of the picks in the past two drafts, but now that Zay has somehow emerged as a good receiver our last two years we have TreD Zay Dawk Milano Last year Josh Tremaine Harry Taron Teller Obviously Josh is the wildcard here, but currently this is 9 starters in two years through the draft. Almost half of the 22 man starting team in two years, all under rookie deals. I don't have time to look it up, but that's likely tops in the league, nine starters who are either rooks or sophomores. There's a little Whaley influence, and Beane obviously, but if McD has been significantly involved in these past two drafts like they say he has, it's a very encouraging sign that we have a knack for identifying and developing the right kind of players here.

Maybe on the road I could see your point here, but Jax is coming into our house, we have the best defense in football, not them. No reason to be scared of them, they imploded (as I predicted they would be a sub .500 team on here many times this preseason) Ramsey is nothing to be afraid of. Calais is the guy that can screw up your day, and he'll be out to teach Teller and Bodine a few things. But they have Hackett and Marrone, so we get a +1 for that too.

WTF with the “feel bad for Peterman” posts?
Da webster guy replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still feel bad for him. He had some nice plays he will remember his whole life, most recently that touch pass to Zay in the endzone. Hope he forgets the rest of the crap and all the negative and has a great life doing something he loves. -

Who has the best stadium in the NFL?
Da webster guy replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What have these evil owners and commish done to Green Bay that has supposedly "hurt the franchise on the field?" They spent 20% of the cost of a new stadium and upgraded Lambeau nicely. It still feels authentic and like a real football game is being played there, not some futuristic video game like Dallas and Atlanta. I'm not berating you, but when Goodell says Buffalo needs a new stadium to "Compete" I laugh my ass off. He means to get more shared revenue boxes and suites sold. It has zero to do with competition. We aren't in that kind of market, we're outdoor football, throwback type fans with limited funds. One year I decided to buy part of a suite for my company, and we were all sitting there behind the glass watching 90% of the game on a TV screen feeling like this was the biggest waste of money of my life, because it was. If Roger wants to make more money for the owners he should take some of his $33 million dollar salary and give a million back to each team every year. -
Who has the best stadium in the NFL?
Da webster guy replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i hate the idea of a dome, but I would agree that the vikings stadium is pretty amazing with all that glass and natural light. is that retractable? Can't imagine a football game without the elements. Imagine a nice or winter afternoon of tailgating and then step inside to a dome. We did it in Atlanta not long ago, and it sucks the life out of you. They don't tailgate there, it's all cement parking garages which is so lame, but we were just hanging outside and then went inside and it was tragic. personally i'd do what Lambeau did. Add some suites up and away and keep the rest the way it is. If I want glitz and huge video screens flashing and blaring all day I'll go to Vegas. -
McD - Allen isn't too far off in throwing again
Da webster guy replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jags game at home after the bye. Final score will probably be like 6-3. I wonder if KBenjamin will blatantly push off in the endzone on FIRST DOWN at the 1 yard line and cost us the game like he did the last time we played them? -
Nate Peterman "I'm ready to go win a game"
Da webster guy replied to BmarvB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's thrown a few nfl td's, his toss to Zay was perfect. He's a half the field thrower, they need to roll him out if he's gonna throw to that side. Keep him in the pocket if he's going down the seams, and for god's sake no throws in the flat unless it's a pump fake to get the corner to think they're gonna get an easy one (why wouldn't they?) Funny I had this game as the one we'd be starting Josh after riding the bench for the first half of the season and learning the pro game. If only our GM could have done better in securing a vet to start the season.
