Beane said they had more players with 2nd round grades than 1st round grades. He didn't try to move up in the first because he didn't want to give up his 2nd round pick this year or mortgage next year's picks.
Don't look at that average and use that as your evaluation. Plus...it's merely a comparison of the Bills e v a l of Shakir vs KC's e v a l of Skye Moore. Still...look at what Shakir did late in the season and in the playoffs.
Okay. We don't trade down with the Chiefs. We pass on Worthy. And they draft him at 32 anyway. OH...we sure showed them!!!!
We did get fair market value using the draft charts. Happy Days did the computation.
We are not allocating our picks to the Chiefs. We traded back because we likely didn't have first round grades left on any players. Do we take Worthy to spite the Chiefs even though the Bills didn't want a 165 lb WR??? I don't think they made the move to save money. It's simply a practical bonus. We moved back because of value...and we improved our draft position in the lower rounds. We now have three picks tomorrow night instead of one.
Folks...think this through. The Bills obviously were not going to take Worthy. It's likely he would have fallen to the Chiefs anyway and the Bills get a 3rd rounder in the process.
Everyone that is upset with Beane...he can't force a trade! All of the pundits reporting that teams are open for business...don't know jack. Unless we're talking trades the magnitude of Draft Day! People, get real.
