I love the idea of being a "run first" team (at least in concept) with a generational talent at QB like JA. This gives an offense and OC the ability to dictate whatever they want to any opposing defense with equal efficacy. When you have a RB/RBs and O line that can consistently get you over 100 yds and a QB that can throw up 300 any given Sunday, that is a deadly combo. ATM, I have my doubts we have the horses at WR and the OC with the creativity to carry it out.

James has 1228 yds with 5 games left. Thurman's best year was 1487 in 16 games Times have definitely changed.

Their fundamentally sound, but they haven't won anything as of yet. They've had moments against weak competition who at times were missing top talent. What's their signature win? ***** by a FG after 3 TO's and a flag fest? Bucs? Bengals without Burrow? Pitt beat them and we saw how the Steelers played yesterday. I see them as last years Broncos. Their a feel good story feasting on a easy schedule reminiscent of the Steelers in 2020 starting 12-0 only to get smacked in their first postseason game. I expect the same for NE. This isn’t sour grapes. They have a solid core and will be a force in the following years. I just feel everything for them will come to a head once the competition gets real.

I think he's played well for us for the most part and should be retained. How much interest is a injury prone, rotational DE gonna command on the open market? He's making 12.5 right now and will probably see the same next year if he stays.
