I think the days of "defense wins championships" are long over.

Dorsey will interview with Carolina this weekend for head coaching job
jkeerie replied to Mopreme's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Carolina should definitely look at an offensive minded head coach. Take Ken Dorsey....please! -
I echo this. We lost badly...but I'm not upset. When I saw Daquon Jones was inactive coupled with the snow, I knew the Bengals would run the ball successfully and that the Bills wouldn't because of Dorsey. I'm not down on McD because his calm demeanor and leadership got the Bills through a very rough season. I do hope he takes a hard look at his coaching staff and makes the appropriate changes. I hope Beane does the same with the players. The injuries exposed the lack of depth. This team hadn't been championship caliber since the beginning of the season and things were only getting worse. So...this team needs to reassess, refresh and regroup for next year. We're onto the off-season and the draft.

I have to agree with this. Even the rhetoric from the Bills the last few weeks has sounded like they were relieved they came through the storm, but you didn't hear a lot about actually playing the game. They looked flat even in pregame.

I’m over this defensive scheme. Bring in a new DC.

I think I finally have to agree. We need a more aggressive defense and that's not what Frazier coaches. I also was not impressed with Dorsey. It seems our offense worked in spite of him, not because of him. -
Agree. 1. We miss Hyde badly. Down to our 4th safety. Poyer playing poorly. 2. Losing Von was huge. Plus really missing Daquon Jones. He is easily our best DT. 3. O line has been awful all year. Plus Dorsey abandons the run to easily. 4. Gabe definitely a disappointment this year. Having said that...the posters on this board that want to blow everything up are ridiculous! Beane built this team based on our weaknesses last year. Too many key injuries wiped that plan out. Need a new plan for next year. Has to start with drafting oline, safety and WR.

Frazier, I believe, is regarded as too old. Everyone is looking for the younger successful coordinators. I think older coaches need the prerequisite of having won a Superbowl. -
Bills-Dolphins most watched Wild Card game in 9 years

Watching the replay...Romo consistently jinxed the Bills in this game. I was begging him to stuff a sock in it and shut the @$!# up! -
How confident are you the Bills beat the Bengals?

Excellent explanation. Thank you. -

I beg to differ regarding the NFL rules. The Bills and Ravens were the only teams in control of their own destiny going into that week 17 game. Buffalo wins out, they win the conference. Ravens win out, they win their division. Bengals could get the conference only by winning out coupled with a KC loss. So with the Bills v Bengals game cancelled, they put KC at number 1 by virtue of winning % and they awarded the Bengals the Division for the same reason. However...as accommodations for the Bills and Ravens losing the control over their own destinies and losing the conference and division, they put the AFCCG at a neutral field should KC and Buffalo meet, and they decided on a coin flip for a Ravens/Bengals playoff rematch. Winning % was used for seeding and no rules were changed with the exception of those two accommodations. -

NFL Network replay tonight, Tues, at 8 pm. Can watch it without palpitations. -
I thought his voice was still changing.

Their clock management took away the run which played a big part in their being able to move the football. They were left only with passing the ball which was not their strong suit.
-
Harbaugh coached like he didn't care. I've never seen such poor clock management.
-
Cincinnati didn't win this game. The Ravens lost it.
-
They gave him an Emmy instead.

Time.

Could it be the Vikings lack of defense?

The pessimism thread - That game didn’t go as planned

Our oline has to be better. Too much pressure on Josh. That gets exacerbated by all the deep throws needing to develop.
