  1. See Cowboys 1989 thread and take a deep breath and move away from the ledge.
  2. This year is all about evaluting and seeing improvement from the young guys. Good news is Allen has to be the starter moving forward. Allen made some decent throws. Edmunds caused a fumble and made a few decent plays. Milano looked ok along with White. Oline looks like garbage but Dawkins seemed to do ok. Run defense was better and I really don't get the hate for star. He did his job today and wasn't the reason we gave up 40 plus points. Oh and the punter did good minus that one punt.
  3. I felt the same way. The future looks bright to me because they are actually doing the rebuild the right way which is meant to be painful. NBA teams do this all the time. In this case though we hopefully have our franchise guy and now it's all just about building around him. The hard part is over. Now it's all about building after this season is over. My example of this was when the Derrick Rose went down with an ACL injury in the playoffs and the Bulls really needed to evaluate their roster at this point. They had lost to Miami the year before in the playoffs. They needed to find another young star to pair Rose with especially coming off of an injury but instead they were the try hard Bulls that year just like the Bills last year and they made the playoffs and won a series because they had a good coach and a good system and no quit. But looking back is was 100% the wrong decision. They needed to tank and rebuild the roster and it set them back years and now they have finally opted for that process years past when they should have done it. I don't expect the Bills to be continually bad for years to come but I hope we get a top pick while Allen, Dawkins, White, Edmunds, Milano, Phillips all get valuable experience and look better by the end of the year doing it.
  4. I think the answer is easy. They weren't going to let Whaley draft another QB being a lame duck GM and Mcdermott wasn't going to go out on a limb and have a QB picked without having his guys in the front office in charge of helping him pick one. Plus I think they had an idea there were going to be a bunch of potential first round Qbs this year which proved to be correct. I still think Darnold was their first choice though if they had the first pick.
  5. Well at least one fan gets it. Everyone thought they were tanking last year but in reality last year was mainly just an evaluation and all about acquiring future cap space and assests to acquire a QB. Well we now have a potential franchise QB, Franchise MLB and stud defensive tackle for years to come. The first two being the hardest to find. If those picks hit it will be the best draft in Bills history and people are ready to fire him already. Bills fans really sound like a bunch of whiny children right now just because we somehow stumbled into the playoffs last year. I think a lot of Bills fans and people on this message board don't understand rebuilds. We now have the ability to go get a bunch of starters or depth via free agency and if handled correctly with trading down if we get a top pick could add 8-10 starters to this team next year and keep moving forward from there. Brandon Beane is doing this the right way and people are just being ridiculous because they want to be good right now.
  6. The Bills shouldn't be taking anyone with the #1 pick. They need to trade down if possible to get as many picks as they can get.
  7. you really got me. I'm also sure the Bills will pick a QB with their first pick next year.
  8. That's my point we had a lot of holes last year too. Last year was a mirage. It was unfortunate that Wood and Incognito retired. That really hurt. We finally will have money for free agents next year but I wouldn't give out long term contracts unless the player is still young and really good. But most likely just trying to find some avg starters or good backups mixed in with trying to get a lot of draft picks for next year is the plan and probably has been since the start. This year is a throwaway year and pretty much has been from the start. I wouldn't start to judge Beane negatively until after free agency and the draft next year. If I'm the Bills I'm trying to turn that top 5 pick and top second round pick into potentially at least 5 starting caliber players next year by trading down. Add that with free agency I could see 8-10 new starters alone next year.
  9. Then why didn't they start him over Peterman? Also the Bills didn't have a ton of money to spend on a journeymen QB. Hence McCarron. Allen started training camp as the #3 for a reason and that is because unless he absolutely lit it up in preason he was never suppose to be the starter to begin the year.
  10. People seem to not be living in reality. While it was an ugly game and I expect more to come they cannot just throw out Allen at this point. For the most parts he didn't play terrible today and made some nice throws but just like Wyoming he has zero help around him except the running backs.
  11. Why does basically lucking your way in to the playoffs after needing a few miracles along the way matter so much to Bills fans. It was nice to break the streak but look at my above post. We had zero cornerstones moving forward after the season ended except for White, maybe Dawkins and Milano. If everyone thought we were tanking last year why is it so unreasonable to think that we are actually doing it right this year and this is part of the process and pitch he already gave to the owners. So far he has opened up our cap space moving forward, drafted a top 10 QB, young taleneted MLB, good defensive lineman. Benjamin is not part of the core moving forward, neither is Murphy or Star. They may be servicable for the next year or two tops but that's all he was looking for. Beane is not getting fired next year.
  12. Way to grasp at straws. You think he's going to be worse then Peterman? have you looked at Peterman's stats in all three of his starts? No it won't happen. Get a clue. It's never happened before for a reason in the NFL. Yes you play him for the next couple of years. That's the whole point of picking a raw QB that is going to need a few years to learn the game, and I'm completely sober.
