The number of people who apparently take pride in doing unpaid labor for their overlords' benefit is astonishing Like sure if you're doing it to get a raise or whatever, great, but having "pride in your work ethic" by allowing your own exploitation when you could have pride in, I don't know, being a present husband/father, learning a new skill, developing a new passion or hobby, etc. is just sad You are not your work, stop devaluing your labor and play with your kids or something, nobody lays on their deathbed thinking "gee I really wish I'd spent less time with my family and pursuing my own interests"

Are OTAs voluntary or not? He has no obligation to be there and Kitchens is going to have to learn how to deal with that better publicly.

I really don't get what your issue with my post is If he were this huge gamebreaking threat at WR he'd be getting drafted instead of DT #7 He's strong and fast in a straight line so of course a team is going to take him at some point, but the context we're talking about is a dude who a bunch of people wanted the Bills to draft at 9 that is falling because, newsflash, he's not very good

For pro football players? Abso-freakin-lutely Congrats, he's fast as strong, need a lot more than that to be a freak by pro football standards. His agility is utter trash and he's not good at the technical aspects of his position. Not a first-round talent. If he was truly a freak, he'd be gone already.

They aren't particularly difficult questions, the majority of the difficulty comes from the time crunch and the wonkiness of some of the word association questions For the most part it's like 7th grade level algebra with the equation setup packaged in a cute little paragraph with a red herring or two

SDNY Subpoenas Trump Inaugural Committee
Avisan replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
There was zero editorializing involved -His abuse of contractors is well documented -The Central Park Five incident is also well documented -Biff This is extremely basic, factual, easily verifiable information from a broad range of sources. You may decide that it doesn't affect your view of the political landscape, but the facts themselves are indisputable. -

They're facts, not factoids, on account of their being true -

Dude has been a scumbag of the highest order ripping off contractors, preying on the little guy, etc. for years Including publicly and loudly calling for the execution of five innocent young men Dude was literally used as the inspiration for cartoonishly evil businessman-villains Politics aside the man is despicable and if you're unable to recognize that he's unworthy of your trust or admiration that's on you, fam -

Jackson played ball, Chargers player held visibly on a cross, world of difference -

For what? Jackson played the ball, contacted the player somewhat but he got a thorough deflection well before the ball got to the receiver, it would have been a super tricky tack call if they'd thrown the flag. Any other team we'd have been moaning about ref overinvolvement. -

Their record since 2000 is incredible. Ref help or not their run of dominance is just unbelievable. They get it done on all sides of the ball year in and year out. -
It's... an internet thing. Started last year afaik.

EJ Manuel: What went wrong after year 1?
Avisan replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This isn't particularly correct, EJ would have gone at the end of the first or beginning of the second had we not taken him at 16. It was a weak year for QBs so everyone in the draft got bumped up. It wasn't a reach the year we picked him, and we traded down to get additional picks before doing so. EJ is probably the best QB from that draft class by a hair, so really you can't knock the pick too much. -

With respect to AP in particular, he was absolutely in the wrong the way he treated his son. What that kid went through was awful. AP had pretty recently experienced trauma (baby momma's BF beat APs son to death) about a year prior and based on texts he sent he was using the beating to lash out at her/make her feel hurt. Really messed up, and the kid absolutely doesn't deserve it, but it's a pretty common/normal response for people to exhibit, particularly if they didn't have the best parental role models in their own life. It's likely AP is just reflecting his own childhood experiences in his parenting style, for better or (most definitely) worse. He isn't a monster. He's probably a pretty awful parent that thinks he's doing the right thing. I hope his kid turns out okay, because the kid's got an uphill battle ahead of him. -

No, but there is boatloads of evidence that non-physical discipline has better outcomes in a variety of categories On the flip side there isn't a whole lot of research into any downsides of avoiding physical discipline, since that angle hasn't been much of a target of study Given nature's disciplinary response across mammals usually involves nips/swats/etc., and despite our cognition we're mostly just animals, I would be surprised if there were zero positive benefit. It likely would have weeded itself out if physical feedback were only harmful. Beyond that, kids under a certain age literally cannot be reasoned with because they lack the necessary cognitive development for it. If physical discipline is your go-to/something you enjoy, however, you're almost definitely just messing up your kids
