Broncos @ Bills - Playoff game day thread (1st half)

They are, but 10 points on 3 time consuming drives is something Denver will take every time. -

I agree - after that first drive, defense played well. Offense has been meh, but the clock consuming drives are a concern if it continues without capitalizing with 7’s. -

I hope that shows itself in the second half because Allen looks frustrated, OL has been meh in the pass game and evidently no one is open downfield.. ever. -

I’ll give them time to adjust but I’m just so sick to my stomach that Josh Allen has to be linked to this team, with this Defense, every postseason. A constant albatross around his neck that Mahomes and Lamar don’t have to deal with. -
Steelers @ Ravens playoff game thread (no Bills stuff please)

Oh great MVP talk… yay This game is absolute trash. Steelers might as well punt every time they get the ball. -

Entire discussion about Henry but Lamar is the MVP Ok -
Completely agree. The Defense is healthy for the first time going into the Playoffs. That's always been the excuse, right? Somewhat valid too.. but now what's it going to be if they let us down? Just not good enough? They Paid Oliver, they're going to pay Rousseau, they'll want to pay Bernard, they'll probably pay Benford, they paid Johnson, they traded for Douglas. They drafted a DT in RD3, drafted a Safety in RD2, drafted another LB in RD3 two years ago. I'm not saying this is some elite Defense. I am saying they are healthy, and should have enough for a Defensive minded HC to finally show us why it makes sense to have him leading this team when it matters.

The point about playoff experience is real. KC hasn't been the most talented team in the field since the Tyreek Hill years, but they keep winning because they are used to playoff pressure and are consistently the most healthy of the field.
-
Ha.. well this is assuming you're actually a good OC
-
I'd be shocked if he missed the game, but who knows what's going on in his personal life so I won't judge. As a purely football matter, I don't love it. If he's back at practice tomorrow, all good.. but if it drags on, I'm not sure how much of the gameplan he'll be involved in if he does play.. aside for some basic routes and decoy plays.
-
I think defenses can be far more volatile year to year than offenses.. especially one led by Josh Allen that has Kromer and the OL locked up long term.
-
Offensively, this is my biggest concern. Still not sure what we'll get out of Cooper. Shakir should be solid, but I don't expect him to take over games. Hollins, Coleman, Samuel.. can they get open/make plays against playoff defense? I'm not necessarily pessimistic about this WR group, but am in more of a wait and see mode. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised and certainly wouldn't be shocked to see Cooper and Coleman step up their game.
-
Why are some of you so offended by a completely obvious statement? Rodgers had been playing well until seeing us last week. Today is probably his best game as a Jet. This means nothing more than what I said.
-
Rodgers with a pretty good game today. Lost in our game is that he’s actually been decent to finish out the season.
-
This. Josh Allen in the Playoffs is a threat to throw anywhere on the field, on any play, with the added potential of him running on any play. With a top end OL and solid playmakers all over, unless he’s having a horrible day, we shouldn’t be concerned about anyone’s defense. *With a slight caveat that I need to see our WR’s make plays against playoff Defenses* It is as it’s always been.. Will our Defense (actually healthy this year) step up in the postseason. An absolutely gnawing question to keep asking with a Defensive minded HC. I truly hope this is the year he surprises us with a healthy unit on that side of the ball as opposed to previous years.
-
I mean I know that this year, but in a world where it did.. what happens? Im guessing the league would have to schedule a 4 hour window in between games to get folks out, set up, and bring the new crowd in?

OMG… this Jets trick play Hahahhahahaa

It is what it is.. The Bengals have an elite QB with the best weapons in football. Miami is a division rival that we’d have to beat for the 3rd time with Tua. Denver has a rookie QB that would be coming to Orchard Park. They have a good OL, some weapons and a good Defense, but McDermott and Babich better come prepared for this game. Chargers are probably the most complete WC team with a borderline elite QB and a well rounded team around him with Harbaugh who may or may not be able to reverse “Chargering”. Steelers are obviously the weak link of the bunch but they present the same issue to Baltimore that Miami would present to us… and without the cold advantage.

Dodson with the pick

Actually, yes. This wouldn’t affect Dawkins. The others should likely be off this team within the next 1-2 years anyway. Von & Douglas likely gone this offseason (even if Von balls out in the postseason, we shouldn’t pay a guy what he’s owed who’s only a rotational pass rusher now) and Milano & Jones will probably be gone after next season. Id even offer our 1st and both 2nds this year and see if they bite. Cleveland may want the immediate capital to quickly build their team. That would leave us with likely two 4’s, three 5’s and three 6’s. Eight cost effective picks for depth & development. Beane has been able to find good depth and above average players at a pretty high rate on Day 3. What we’ve never had is a Chris Jones. If they can, they should build this Defense around Garrett & Rousseau. Fill in the pieces everywhere else.. even if that means no extensions for Bernard, Benford and/or Shakir. All 3 of them can be replaced due to defensive scheme/system and Josh Allen. Maybe an unpopular statement here, but true. Now let’s go win a Super Bowl and make this discussion more difficult, because as of now, I’m all in on a big move like this for Garrett or Crosby.