  13. I remember the play and the ball did in fact hit the defender first but he still had a chance to try and catch it before it hit him or after the ball bounced and he did neither. I'm a lot more upset the way Benjamin played. That's the real issue today.
  14. Dude you don't get it. Beane is not getting fired and he's not picking a QB next year. If he does that he's admitting that he !@#$ed up the process and rebuild. If he admits he's wrong and picks a QB he deserves to be fired. You don't pick a QB top 10 and give up a starting Left Tackle and multiple day 2 picks to pick another QB who guess what will still be behind a ****ty oline and zero Wrs. That's total bull ****. He's stuck with Allen and needs to build around him at this point. Get it?
  15. News flash the Bills picked a raw QB with elite talent that is going to need to time to develop. You cannot tell in one year if he is a bust. There was no indictation that they even wanted him to play this year, at least not for a while. This year is all about tanking. No one is getting fired. They know they are going to suck. At least I hope they do.
  16. I'm not aruging against Allen playing. There is no way 100% that they draft a QB top 5. Are you high? Think about what that would say about their ability to evaluate college talent if they did that. They gave up a starting left tackle and multiple picks to draft a QB in the top 10. You don't pick another QB the next year in the top 5 especially when you have no online and no good WRs period. How can you even really begin to evaluate this kid. I hated the Allen pick but they are tied to this kid for a few years for better or worse.
  17. there's no way they take a QB #1 next year. That would be admitting that they totally failed and gave up a lot of draft capital and resources to pick a bust without even giving him a couple of years. They need the #1 pick but that's so they can trade down and stock pile picks because they have holes everywhere on this team.
  18. well it looks like OP and Steve Tasker were drinking the same Kool-aid before the game.
  19. I posted this in the fire Brandon Beane thread and feel like this applies here. I think he saw reality last year after the Jags game and realized there were too many holes on this team with no enough young talent moving forward. This is the tank year that everyone thought would happen last year. I said it after the playoff game last year, this team had nothing to look forward to this year. They had no franchise QB, too much dead money for this year, and barely and young players to look forward to that could grow with the team. The only good young talent we had was White, and potentially Dawkins and Milano and the jury is still out and how much of a core piece the last two are. The primary challenge was to find your future QB. They drafted one at the expense of using a lot of draft capital and Glenn to get him and then traded up again for Edmunds. Remember when we all use to laugh at how bad the Bills drafts use to be during the drought well here's a look at who is still on this team from the past 6 drafts which should make up most of your young core going forward. Now some of this is because Of Whaley and Beane letting people go or trading them so some of this is self-induced which is why I think people are upset. 2018 Allen project, Edmunds also raw and young, potentially Phillips? 2017 White, Dawkins, Milano 2016 Lawson bust 2015 John Miller lol 2014 - 2013 - Some young talent we've let go are Chris Hogan, Bobby Woods, Sammy Watkins, Goodwin, E.J. Gaines, Darby, Gilmore, Glenn, Henderson, Alonso, Preston Brown, Marcel Dareus. Even though I agreed trying to move on from Fitz and Tyrod they are still proven vets that are better than anything we currently have. We now have older vets like McCoy, Clay who is invisible, Benjamin who can't catch the ball. Wood and Incognito retire and what are you left with? Nothing! This team blows and unfortunately the only play at this point is to be horrible and get the #1 pick. I hope Beane saw this too and maybe he was trying to tank this year. Hopefully we don't ruin Allen in the "process". Then you need to trade that #1 for hopefully as much capital as you can get and mix that with free agency money next year which to be honest they probably shouldn't go crazy and overspend. Just a few solid veteran players would be nice and keep stock piling future picks if possible. They really need to take a look at trading McCoy if possible for his sake and the sake of building this team for the future because right now it's a !@#$ing dumpster fire.
  20. maybe they can get a fourth if a team is desperate but yea I'm on board for his sake and ours. They need to build for the future at this point.
  21. So when Tyrod is moved next year and Mayfield takes over and Tyrod goes to his fourth team as a backup will that make him a journey QB? Stop being an idiot. Tyrod is a bum. Fitz is slighly better. He's also been a starter on Houston, NY, Buffalo, and most likely will take over for Winston who to this point hasn't been very good.
  22. they need to trade him for a draft pick if possible. Not sure what they could get. Hopefully a playoff team loses a RB. Maybe Pitt if Bell doesn't show. Goes back to Pennslyvania.
  23. And now Tyrod is on his 3rd team and will be gone by the end the year. Try actually making an argument about how Tyrod is better. Nobody said Fitz is a franchise QB he's just better than Tyrod.
  24. Get back to me when he ever throws for more than 300 yards in a game but don't hold your breath. He has two all pro wide receivers right now and what's he do today? Under 50% completion rate under 200 yards and a timely Interception at the end of the game. You are delusional if you think Tyrod is a better QB than Fitz. I guess Fitz did you wrong at some point though, maybe you lost some money on a bet or he had sex with your GF.
