  1. As much as these players hate the 4 game preseason this is two seasons in a row that football looks like trash week one.
  2. Well played. And I think we all agree it couldn't be happening to a better guy.
  3. Outside of it being rainy Watson's mechanics look horrible.
  4. I don't disagree with that reasoning. What I am having a hell of a hard time with is people mentioning the kid in the same breath as Travis Kelce and Diggs. People are getting way ahead of themselves and then will be pissed when the kid doesn't have a 1000 yard 10 touchdown season.
  5. Based on what? College stats? He hasn't played a down of regular season NFL football. Based on college stats alone Kincaid's best season wasn't as good as Gabe Davis' best college season. At this point its conjecture based on what a few people are telling you should or shouldn't be. The fact that you can literally sit here and say that the rookie tight end who, based on scheme, may or may not even get as many snaps as Dawson Knox, should be the #2 targeted player on the team tells me all I need to know. The fact that two other people agreed with you is even more mindblowing. If the kid ends up Travis Kelce I'll be overjoyed but to expect it....give me a break. No wonder you guys are always so let down. And then to double down and say if he isn't the #2 The All Pro QB and OC are at fault....My God Man. The best rookie tight end in football last year went 32 450 yards and 3 tds.
  6. It goes without saying he is a special talent. He was just picked in the top 32 of all incoming college football players in the NFL. Just think its a little ignorant to place that much weight on a rookie. Hope like hell it comes to fruition.
  7. Hope he is amazing. That said, he hasn't played a down in real NFL football. Fully expect him to be 3rd or 4th on the team on receptions this year. Expecting anything more because of media attention or some tea leaves read because he had great games against Southern Utah, USC or Oregon last year, is a recipe for let down. Take it one game at a time. Dont put too much stock into a 1st year tight end to be the catalyst for a great season.
  8. Probably Colorado. That said, it has more to do with the Broncos playing in the AFC West than it does Deion being a better coach than Sean Peyton. I've enjoyed watching Primes team, they are talented and fast. But, I fully expect them to be 3-2 after the next month. His kid is a good QB but he is virtually throwing passes like he is playing 7 on 7 football right now. Tons of time to throw, to wide open wideouts. I don't see that happening against USC or Oregon.
  9. Said it once and say it again, none of this means jack until the games start. Never gave much thought to someone's opinion.
  10. Late to the party but heard a headline on TV this week "New Information on what led to Bob Barker's Death" Seriously?
  11. Bill Belichick is the child of Anne Ramsey and Meatloaf.
  12. One the last remnants of when ESPN was a good network. Enjoy Mort.
  13. Man oh man. The Marone picking him up from the airport story always brought a smile to my face. WNY original from Riverside to Syracuse, and the Bills. Way too young. Rest Easy Mike.
  14. Enjoyed the heck out of it myself. I think it's unfair to say it was a puff piece, they certainly touched on the issues, especially in the later episodes. Sometimes its just nice to relive the good things.
  15. Thats why its better to ignore football articles and sports talk shows and just turn on the game then turn it off afterwards. There is only one truth in football and thats the result of the games. Everything else is just noise generated by the monolithic NFL machine.
  16. What struck me was the team speed and how fast they get the ball out. Sanders has surrounded himself with very good coaches and team talent.
  17. I'm sure he was a jerk. I was a bit of a jerk in high school myself. Thank God our standing in life isn't based solely on the things we did when we were in our teens.
  18. You don't think a linebacker can tell you how to read a defense? You don't think a WR can tell a rookie QB where to find holes in a zone or auto adjust the depth of a route based on coverages? Like I said before these guys that become coaches aren't simply limited to what position they played football. I can't stand Belichick, I think his superbowl success was largely based on having Brady. But outside of being a Longsnapper the guy probably knows more about the history of the X's and O's of football than most anyone on Earth.
  19. Kind if a myopic take. First and foremost the sample size you have here is small. Belichick I believe was a long snapper and ended up being one of the best defensive minds ever. Position doesn't always correlate to interest, its predetermined by size and athletic ability. Not to mention a coach who may be completely wrong in his assessment of where you should play. Just because you played linebacker in high school and college doesn't mean your interest wasn't on the offensive side of the ball. Wideouts and DBs, at least in my mind can help a young qb because they can reverse engineer the position. I think you're grossly underestimating a NFL level coach's knowledge of every aspect of the game, based on a few outcomes.
  20. Not going to happen. Lazy Quarterback and star Wideout with a strip club addiction.
  21. I'll say it everytime something comes up about Chad Kelly He has done good work for the ARC of Erie County. Watching him work with both adults and kids with special needs, you wouldn't think he was the terrible guy some of you say he is. His chalk talks at Kelly Camp about the mistakes he has made in his life, and how he pretty much was throwing his opportunities away, impacted my son greatly. He still brings them up. Has he done idiotic stuff, yes. Was he privileged, yes. That said, I truly hope people take a step back and think about their own shortcomings before casting the first stone here.
  22. Makes complete sense. Thank you man!
  23. Good to hear man. I honestly am a little heartbroken for the kid. He eats, sleeps and breathes football and basketball. He picked up a football at 3 years old and never looked back. I pick him up from practice now and the spark is kinda gone. He is a massive Michigan Wolverines fan, not sure where it came from because I am not. But tonight after practice I told him "who knows man, maybe when you hit your growth spurt you'll end up 6'3 310 and all of this experience will be amazing. Michigan is known for offensive lineman ya know!" This parenting thing is tough because I truthfully dont know what to tell him. Hard line to walk because I dont want him questioning his coach. Thank you for the positivity.
  24. Very cool to hear about other people's kids football experiences. Congrats to your kid. My kid has played youth football for the last four years. Started as a tight end, linebacker, and safety. Moved to starting Quarterback in his 5th and 6th grade year. Played fantastic last year leading his team to an undefeated season. Moved to modified football this year as the high school is small and doesnt have a JV program. So essentially a group of 7th-9th graders. I didnt expect him to play Quarterback, and honestly didnt expect him to start this year. But the coach in his infinite wisdom moved him to starting left guard. My kid is 12 years old and is 5'5 110 lbs. This is where I could use advice. Some of the schools on their schedule send out their JV squads. I am trying to teach him to be resolute and just do what his coach tells him. However, the coach is doing things like making the principals son starting WR in 7th grade when the kid hasnt played a down of football in his life. That said, how long do I go on telling him to be resolute when I am going to have to watch him be manhandled most games? Doing my best at teaching him technique, stay low, wide base etc but at 110 lbs I am a little worried.
  25. And have a QB on a 5th year option rather than an extended contract.
