Kansas City/Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football
gtw3 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bucs completely surrendered control over the game by not going for 2. Sure they could have been stopped and lost by 1 but at least it would've been dictated by them. Asking your D to stop KC with time left, get a coin flip or stop them again and then still drive down to score to take the lead, when you couldve just gone for 2.... Gutless play call. Especially on the road, in Arrowhead. -
The Mt. Rushmore of Seattle bands... people are passionate about "their" band, between the 4 big ones. But most all of the remaining members of Alice, Pearl Jam and Nirvana have at one point credited Soundgarden with paving the way for their collective success. For those going to the game, the Museum of Pop Culture is pretty cool and has a large section devoted to the local music scene, past and present.

10/6/2024 - Bills at Texans post game thread.
gtw3 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am typically a defender of McDermott, but you can't defend the decisions at the end of this game. He is going to face heavy criticism all week and he deserves it. The defense really stepped up in the second half and made game-changing plays. I hope everything is OK with Josh. -
Are they 3 of the worst teams in the league or is there such a disparity because of how badly we beat them? Jacksonville has been competitive in nearly all of their games and Arizona has had flashes of looking good, including their big win over LA. The dolphins are on a third string QB so they are a tough measure but going into that game, most people in the media had them picked to win. It is easy to say that a team sucks because we beat them by a billion, but don't completely discredit or dismiss the team that DID the ass kicking. Not everyone is beating them like that.

I struggle to understand why some fans can't see the greater season through the vacuum of one game. Our "slow" defensive backs essentially eliminated MHJ, Hill, Waddle, Kirk, and Thomas Jr. in three consecutive weeks. They don't run down an all-time great RB who has a full head of steam, running untouched downhill and our defensive backs are too slow or not athletic enough. This board so far this morning has a "Josh Allen has lost a step" thread and now this one too... geesh

Win the next 2 and we will be sitting pretty comfortably in the division and in the conference, especially if the Jets lose to the Vikings this week. I expect a bounce back game this week.

Some of you need to take a deep breath and relax. Maybe go take a walk or something. Play fetch with a dog or watch the sunset over Lake Erie. It will be ok.

The Jets loss today helps this one not hurt quite so much. 3-1 and on to Houston. Get healthy and stack some Ws again

Took 30 minutes to start playing ball. We started to make some plays and then that atrocity of a play call pretty much ended whatever hopes we had. You can't play timid, and we did on both sides of the ball for most of the night. We looked like our defenders were stuck in their heads thinking about what their gaps/lane responsibilities were instead of just attacking them and playing fast. Tyler Bass is my biggest concern moving forward. Everything else, learn and move on.

If Hopkins becomes available, would you want Beane to trade for him?
gtw3 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd say no. Especially because Antonio Brown, Zach Ertz, JJ Watt and Brandon Aiyuk were all just spotted last night at Duffs. -

Does anybody else prefer to watch Bills games alone?
gtw3 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
If I can't be at the stadium, i prefer to watch it alone. The two extremes in this scenario I guess. My dad and I pretty much share the same brain when it comes to watching the Bills so I will watch them with him, when I can. My ex used to always say stupid stuff like, "If it makes you that upset then why don't you just turn it off?" ...and that's why she's the EX. -
I wouldn't wish this on any fan base. We all lived through this. The Chargers do seem to be the "in between jobs" friend who randomly crashes on different peoples couches until their welcome is worn out and they are asked to leave.

This may be the most depressing post I have read on here

I never thought that I would ever root for a Boston team again in my life, and I wouldn't really consider it to be rooting for them now. But go Patriots tonight. My answer is that it constantly changes based on the scenarios and how the seasons play out.

Week 3, Jagoffs v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
gtw3 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
27-17. Gabe scores. So does Coleman. Jimbo with another big game. Groot, Ed and Von feast. Go Bills. -
I hate playing the Jags. There are a few people in the league that tend to give Josh trouble. Hines-Allen is one of them. We will need to win our man coverage downs and have the O-line hold up and keep Hines-Allen out of the back field. Josh kills defenses when he sees nothing but the back of the defender's jerseys. I don't think they will take the spy off of him throughout the game. I would imagine a heavy dosage of someone like Oluokun with eyes on Josh. He is a tackling machine. Utilize Cook out of the back field and the quick hitters to Kincaid and Samuel. Hopefully that'll free up a 1-on-1 over the top to MVS. Go Bills

The Bills beat the Cardinals because… (superstition reasons only)
gtw3 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
My ship is currently in-port in San Diego so I decided to go to PB Local, the local Bills Backer bar in San Diego. i got there with about 3 minutes left in the second quarter. So... yeah, i showed up and we started to dominate. You're all welcome. -
Never been much of a "signature" kind of guy but I would really like to have a conversation with him. He had one heck of a ride in the league from draft day to retirement. Imagine the stories he could tell if he opened up and was honest.

I was thinking about how this offseason feels like it could be a different version of what the bills did in 89. For those not old enough to remember, the Bills had some success in the late 80s, making it to the AFC Championship in 88 and then losing a divisional game against the Browns the following year in 89. It was late in that 89 season/playoffs that the Bills discovered their K-gun offense. That Browns game ended with a Ronnie Harmon drop in the end zone. He criticized Kelly's throw and that offseason he was moved. They came back the next year with the new offensive mentality and lit the league on fire. We have had some success. Towards the end of this season and into our playoff games we shifted our focus on offense and had a playoff game where we had a skill player drop what could have been a game winning touchdown, who then criticized the QB and was subsequently moved in that off-season. That year following that 89 loss was the greatest Bills team of the superbowl era. I can only dream that our 2024 team finishes the job.

Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Round 1 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
gtw3 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Usually will never hate on a Offensive Linemen getting picked, unless it's Cole Strange. I am just surprised because it seemed like Bowers was such an obvious pick for the Jets there.
