The Bills stopped the Chiefs and gave the ball back to Josh Allen and the offense to go win it with 3 minutes left. And they didn't do it. The defense got a turnover. They had multiple stops. They held them to 3 in the red zone a couple of times. I think the Bills offense needed to do a little bit more. They continually got stuffed on their QB sneak plays and scrambles. They didn't adjust. They didn't try anything too aggressive.
We knew the Bills defense was not great. They performed as well as could be expected, in my opinion. There were also a couple of critical calls by refs that really helped the Chiefs, including the turnover on downs that Josh Allen clearly converted.
I'm over it. You literally just have to force yourself. It takes willpower. After the loss, I took a deep breath and let it go. It's just sports. It's just entertainment. I'm a grown man and won't allow it to get me down. Does it suck? Yes. Is it disappointing? Yes. So, leave it at that. It doesn't have to mean anything more and it certainly does not have to impact your mood.
I don't think anyone choked. Maybe Kincaid for not catching that. He was brought in because of his great hands. He hasn't been a difference maker all year. He had a chance to make a critical play. The wall was in his hands and he dropped it.
But the Bills fought hard for 4 quarters and just didn't get it done. It was a close game. The maddening part is how clear it is that the Bills are evenly matched with the Chiefs and SO CLOSE to beating them, but keep coming up just short at the end of games.
I'm not talking about normal, healthy nervousness about the game. There are some fans who taken it too far, though, and allow the game of football to negatively impact their moods, family, and relationships.
How doss Jim Johnson play into it? Because McDermott and Spagnuolo both worked under him, right? I'm not as aware of the coaching trees on the defensive side.
Cool. There is no doubt that virtually every team runs at least some west coast offense principles in their offenses.
Although, I'm not sure it makes sense for the defensive coaches. It would be interesting to see if there is a similar link on the defensive side where everything stems from.
