  1. Yeah, that is huge. The safeties were already average at best, so became a real weakness with one of the starters out. And losing our best player on defense in Benford was a tremendous blow, especially since the game plan was to mix it up and play a lot more man coverage. Going from an elite corner to a shaky, inexperienced bust in Elam was really impactful negatively.
  2. I think we need better players. But yeah, they need to continue to evolve the scheme. And they have been. They ran a lot more man this year and blitzed more. They ran that odd mirror defense with Milano spying that was extremely effective against Denver and Baltimore in the playoffs. That was a really nice scheme. A good pass rusher would really go a long way...
  3. I legitimately believe McDermott is a really good coach and I would be bummed to lose him. That day might come eventually, but I have always been a fan of McDermott. The defense lacks talent and difference makers. And previous years had key injuries in the playoffs.
  4. Frasier had a year left? I thought his contract was expired as well.
  5. He can't pass block, so he isn't on the field during two minute drives or on 3rd down. He is a 50% of the snaps back. Yeah, he is excellent for what he does, but there's a reason he isn't on the field in key situations. No way should he be making more than 10 million per year given the limitations of his game. Every single back on that list is an 80% of the snaps kind of back. Cook is not. They did play him for one snap and he got destroyed trying to pass block. He is a liability when they need to throw it, so he doesn't play those critical downs where passing needs to be an option. He just doesn't have the frame for it.
  6. Shouldn't it be a record every year because the population increases every year? They need to find a way to normalize the ratings from a base year, similar to how they do inflation. Or just report the percentage of viewers to non viewers. The Chiefs getting pummeled might have actually HELPED ratings. I guess we'll never know.
  7. That's impressive if you called it. I wouldn't even know where to start to look up potential special teams coordinators.
  8. There's a great culture with this team. It is a real thing to be proud of.
  9. Very true. They haven't been good since the early 2000's.
  10. Getting attention and people talking about all the wrong things and not about cancer.
  11. That looks like nothing to me. You can't even see his hands when he passed him. He could have given him a quick five and then went to Kelce.
  12. It got people talking about boobs and the appropriateness of ads, not about cancer. If anything, their approach distracted from their goal.
  13. Who is transitioning to man coverage? The Bills?
  14. Crosby would be amazing. Two years younger than Garrett, too.
  15. Ok, I like boobs as much as the next guy, but I sure didn't like them airing that commercial during the superbowl when my kids were watching, and there are kids all over the nation watching. I guess I am old fashioned, though...
  16. I've found Ravens fans to be pretty insufferable this year. And, of course, Jets fans are perhaps the most delusional. She has become what she used to sing about in her early years: "She wears short shorts, I wear t-shirts, she's cheer captain, and I'm on the bleachers..." She used to be a normal girl, and now she is a complete elite, fake, feminist pop star. I find her pretty distasteful now. But I like some of her music, admittedly.
  17. Benford getting hurt was also a big factor. We went from a really good corner to a shaky, mistake prone Elam.
  18. They did it by playing the Bills normal defense. Except they have the dline to actually get pressure.
  19. That's not what I said. I said they did not just play soft man. Yes, I did also mention that they blitzed a lot in my first post, because they did. But keep doubling down. You're wrong on all accounts. In fact, it is the exact opposite of what you claimed. So, now you are just trying to drag those who pointed it out through the mud instead of owning up. Typical Einstein.
  20. The Eagles got pressure with their front four and dropped everyone else into coverage. That's why they succeeded. It is what McDermott has always wanted to achieve.
  21. I didn't mention pressure at all. What are you talking about?
