  1. Samuel Shakir Coleman I'm starting to get some hope that at least one (maybe two) of these other guys can rejuvenate themselves to push the above 3 for playing time. Hamler Hollins Claypoole Cephus Shorter Shavers Isabella Thompson The UDFAs Each one, on their own, has the odds against them. But compared to other years, there is some inherent talent with these guys. The WR camp battles could get interesting. There is also a chance that someone else after June 1st joins the "longshots".
  2. LOL, I'll try again. First, I didn't say Big Ben's play was "garbage", so don't insinuate I did. Ben's play was falling off his last season. Even in 2020 when he had the 3800 yards, he threw the ball 608 times. In 2014 Ben threw the ball 608 times too. He had 4,952 yards. He wasn't the same QB at the end and everyone who watched football knows that was true.
  3. I would have liked Chark, but he signed for $5M. Beane couldn't sign him until after June 1st with the cap the way it is. Can't blame Chark for taking the money now.
  4. Big Ben should have been retired during the Claypoole years in Pittsburgh. It wasn't like Ben in his prime. Claypoole had 9 games and 51 snaps in Miami as a TE. I'm not expecting Claypoole to make the team............but he does have talent if he wants to change his ways. I give it a one in three chance he changes his ways.
  5. With Jones signing and the 1 UDFA that makes 8 so far. Plus the rookie camp invitee. You need camp bodies. I'm not sure what some of these other posters are worried about.
  6. Filling out the camp LB room with a vet like this is pretty good. Especially since they will be bringing Milano around slow in camp.
  7. For every 7.7 receptions Gabe gave up an interception to the defender. Compare that to Kincaid, who gave up an interception to the defender once every 36.5 receptions. These are receptions not targets, but I like this stat better. It's more of the risk/reward if you are the QB. I sure hope Coleman is more in line with Dalton!
  8. I'm sure by camp they will bring some real competition for Hamlin at Safety.
  9. You don't have any Safeties listed.
  10. This "position-flexibility" is always better but not mandatory. VPG is a Center and camp will show if he is the "heir apparent" Center in the coaches mind, even if it takes another year to get there. VPG could be the guy not dressing on game-day to start the season. If a IOL goes down with a major injury they have options to move up a G from the PS. The "flexibility" issue could be addressed by dressing a player with both T and G depth. That way VPG hones his skills until he starts. If the coaches like VPG in camp, then they will know that McGovern is eventually moving back to G. Of course, having him excel quickly to take the starting C role is by far the best scenario.
  11. Even if Beane could have kept most of the veterans they would not be as good as last season. This "transition" was needed however you want to categorize it. Offense is the key this season. Morse was good but getting pushed around too much. The Diggs situation is what it is. My 2 keys are the OL and Brady. IF the Center play is good, I see another year of experience and consistency providing a chance for superior OL play. Giving Josh Allen more time will be a huge threat to opposing Ds. A successful running game, when needed, is always a plus. Brady has a full off-season to formulate his plan. Good play designs and play sequencing will be the difference of just fighting for the playoffs. or being dominate. Looking forward to seeing what happens! Go Bills.
  12. DJ Chark signed a one-year $5M contract with Carolina last season. His stock did not rise. I think he will sign for similar (or even less) money this season. I'd feel better having him in camp. I don't see a big-name WR trade coming to Buffalo. Top 4 WR rotation: Samuel Shakir Chark Coleman The rest fighting for the other 2 roster spots would be good for me.
  13. It seems Elam is having a tough time with the zone work. If that's true I find it hard for him to do that at Safety. Big year for the guy, he has to find a spot somewhere, but I don't think it's Safety. Hyde coming back for 1 more year on an incentive-based contract is intriguing. He sure could help the rookie.
  14. Coleman is a rookie and will take some time to get in the groove. When it's all said and done it will be close to has the most yards. If Josh and Samuel get on the same page early, I think it's him. If not probably Kincaid. Not taking anything away from Shakir but Samuel and Kincaid should get more targets.
  15. I'm of the opinion that Brady can design some good plays for the type of talent he has on the team. I seen a lot of good at the end of last season. To be very good at the job of OC is calling the plays in the right sequence to set up the D to miss on a strategic play. I'm hoping he shows that this year.
  16. I see the role of UDFAs as pushing the rookies and bubble players hard during camp. The better the UDFA quality the better the camp competition. Quality UDFAs on the PS is a plus too. Every once in a while, a guy emerges who can make the team and contribute for a cheap cost. These guys serve a purpose even if they don't become stars.
  17. Ty Johnson has a $667K dead cap if cut. Ty has the inside track to make the team IMO. The thing I like about Ty the most was his 7 for 7 receptions last season and I like that he runs hard. The dead cap doesn't make him a lock so if he is beat out for the roster spot I wouldn't be upset.
  18. Chark is an interesting option and whether or not he is the guy I do believe Beane is bringing in a vet under 30 after June 1st.
  19. Brady will be the wildcard for the offense this year. We will see if he can scheme success with what he has to work with.
  20. No, it's not a joke. I won't change your mind, nor will I try.
  21. Neither did the Buffalo Bills to start the year.
  22. I agree with everything except the Jets. No way in hell I'm seeing them walk away with the AFCE on the 27th of April.
  23. First off having the balls to let all the old guard go that he could, instead of trying to patch things up and put the bill on the credit card.
  24. Anyone who didn't see that this a team in "transition" has been blind. After the departure of so many veterans (which I'm glad Beane did it all at once) with the exception of Von Miller, there can be no other opinion about the "changing of the guard". It doesn't mean that the team is hopeless when it comes to winning the division and attempting to go farther in the playoffs. You can define it as "uninspiring", but I see it as "realistic". The question is how fast it can be done and done right. I think he has done a pretty good job SO FAR. I for one believe that along with this change comes much more responsibility for rookies than we have seen in the past. It was obvious when a ton of 1-year deals for older UFAs were not signed as was done every year prior. Beane has a lot of fire power for next seasons draft and the cap will be in a much better position. Meanwhile, the team is not fully put together and I will see what work Beane can get done before September. Go Bills.
