If they win all three then a few things have most likely happened - the defense is legit and Allen is no worse than a competent game manger or better. If the defense can stop the run early and Allen does not turn the ball over, the Bills should wins these games by double digit points. Force either of these teams to pass frequently and the defense will have multi-turnover games - maybe even a defensive score. Daboll needs to protect Allen and the new line with a strong run game and quick passes.

Of those 15 to 20, 6-8 are usually XP's and another 6-8 are touchbacks. So it's even far less than 10% of the game. The only thing that matters on special teams is directional punting, FG accuracy, and not committing penalties. Returns and coverage units are mostly meaningless in today's game. And blocked kicks are the rarest of events and probably more about a blown assignment than rush ability.

It's now two weeks in the protocol. Most guys are practicing 3-5 days ago. This is a repeat concussion so they may be giving him some extra time. Another week and you really have to start worrying about his readiness to play game 1. If he misses this week, then he probably does no-contact stuff for a week, and then at best he gets some mild contact before the last pre-season game. There is no chance he dresses for the fourth game. Meaning at this point it is more likely than not he doesn't take a single snap in any pre-season game. Do I really care if he does? Not really. I think he can perform week 1 with no live snaps all pre-season. A guy of his talent should be able to execute at a high level game 1 without any live reps. Maybe it will taker a series or two to get used to the speed and force of impact. But if his brain is ok, I'm not worried...yet...

Everyone is gushing over Nelson. I thought you weren't supposed to draft an OG in the top 10? I mostly agree with the critique of Cosell's critique. Oliver is a DT. Just holding his own on most plays is a win from that position. It's early but Allen doesn't look any better than he did last year. I would love to see him just come out and have two drives going 9 for 11with about 85 yards. Clean and efficient. It doesn't help that there is not a TE healthy enough to play.

Why all the hype for Singletary after the Colts game? I watched all his runs. I saw nothing special. He broke one maybe two tackles. He was hesitant to hit the hole on his first few carries. By all accounts he has looked good in practice but first game action was pedestrian. I'm not even really saying he was bad but the board and the media made it seem like he was all world. Hope he can get better. If this is as good as he can be, he will be lucky to dress for most games. It will be Shady, Gore, and either Yeldon/Murphy that dress. I have not heard of him contributing on special teams. It's his first 6 carries, and the final three were better than the first three. So hopefully we will see more as the preseason progresses.

Gase is living off Manning. Just like every coach to leave New England is living off Brady and Belichick. Not a single one has done a dam thing without Brady at QB and Belichick as the head coach. The closest is Dimitroff in Atlanta. He has built a contender but has picked losers for head coaches.

It will be a challenge to replace Clay's blocking and the cap savings isn't that much. Not much upside to cutting him w en if he isn't that good. I've been on record that the cut Shady crowd is nuts. Agreed. Find a C or G aged 27 or 28 that will be a starter, re-sign Barkley, and sign a couple of depth corners and DE. That is all they need in FA. Then draft an OLB in round 1, followed by 5 offensive players for the line, WR, and TE.

It is now quite apparent that the win now and in the future was complete BS. This 2018 team was not constructed to win. I would contend that with TT and Richie this team would be in the hunt for a WC and an outside shot at the division with the Patriots coming to town. But McBeane were determined to blow up the roster and blow it up they have. So with Allen, Edmunds, and Star's play to date are you ok with the lost 2018 season. You can add in the nice find of Foster but also need to factor in that Zay is now 14 games closer to being a total bust and waste of multiple picks. Because this lost season and another wasted defense is the cost of drafting and developing Allen/Edmunds. For me, Allen is exactly what I thought he would be but I would have preferred him sitting behind TT and a shot at the playoffs in 2018. I simply don't trust McBeane to rebuild the offense. But as I've said before, if they found the franchise leaders in Allen/Edmunds then it is worth the lost 2018 season. But I live in Portland and only spend money for Sunday Ticket and travelled to Green Bay. What say you season ticket holders?

What the OP and this board is forgetting is there are multiple teams with tons of cap space. Beane overspent on Star, Ivory, and Murphy. Just like any other team they will have to overspend to lure free agents from other teams. There is simply too much cap space available.

I will reserve judgement on Beane. So far he is a C+. Missed or overpaid on almost every free agent. Wasted picks to move up and draft a LB who isn't in the top 3 rookie LBs. Edmunds might be the best of them all next year but so far he hasn't been worth the investment. Again he is so young so will reserve final judgement but he could have drafted another LB and kept a second round pick to use on the OL. But I wanted Allen and he got him and so far he looks fine. As I've posted multiple times if he gets the QB he gets a 2-3 year pass. This off-season is critical. He has to fix the line and find WR and TE. Add a pass rushing OLB as a critical need as well.

DeCastro and Nelson. Two guards taken in top 10. Don't tell the masses on here but it is perfectly fine to take an interior lineman in the top 10. The only downside is having to purchase playoff tickets.

Lol, neither of us really knows. But in-season you are probably correct. But I think they teach technique in the NFL quite a bit. Of course you can draft kids with great technique but my guess is they prioritize physical talent and think they can teach the technique

Ok that post is the exact opposite of what McD says all the time. Additionally they can't hit in OTAs so what else would they work on? Hughes has been a nightmare to defend all year. The rest are average. Star is a space eater. Yes but at OLB not DE.
