I think this is all fair. Just have to remember its incredibly early. There were two instances yesterday where Josh had to put Dalton in the right place while he was lining up. If you go back its actually audible at one point where Josh says "Hey Dalton, over here." As Kincaid gets further acclimated to the offense I think you'll see him run deeper routes. It will all come down to how comfortable both Allen and Dorsey are with giving Kincaid that sort of responsibility.

Thats only if he plays the same position as the $13 million dollar player, which he doesnt. Yes, they are both tight ends, but they dont play the same position they have different uses. Call it what you want in 12 personnel, but Knox is the normal on the ball tight end (Y in some playbooks), meanwhile Kincaid is your off the ball split tight end (F or even H in some playbooks). The Bills would be complete idiots to draft someone with the exact same position as Knox. I'll take it a step further to say that NFL front offices have a much different view of players they draft than fans. Fans are impacted by the media when it comes to the draft. The brand new great player, the savior of the franchise etc. I would expect teams, especially those picking in the 20's are just following their draft boards and hoping the person they bring in can help the team early on and then maybe develop into a star later after they have experience. Expecting a player fresh out of college, drafted #25th overall, to come in and be GREAT, is a pipe dream and something that only leads to disappointment. Its a marathon not a sprint. My point is, Kincaid cant control the routes he is asked to run, or how deep he is when Josh throws him the ball. He is doing the portion of his job he can control to 95% percent efficiency. If you are going to measure a receiving option on how often he drops the ball, you sure as hell better also measure them on how often they catch it, regardless of things he cant control.

If he was dropping them would it be meaningful?

Will we have to replace Dorsey next year?
thenorthremembers replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the offense continues at this pace, yes. He had feelers out on him last year. -
So glad Rodgers got hurt. Jets would have been for real. That said, Chiefs look awfully beatable.

Is Belichick Tanking Already?
thenorthremembers replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
They aren't tanking. He has a .469 win percentage without Brady. 3 winning seasons in 11 without Brady. He's similar to a lot of smart football people who don't have good QBs. He can get you to around 8 or 9 wins a year without a Franchise QB, but he isnt winning a Super Bowl without Brady. -
Not to mention Kelce didnt even play his rookie season. Kincaid's catch ratio is over 95%. Completely agree, people need to calm down.
-
On pace for 63 catches and 420 yards. The expectations for him were way too high. The Travis Kelce comparisons were ignorant. He is a good player that adds a nice element to the team. Not sure what people wanted for a late 1st round pick. He is doing just fine.

Brandon Beane…..you have to bring in a Corner.
thenorthremembers replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most likely see them bring up Ja'Marcus Ingram from the practice squad. They have Benford, Jackson and Elam. I am not sure who they would trade for right now. Do you try and bring Levi Wallace back from Pittsburgh? -
Any Ear/Nose/Throat docs on board by chance?

Good post. Had COVID a month ago, turned into an ear infection and haven't regained my hearing yet. -
Keep using all the isms. Meanwhile you expect people to believe that 48% of the country are white male nazi sympathizers. Hate to break it to you but intelligent college educated men and women of all races voted for Trump. Having different politics than you, doesn't automatically make someone base, misogynist or racist. That's the real ignorant thinking.

Perfect example of democrats being out of touch with reality. "We are the most intelligent and elite people on Earth, all other humans are below us."

I remember arguing about Kincaid during the preseason. I said the expectations for him were way too high, and some of you would be angry about his production by the end of the year. I was told some of you can watch film and know when a guy is special. That his route running was second to none. All of which may be true, but now that some of you are coming back down to reality with a thud, here is what you should be expecting going forward. The Bills use 12 personnel more than any other team in the NFL, good news. They still only use it on 43% of the time, bad news. Dawson Knox is a good tight end in the league, and he's never had more than 50 receptions or 600 yards in the NFL. Not sure why anyone expected more than that from a rookie who plays the same position? Especially on a team with an elite wideout getting a majority of the targets. Also stop with the LaPorta comparisons. Different team, different scheme, much different QB. Outisde of Diggs, Allen distributes the ball pretty evenly to 6 different players. 4 players make nearly 100% of Goff's distribution. You can blame Dorsey all you want, but fact of the matter is Id much rather be in the Bills situation offensively than the Lions. The grass isnt always greener. Bottom line is this: Stop buying the off-season noise about NFL rookies. The NFL along with the media does it to sell you on the draft and to get clicks on articles. Kincaid will be fine, still has some of the best hands in the league. Still on pace for over 60 receptions and 400 yards. Very respectable for a rookie tight end.

Gotta love the dancing when they are down by 18.
-
When you're up 27-3 in the 3rd its relatively easy. They are bringing the blitz on almost every play because there is no run threat.
-
I'm not sure any QB in history has had worse situations than Baker. In six seasons hes had to deal with Hue Jackson, Freddie Kitchens, and Matt Rhule. If the Browns had any sense they would have put Stefanski in place but signed less vocal wideouts. Putting Baker with idiots like OBJ and Landry was a no win situation. Meanwhile he gets them to the playoffs and nearly beats the Chiefs. Feel like the guy could have been a decent NFL QB but his physical limitations required the right situation.
-
Hes the best tight end ever and its not especially close.
-
Terrible narrative. Josh was raw his rookie year. He was also running around like a maniac, hurdling 6'4 linebackers, and showing off elite physical tools. It was pretty obvious the Bills had something in Josh. Jordan Love isn't any of rhat.
-
The Packers will win somewhere between 8 and 10 games this year because they have an easy schedule but this kid isn't it. His pocket awareness, lateral movement, and physical stature screams backup QB.
-
For the life of me I'll never understand how QBs with such little football awareness make it to the NFL You can look at Jordan Love and know right away, yeah that ain't it.
