I think he would be a WR 3 or 4 here.
-
Solid, but a lot of drops. I think Beane is over that. He moved on from Diggs and Davis who both had drop issues last year, and brought in Coleman who has excellent hands.

Keon Coleman: Josh Allen texted me “You’re the guy I want”
MJS replied to Slippery Rubber Mats's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, exactly. Allen didn't tell them before the draft there is one single WR he wants and it is Coleman. It was more like, who out of these 3 or 4 receivers (Worthy, Legette, McConkey, and Coleman perhaps) would Allen like the best, and Allen said Coleman, but I'm sure he was fine with a number of receivers. -
Really? I prefer Shakir and Samuel over him. And Coleman needs to come in and develop and get playing time, and I would think he would show he is better too.
-
He did it earlier because they have Higgins and Chase now. So Boyd was pushed down the depth chart.
-
I disagree. I think Boyd can play outside and inside just like Shakir. He has the size. If it isn't Boyd, I wouldn't even bother with any of the other receivers. They are all JAGs. Just roll with what we have outside of potentially adding camp bodies.
-
Keep crying. It doesn't do any good. McDermott and Beane are completely safe. They are both well respected around the league. They have built a great franchise that wins tons of games, including winning playoff games. And they unfortunately haven't gotten over the KC Mahomes hump, nor has anyone else, really. They'll have another crack at it this year, and for the foreseeable future.
-
I guess that leaves just Tyler Boyd for me.
-
Yannick Ngakoue or Bud Dupree would be nice. Similar to the Floyd signing last offseason. Of the receivers, only Tyler Boyd or Corey Davis move the needle much for me. Some are saying Boyd is only a slot, but I could see him and Shakir rotate outside and inside. They both have the capability of playing both. Boyd is 6'2". He can play outside. I don't think we need to sign veterans at the other positions you mentioned.

I don't think so. He is older and slowing down, in my opinion.

What's the point of this team's philosophy?
MJS replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do the Chiefs have a good QB? Do you know what their style of offense was last year? Take what the defense gave them in the passing game, and run it a lot. Defenses are dropping into coverage and forcing offenses to take the underneath stuff. They are forcing offenses to be patient. You are behind on offensive and defensive trends. It isn't 2019 anymore. The best offenses are running the ball more and putting bigger bodies on the field. -
Fact vs Fiction: "Keon Coleman is not a separator"
MJS replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. I think a lot of us were looking for a potential #1 receiver. Someone who could be elite. I'm guessing the Bills didn't see any of these receivers in the draft becoming that, outside of the top guys who got taken. So, they found a guy who could replace Gabe Davis. A big bodied guy who can work the deep and intermediate areas of the field. But he has WAY better hands, better athleticism, and can develop into a better route runner too. -
Fact vs Fiction: "Keon Coleman is not a separator"
MJS replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall
From what I can gather, he wasn't always put in positions to succeed there. They were running screens with him. Like, what? Also throwing prayers up to him when double or triple covered or when the defender has established leverage. There were consistently under thrown balls to him, causing more contested catch situations than needed (and having to wait for a ball and the defender getting back in the play makes it harder for a receiver than just a normal 50/50 ball). I actually think he might do much better in the pros with a much better QB throwing to him and not being the focal point of the offense. Of course, he'll also be going up against better talent, but I expect he will be used more appropriately than he was in college. Well yeah, why was he running go routes all the time? I think he was mismanaged in college. They had him doing everything, including a lot of things that played to his weaknesses, not strengths. -
Draft Analysis - We're All Debi from Depew
MJS replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't watch college football. I don't watch film. I look at mock drafts and player rankings. I look at measurables like height and weight, 40 time, and other combine results. I then watch highlights and breakdowns from other people. That's how I fashion my opinions. I don't have any delusions that I know more than anyone, especially the professionals. I think a lot of fans do about the same as I do and then somehow develop these extreme opinions with massive conviction. That's what I don't get. They haven't done the work to warrant such strong opinions. There are a few here who do watch some film and actually evaluate the players. I respect their opinions more, but they are still doing it only at a hobby level. -
New Bill - former Lion Quintez Cephus signed (Update: Now released)
MJS replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dang it! We didn't sign Jerry Rice in his prime??? Beane is trying to destroy the Bills and all goodness in this world! Although, Rice ran a 4.71 40. So, he probably WOULD sign such a bum. -

If you’re upset about the WR room - BLAME DIGGS
MJS replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Diggs sucked by the end of the year. Diggs also sucked in every single playoff elimination game. For being a superstar, he never showed up in the playoffs. He was an afterthought in the offense for half the season. It doesn't take much to replace the version of him we had last year. -
If you’re upset about the WR room - BLAME DIGGS
MJS replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not upset. I'm excited for guys like Shakir and Samuel to step up. And Coleman to come in and grow playing with Allen. There will be some growing pains, but I really like Shakir and Samuel. And Coleman is an upgrade over Davis, in my opinion. We don't have a superstar receiver, which means Allen will deliver the ball wherever he sees fit without having to worry about a Diva. We don't have to throw screens to Diggs anymore. Samuel should be way better suited for that. Oh, and Kincaid is easily positioned now as the #1 weapon. He should have a monster year and take his place as an elite TE in the NFL. I'm excited. -
UDFA signing thread. 10 Signed 5 camp invites as of 07:39, 28 April
MJS replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ok, what is the connection with Utah? Beane seems to be really focused there. Kincaid, Bishop, and now this guy. Zach Moss from a few years ago. Or it could be a coincidence, I suppose. -
I think the team will be just as good, if not better, than last year. Last year we had all the names, but they were all injured (Milano, White, Jones, etc.) or just lacking productivity for various reasons (Diggs, Davis, Miller, Poyer, Hyde, etc.). So, on paper we are worse, but given that all those veterans were not contributing last year, we're actually better this year. I think much better. So no, I'm not tempering my expectations or bracing for a down year. The Bills are going to contend for the AFC East and make the playoffs. They have as good of a shot this year of making the superbowl as last year, given the injuries and nuances that the team faced last year, including a mid-year coordinator change.

Yes, and it isn't even close.
