I knew someone would bring him up. 😄
I agree. Still...other than escalation and inflation of QB contracts...what other criteria would he have to ask for a renegotiation? Perhaps in the next restructure to create cap space, the Bills would initiate a renegotiation.
When Josh reaches a Superbowl, maybe. For now other than he's a stud QB, he hasn't reached any of the criteria (MVP, SB, etc) that Burrough or Mahomes or Lamar have reached.
It doesn't matter that she wasn't "dissing him." It's the perception of the majority of people who heard it and retweeted it. I agree. I don't believe she had any ill-intent. Diggs could well forgive her...but again, it is a bad look for the organization. And it's especially hurtful in light of all the opinions that have been posted about Diggs since the end of last season. It adds fuel to that narrative.
The problem isn't Diggs' reaction. The problem is a representative of the Bills organization was caught on a hot mic dissing one of its star players. If she were a member of the press it would be different.
I'm actually wondering if she was just jawing, trying to impress the other male sports reporters around her with what she thought was a humorous take. Speaking as someone from her gender who worked in male dominant professions, it happens especially when you are young and not as "secure."
Tasker mentioned the other day that because of Josh's ability to run opposing defenses are attuned to not turning their back on the line of scrimmage and moving toawrd the line quickly. That's why screens etc don't work well for them. The defense is right there.
The Jets are the best versus 11 personnel. They are not effective versus 12 personnel. So the Bills played 12 personnel on 68% of the snaps. It was actually a good game plan. Josh just grew impatient.
