Wow. That's wild. And wasteful. -
Bills now have the 6th youngest starting lineup in the NFL...

I always feel like this stat means little to nothing. The difference between the oldest teams and the youngest teams is so minimal. -

I wonder. Have they ever given it to the same team before? I bet they don't like to do that.

Ok, but even when the Bills lose, it is always a very close game. No other coach in the league keeps it close like McDermott has. I would say that is an example of his team always being ready to play and ready to compete. Even Andy Reid can't say that. His team got blown out by the Broncos last year and lost at least one other game by multiple scores. So, I see what you are saying, but I think Bills fans are just incredibly spoiled by the fact that the Bills are so prepared and so competitive in every game (literally EVERY game), so when things go even a little bit poorly, they make statements like these. It has caused expectations to skyrocket compared to most teams, even the really good ones.

You know, I thought there had been a resurgence at QB in the NFL, but looking at that list, I feel like there are a bunch of decent QB's but very few elites. I saw Lamar Jackson at 4 and scoffed a little, but who should be above him from down the list? Compare the crop of QB's to what we had in 2010. Tom Brady, prime Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, and Phillip Rivers. I'm not sure we'll see another era of QB greats like that again.

Long-term future of the Bills defensive backfield?
MJS replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
People like to always talk about corners converting to safety, but how often does that actually ever happen? Not too often. The issue with Douglas is that he has always had a modest athletic profile, so the thought is that when he gets older, his drop-off will be steep because he never had much athleticism or speed to start off with. -
Trap games aren't real. What is real is the "any given Sunday" thing. There isn't a lot separating the best teams from the worst teams. You beat me to it. There has been enough analysis to show that trap games aren't actually a thing, but the narrative persists. Yes, the drop stats are always much lower than they should be. I guess if it is contested at all it doesn't count? But there are for sure catches that are drops, and 100% the receiver's fault, that don't get marked at drops.

The Ripoff Report: Headaches and Numbers
MJS replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, and it is also a medical fact that some guys don't ever get back to what they were, especially when they are further along in their careers and have other injuries that have piled up. I think this is what Tre White is now. -
I'm out too in Survivor. I picked the Ravens. My 2nd choice was the 49ers, and they also lost, so it was just meant to be. I couldn't pick the Chargers because I picked them week 1. So, I'm out early this year. Lame! I went all the way to the end last year.

The Ripoff Report: Headaches and Numbers
MJS replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
How do you know he isn't 100%? Is that being reported anywhere? -
I was saying in the offseason that the Ravens could be worse than many thought. They lost a lot of talent, especially on defense, and that was not being talked about. Meanwhile, the focus was all on the roster turnover for the Bills. So, I'm not surprised that they are having some struggles. They simply aren't the team they were last year. But, I still expect them to have a winning record and potentially make the playoffs. But what are their weapons, really? They have an aging RB, a couple of nice TE's, Zay Flowers, and then a bunch of guys. I don't think they have that impressive of a receiving room. But even if they did, Lamar Jackson hasn't ever been a receiver friendly QB.

The Bills only had one flag against them in their game.
-
Oh, it does look like his helmet was starting to come off a bit.
-
Yeah, he took his helmet off. But he convinced the refs. Good for him.
-
It has been abysmal for most of the big name TE's in fantasy.
-
Ray Ray was looking good until he did the dumbest thing you can do in football: punching someone in the facemask. For one thing, you'll get flagged for sure, but for another thing, all you are going to do is hurt yourself.

I was going to say something similar. Not much to be interested in for me.
