Turn it on in the background while I do other things. Sorry, this is not the superbowl. I'm not nearly as invested as some of you.

Joe Marino's Bills specific draft board: Horizontal & Vertical
MJS replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This isn't a mock draft. -
Oof - the penalty for being good, but not good enough

Lamb, Jefferson, and Aiyuk are excellent. -

Joe Marino's Bills specific draft board: Horizontal & Vertical
MJS replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
He has been saying this for months now. He likes Legette more than Brian Thomas. This is not a draft projection, this is how he graded them. He is higher on Legette than most. He isn't trying to be controversial. When you grade players, production is secondary. You are looking at traits and skills. Dawson Knox had ZERO touchdowns in college. Zero. But he was still seen as a 2nd or 3rd round pick because of his traits and skills. You have to try to project all of these guys into the NFL. Some with tremendous production end up flopping in the NFL (Zay Jones, although he picked it up later in his career some). -
QB's always get over drafted, though. I think he is trying remove that aspect in his grades.

If you thought Denver and Houston's new alternate uniforms were bad...
MJS replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was going to say the same thing. They are different, and definitely very old school looking. Wouldn't be bad for a game. -
I'm not old and I agree with you.

Legette. We already have a McConkey in Shakir.

Those actually look good. When are teams going to realize that going back to the basics is what looks the best?
-
Good to start underrated. But I think they lose credibility by having the Dolphins above the Bills. How many years do we need to do this? The Dolphins get overhyped in the off season only to lose the division to the Bills. The same thing will happen this year. I'm more concerned about the Jets with Aaron Rodgers, because they are a complete unknown. We know the Dophins. If you think the Bills have a problem getting over the hump, what do you think about the Dolphins? The Ravens and Cowboys are predictably overrated, like they always are. The Eagles are flawed. The Bengals get a pass for last year, but they weren't exactly looking great before Burrow went down anyway. I'm not sure how much higher the Bills should be, but the teams above them are not necessarily better, in my opinion, and the case could be made that some of them are worse.

What's your secret to immortality?

I guess the world will never know.

Probably none, but I was never a QB. I bet I could catch a couple of passes, though. I was a pretty good receiver in my day. 6'3" and I could run a 4.5 40. Probably couldn't run a 5.5 these days, though. Come on. I could complete a tap pass or quick shovel pass to a TE or running back... if I don't fumble the snap. I've never lined up under center to receive a snap before. I'm more worried about that.
-
Yeah, I've made comments about his effort and I always have a ton of people saying "all receivers do that sometimes". I think that is bull. Diggs was clearly checked out mentally before leaving.
-
Absolutely. I believe the Athletic did a ranking of each NFL roster before the draft and the Bills were 4th. Anyone who thinks this team is going to be a lot worse this year is just being pessimistic. We still have a top 5 team in the NFL and will make the playoffs. The Dolphins and Jets have good rosters too, though, so we'll see what they can do. The division is no cake walk, but the Bills should be the favorites, still, in my opinion.
-
If the Dolphins take Worthy, I'll just laugh. How much would he even move the needle? Receiver and speed is already a strength for them. It would be a dumb pick, in my opinion.
-
You'd think a Bills fan would be less likely to suggest this. There are organizations like Green Bay who's fans probably think franchise QB's are easy to find. Their fans should be the ones saying to trade a franchise QB for draft picks.

You have a total of 34 posts on this board since you joined in 2017, and this is what you wanted to be one of them?
-
We'd be the laughing stock of the league for the next 20 years. Half of first round QBs are busts. Even of the ones who aren't busts, the chance of one of them becoming a top 2 or 3 QB like Josh Allen is very small. Trading Josh Allen is imbecilic, regardless of the return.

Not from me. He is the one guy I hope they steer clear from in round 1. Motivation issues. Not coachable. Gives up on plays, even plays he is targeted. Not dynamic with the ball in his hands. Plays slower than his 40 time. The weird stuff about diabetes and how he handles it coming out. I do not like what I hear about him, regardless of how talented he is physically. He doesn't sound like a guy the Bills would be high on, anyway. I'd let some other team find out about him. There are plenty of other talented receivers.

Can you define this career path? You are saying that Belichick became an offensive guru (which he didn't. His offensive coordinators always ran the offenses), so is that your question? Or do you mean will McDermott win as many superbowls? Or do you mean leave the team in 20 years and not be able to get a job?

Epic, Hypothetical Trade Scenario: Would ya?
MJS replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn't do it for anything. Do you know how difficult it is to get a top 3 QB? Guys like Josh Allen don't come around very often. I don't care how many 1st round picks you have. You are not likely to get a QB as good as him. I guarantee you they have NOT considered it. Because they aren't stupid. Beane said he would trade himself first. He knows that there is no chance of that happening.
