Maybe Oliver freed up Bosa.
-
I agree. I think it was a solid 1st game from him. I don't think he is an elite game wrecker, but he looks like he can be very good if he stays healthy. And if he gets more attention from defenses, that hopefully frees up Rousseau.

Down 40-25 with around 7 minutes left and this is what we get from JA

Completely ignoring the fact that Henry, not Jackson, carried their offense up until that fumble... -
I guess I don't understand the slide rule, because I thought they spotted it when you begin the slide, which was clearly before the 1st down marker and where they spotted it, but then the rules expert guy said it should be spotted when his knee touched the ground. So, I thought the refs got it right, but they said he got it wrong.

Just give the defense a pass on yesterday's game and see how they do going forward. Really. We do not match up well against the Ravens. But hey, we still find ways to beat them.

9/7/25 Post Game Thread - Bills vs Ravens SNF
MJS replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
You don't know what you are talking about. What is the McDermott defensive philosophy according to you, and then tell me the defensive philosophy of last night's game. And explain to me how the defense hasn't adjusted, please. Do you even know what you are watching, or are you just parroting things you are hearing? The Bills had a COMPLETELY different style of defense than they have in the past yesterday. Tons of man coverage and blitzing. Dorian Williams played a ton in base defensive packages with three linebackers. -

Just Ravens and Lamar Jackson fans, really. -
He doesn't make the wow throws. He can fire it in there and hit open receivers with the best of them. He is very accurate. But you don't see him dropping it into zones over defenders, or hitting tight windows, or throwing with great anticipation. Part of it is his reliance and trust in his athleticism, I'm sure. Why make a really tough throw when you can easily scramble and pick up yardage?
-
I still think Lamar isn't an elite passer of the football. I'd take Josh Allen, Mahomes, Burrow, or even Herbert over him in a situation where you are down multiple scores and need to pass yourself out of it. Jackson is an elite QB, but he doesn't have the elite passing ability. Not that he is bad. He isn't. He's a good passser. He just isn't at the level of those other guys. As a total package, he is really special, though.

He was awesome all game long. He really came to play.
-
Both were in the wrong, but why were they that close to the fans anyway? They were doing a victory lap right next to the stands of the opposing team? That's not normal.
-
Normally I would push back on such a comment, but the early game play calling was so gutless. You have to let Josh push the ball down the field. They were trying to get the ball out of his hands immediately on every snap. It worked some, but then the Ravens adjusted. Allen needs time and room to be special. He can't be hampered in like how he was in the early game. Brady should take note.

In order: Josh Allen Ed Oliver Keon Coleman James Cook Matt Prater (Weird that he is a Bill) Dalton Kincaid Can't give the defense too much more props outside of Oliver because they gave up 40 points, but Benford and Strong were also solid. Honorable mentions. Spencer Brown had some nice run blocks as well. He can be another honorable mention.

Ramsey was clutch that last drive.
-
JJ Watt is a pretty good commentator, actually.
-
That's a bad call. He's going for the tackle on Fields.
-
That was 100% intentional grounding by Rodgers. He was not outside the tackle box.
-
Metcalf is so explosive. Wish we had him.
-
I've never even checked the schedule here.

The Jets offense is as exciting as watching paint dry.

Everyone during the drought was complaining we never had prime time games, haha.

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse

Her face looks artificial. -
They are missing their top two receivers, though. Hut Kelce just isn't a huge difference emaker like he used to be. Mahomes is the only elite offensive talent they have now. So, it just looks like he is doing everything himself out there. Their secondary seems pretty gettable. Their defensive line is pretty stout, though.
