  1. That's not what I was saying at all. My point was that anyone who would imply that a person died because someone who loved him/her didn't pray enough is just wrong and is attaching an aspect to God that is conditional. I don't claim to know God any more than the next person. But, I know whom I believe. I don't have the answers to all the questions nor do I claim to. There is randomness in this world. Bad things happen to good people and vice versa. That's actually what the book of Ecclisiastes is about..."all is vanity and striving after wind." Such things can drive one away from faith and believing that there even could be a God. For others, the opposite conclusion is just as possible.
  2. Neither am I. God does not promise prosperity and churches that preach that are gaining prosperity from their attendees. It's almost like they're turning religion into a ponzi scheme. In the words of Tevya from Fiddler on the Roof..."Would it spoil some vast eternal plan, if I were a wealthy man?"
  3. That's the biblical definition of faith..."Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Heb 11:1)
  4. Anyone who would imply that...does not know God.
  5. I never begrudge anyone on that note. Even Paul said, "Your faith have as a matter of your own conviction between you and your God."
  6. I think some are, but the majority of the fans are looking realistically at this game and thinking the Bills should win comforrtably. The Bills are the better team and the Dolphins will be playing a backup QB. Fortunately, the players don't think like the fans and take any team for granted. The Bills know that to advance, they need to play their very best in each of the upcoming games.
  7. I think the reason both these provisions, coin toss and neutral site was because there were only two teams in control of their own destiny going into the end of the season. If the Bills won out, they win the AFC and the number one seed. If the Ravens won out, they win their division by virtue of the tie breaker over Cinci. Everyone else...Chiefs and Cinci...needed a loss by another team to get the number one seed. So, without the Bills/Bengals game completion, the Bills and Ravens lost their opportunities. On the basis of the win percentage, Chiefs were awarded the number 1 seed with a win in the final week, and the Bengals, their division, irrespective of what happens in the final week. So...the competition committee decided that the AFCCG would be neutral if the Bills and Chiefs meet...as an accommodation for losing their opportunity to control their own destiny. They decided on a coin-flip for the Ravens/Bengals, if the Ravens won as an accommodation for losing their opportunity for the division. So...in my eyes, no one was "screwed," and the appropriate actions were taken starting with cancelling the game.
  8. You know...you are correct. I never count my chickens. Buffalo is the better team and SHOULD win handily, but those Dolphins are not just going to roll over. They still have guys that can get to the passer, and great receivers and backs that gave us fits last game.
  9. Maybe that's the good news hinted at on Twitter...that the Bills have worked out a contract extension.
  10. I practice more of a "disorganized" religion. I have faith and I do believe in God and the power of prayer. With so many people praying, I pictured the very beginning of the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" where everyone in the town was praying for George Bailey. Their prayers were echoing in the celestial heavens and God was listening.
  11. I'm watching the UC Health press conference now on the NFL Network. What an amazing recovery!!!!
  12. Tony Dungy said he spoke with Leslie Frazier, and Frazier was not at all certain how the defense would play today after the rough week.
  13. I'm pulling for the Rams. That would make tonight's game a win and in for both Lion and Packers.
  14. How many drops did Gabe have? If you say "3" then....
  15. Amid all the sloppy play this week, I think we have to realize that the Bills were likely emotionally spent. Didn't Nance say they only had one real practice this week? I expect with a normal week of practice and planning, the Bills will be more focused...both players and coaches.
  16. I understand...but even playing Flacco, that team didn't look great. Neither team played inspired football, particularly since Miami had so much to play for. Was it that the defenses were so good, or were both offenses inept?
  17. Oh...I agree. The secondary was better with Benford earlier in the year though.
  18. This defense should have Benford back. Elam got picked on like nobody's business today. I expect the secondary to be better. It's the playoffs. Lose and you're out. I think the Bills D will be ready.
  19. Rodney Thomas, Colts Safety just got an INT. He played in high school with Damar. He placed the ball on the 3 at the 30 and gave the heart gesture for Damar. Awesome!
  20. Especially with the product they're putting on the field!
