  1. Goodwin spent his career here prepping for track and field. I believe this led to him not being in football condition and getting hurt a lot. Plus he was noted to drop balls. I wish him nothing but luck, but his production here (or lack thereof) is as much his fault as the coaching staffs. Woods on the other hand I blame on the coaching staffs. The guy has skill. Showed he had skill here. He was even a good blocker in the WR position and would have helped a lot this year. Unfortunately, the Rams paid him well. Again, no I'll will for the guy and hope he does well.
  2. I do agree, we have many holes to fill. Many. We have to have an offset son in FA like last year. Find me the Hyde's and Poyers of the world. Guys that fit what we want to do here. Also, find it ironic you use Wilson as the example of what you would like to find. I'm sure you know the story of how he was high on Buddy Nix's draft list and we wanted him. Seattle just drafted him 1 round higher than we planned. We just have 2 separate thoughts...no Biggie. You are more conservative based on past drafts of QBs by the Bills. I'm more open to taking a chance. I guess we will see how the QB process plays out!
  3. I didn't say he "fit" any offense. Believe me, I'm really looking for ward to his departure. I know his shortcomings. You know his shortcomings...but appears Dennison does not. There are things Taylor does do that aren't bad...and Dennison rarely took advantage of any of them. That's what I was speaking about...Dennison not Taylor. His play calling is awful, he doesn't comprehend how to call plays that set something up later in the game. He does not suit anything to who is on the field. His play calls in the last 2 minutes of a half or game are just epically bad. He needs to go.
  4. Losman absolutely was. Manuel was projected, along with Geno Smith as a first rounder by many. It was a poor draft for QBs. We knew it at the time. JP, well he was the 4th guy taken at the position. First 3 guys are in the discussion for a gold jacket when they retire. When you look back, yes both were bad picks. One was 4th in a strong class and the other was the first QB taken in a weak one. This draft is "projected" as a strong class for QBs. I'd gladly roll the dice on the 3rd or 4th best viewed guy this year as opposed to the top QB most years. Yea, we could end up with a Losman...but we could just end up with a Big Ben.
  5. No, didn't miss your point just completely disagree with what you said. You're content with taking fliers on second team QBs and hoping you can find a journeyman that's just good enough to get by until one pans out. That's great. I'm not. I'm sick of seeing guys like Tyrod and Fitzpatrick. I want a franchise QB. I'm not saying to blow the was of picks on one at the top. All I said at the start was if you don't mind a QB in the 2nd...be prepared to take him in the first. The whole notion of "overdrafting" and "reaching" on a guy is hogwash. If he's your guy...take him.
  6. Would be a pleasure if they offer the most ? ? ? is what he's saying here.
  7. You do realize that the Vikes actually drafted a QB (Bridgewater) over where some had him projected, then burned and the 1st when Teddy got hurt (that's 2 1st right there if you're keeping score) only to get by this season from a freaky season by Keenum that if I'm a betting man would say he will never have again...right? That's the model you like? So in short, they spend 2 firsts only to have Case Keenum take over. Not great long term planning. Sounds all very Fitzpatrickish to me...and we have all seen that movie before.
  8. And who is to say he's not Jim Kelly? And who is to say whoever your "surefire" 1st rounder you draft instead isn't Tony Mandrich? Point is you can't win the lotto if you don't have a ticket. BPA is certainly "not hard" when you have a QB. When you have Aaron Rodgers, sure take a flier on Hundley early. Doesn't work out...so be it. When you have bupkis at the position you draft one you like, one that you feel good about tying your career on and take him. Take him a round before the "experts" think because if you don't someone else sure will.
  9. If you like Rudolph in the second, you take him in the first. Don't play around. If you feel he can be the guy you don't lose him.
  10. Joe B is spot on. And he provides yet another example of why we need to move on from both TT and Rico. How do you as a coordinator leave that decision in Taylor's hands? A guy that wasn't allowed to audible at the start of the season now has the trust to make a huge call like that? Also, did not realize McD and Chud were close. Very interesting.
  11. Yes. Appears that after the game he conducted through research on the matter.
  12. This thread reminds me I need to figure out how to use the ignore feature.
  13. I am so tired of that stat..."outscored by 57". We were outscored by 67 over a 2 week span where games got way out of hand (Saints & Chargers.). Those 2 games we played the hottest team in the NFL at the time and started a 5th round rookie against an insane pass rush. The other 14 games we would be +10. Misleading stats are misleading.
  14. I will give thanks. He is a good guy, likeable as a person and did his very best. Cannot question his toughness. Hopefully he continues on and gets the chance to keep playing football. Just not here.
  15. Smith would be my choice over Vea as well...but I think he's long gone by 21.
  16. Shady said he needs a better backup than Tolbert so he can keep his legs fresh for a deep playoff run next year. He also says Incognito makes a kick ass salsa.
  17. So it takes an act of God to get a passable game from Peterman?
  18. He doesn't "open it up" because he simply doesn't know how. He doesn't "protect" players in the slightest. How is calling a Tolbert sweep protecting? The guy is simply in over his head. I will agree in some aspects Taylor doesn't help matters, but he could fit a Shannahan offense if they tweeked it some.
  19. They have enough fans for a forum? Thought they would have like, a post it board or something. Have to check that out!
  20. Because he calls plays like a man who has never watch a game of football before. He doesn't use his players to their strengths and often doesn't even know what players he has on the field at a given time. Other than that he's swell.
  21. Your Madden game must be strong. One of you is the head coach of an NFL football team. One of you is calling him names online. Wanna guess who the loser really is? ?
  22. I'll bite. Keep TT. I do not want to watch a Dennison coached game again. TT can be a solid #2 behind our new rookie. He would be an upgrade to Peterman in that spot I suppose.
