2023 Extension? (Poyer/Edmunds/Knox/Oliver)
ColoradoBills replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your right. I keep forgetting they include the Edge Rushers in LB instead of DE. Truthfully it hurts the "classic" linebackers if you ask me. I went back and crossed out that statement. -
2023 Extension? (Poyer/Edmunds/Knox/Oliver)
ColoradoBills replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think so. If anyone I guess maybe Edmunds. If they did that it would be to get his replacement ready. I think Beane is pretty straight with his thoughts, and I get the feeling he doesn't like having to use them. -
2023 Extension? (Poyer/Edmunds/Knox/Oliver)

Spotrac has the Bills over next year's cap by $12M with them already adding $10M to this year's cap. Cap is probably going up more than that but by how much Beane and the other GMs know better than us. Bills won't be carrying over anything significant into 2023 from this year. Even though they show 55 players (59 but 4 are voids) next year a whole bunch of those guys won't be on the team by cutdown and Beane will have to restructure some contracts just to get the other depth players signed or replaced from this year's players. Ed Oliver is already on his 5th year option, so it won't get done until next season (probably in the summer). Knox is the first to get the decision after the season is up. I think he signs a fairly decent contract for both sides. Poyer is going to want longer terms and more money than Beane can afford, I think he walks in FA. Singletary will be testing the market and probably get what he wants and moves on. Then again, if he doesn't get the money he may stay. It's hard to estimate the RB UFA market. I truly have no idea what will happen with Edmunds. They would want to keep him, but I think he is the guy that will depend on where the cap is going. -
Would you be okay if Allen sat the entire preseason?
ColoradoBills replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's a good point. Josh has also said that just hearing a different voice in the helmet is strange. A few drives in preseason is ok with me. -
Albert Breer (MMQB) on the Dan Patrick Show
ColoradoBills replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall
The real problem the way I see it is, people can't tell the difference or even worse they refuse to care that there is one. -
From one "horse's ass" to another, Happy birthday Marv!

To be fair the Bills have spent a lot of resources on the DL and some of them did not pan out so well. Where I get confused is what was Beane to do? Should he abandon the problem of not getting pressure on the QB and stuffing the run because of what happened in the past? Does he say to the team "We can't figure this problem out so I'm going to ignore it and put all my resources into the offense? No, he is trying his best to balance the resources and fixing the DL at the same time. It sure is not easy, but I think this group of D-Linemen may be the answer. If so, it is a great balance of young players and mid-aged vets and Von Miller. The cap could work out fairly well with these guys too. The secondary with regards to the CBs may be in good shape for the next couple of years and the Ss are the only real question going forward. With Milano set and only 1 other LB starter needed, even if they move on from TE they may already have a replacement on the team. If all this can be achieved for the D, I have hope that a larger share of resources can go into the Offense in the next 2 years. I don't claim to know Beane's and McDermott's thoughts on this, but I can reasonably assume it's a definite possibility. They are not going to come out and say exactly what their plan is going forward, so the best I can do is an educated guess.

Where will Devin Singletary end up after this season?
ColoradoBills replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
FWIW Spotrac has his value at $5.2M per on a 3-year deal. I think with another decent year that's pretty close. -
Rd 6 pick 185 (6): CB Christian Benford, Villanova
ColoradoBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Now that I caught up on this thread about the Bills 6th rounder who is showing good things in camp, I find your post very interesting. Would be great if some camp followers looked into this. Well done! -
Same here. Especially someone whom Kromer has experience with.

Get well soon Jordan.

Old age is a B word!

Even PS players get a ring! Wow, first thing I thought of too. If Poyer is out for any significant length of time I wonder if it would be an open competition between the 2? Physically I think Hamlin is better suited for SS.

Week 2 of Camp - updates and talking points (OL??)
ColoradoBills replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your heritage also fits well with a lot of us from Western New York! The "Polonia" community on the East Side of Buffalo in the first half of the 20th century has a rich history. -
Thanks. I didn't listen to his presser (just the tweets you and others posted of it). Good to hear he is still cautious in early camp. Your statement about Sept 9 is totally right IMO. It's a long, long season!

Sure, it was a lot of signings, but those guys combined cap this year ($10M) is the same they paid for Star. I know a lot of fans wanted Scherff signed at G but that was for $16M per year. Beane and McDermott chose those 4 on DL and yes, the OL is thin in depth. We all have to live with it and see what happens.

You know something Don it's a little strange how some fans see the camp/preseason games. We constantly hear how no one wants starters to play the preseason BUT everyone freaks out when players are kept out of camp practices with minor injuries. It seems to me missing some time and resting these guys to get 100% is the smart thing. If the O-Line isn't fielding the starters until preseason games they can always get snaps with Keenum at QB. This seems to happen every camp under McDermott. Bills are known for holding these guys out and being overly cautious early in the year.

The $50M cap hit is not until 2025 and that is set up perfect for "restructure". It will push money into the 2027 and 2028 years where his cap hit is $40M. Perfectly timed for when his signing bonus runs out. Josh will cost money but that $50M cap hit won't happen. His contract is set up very well.

The only thing I heard is he was being held out for "soreness". I didn't hear what is sore.

LOL, it reads well even if you didn't mean it.
