  1. Schopp and the Bulldog constantly harping on the “go for it” mentality and our window… I’m so sick of hearing about this tbh. Our window is for however long Josh Allen is here. “But what about it Von and Diggs decline in a few years… ok, and? Miller has an out after 3 years. We’ll see how Diggs is structured. Enough… KC isn’t closing their window this year to reset because they traded Tyreek Hill,.. it’s simply asset re-allocation.
  2. I think you've got to find a way. It takes a long time to develop TE's. If we move off Edmunds & Poyer, that probably allows us to get it done.
  3. Not sure why people need to take shots.. Poyer has been incredible in his time here. Just seems like the time may be coming to a close.
  4. Knox contract looming as well. Could be Poyer wanting to see if he can get locked in before we have to make those decisions next year... could be he's potentially getting moved... I don't think it's "nothing".
  5. Seattle is a tough one for the Jets to go back to the well with in a trade given the dumpster fire move they made for Jamal Adams. More than likely, the Jets would have to pay a "make things right" tax on a potential trade, part 2, with Seattle. Certainly giving them back their own pick is not going to do it. If I'm Seattle, I'll counter with give me 4 and a 3rd or 10 and a 2nd. If Seattle doesn't want a QB, what do they care about having #10 as the only return for DK...not a ton of difference in the eyes of most of the player you can get at 10 compared to 20. The price for a #1 has gone up since we traded a late 1st for Diggs.
  6. The issue with the EDGE picks are that they can take a while to develop. Ideally their rookie year is the learning curve and then in Year 2, they hit the ground running.... Rousseau/Basham, looking at you. With Epenesa, we're now entering Year 3, and if he does start figuring it out, well then we have 1-2 years of him before we have to shell out big money at a big money position. I think Beane is pretty good at identifying talent in the draft, but my one critique is that we need more immediate impact out of our high picks...especially now with a top heavy roster.
  7. The Adams/Hill deals are why people speculated that we might have to trade him. That was all under the assumption that he'd want Tyreek Hill money. Those of us who worried he'd demand that, myself included, were wrong. This is a very fair deal.
  8. I think Diggs/Adams style of WR ages much better than Tyreek Hill, so if they're going to lock up a WR who will be closing in on mid 30's by the end of the contract (should it fully play out), i'd much rather it be a technician rather than an athletic/speed guy.
  9. This is strange WR Draft because any of the top 6-7 guys could be the best WR in the class. Can someone tell me Jameson Williams at 20 won't be better than Garrett Wilson at 10, or the potential of Christian Watson in the mid-late 20's... Treylon Burks who's stock seems to be dropping. Not to mention Olave and Dotson.. I have no clue who ends up top WR.. A lot of it may just depend on fit/situation. If I'm the Jets, I'm going back to Seattle with a higher offer. If they still say no, so be it.
  10. Agreed. The fear for me was that he would want Tyreek Hill money, and clearly, he just wanted to stay in Buffalo and be paid fairly.
  11. Given Diggs corner style of "make a huge play or get burned", I think he would quite literally drive McDermott insane.
  12. I think there's a 50/50 shot he's there when we draft. A bunch of recent mocks have him going to us, or around us. I personally think it may take a trade up into the late teens to get him, but he could slide because teams will think long and hard about the fact he may miss a handful of games. Most teams with Top 20 picks don't have the luxury to simply absorb using a RD1 pick on a guy who may not be ready to play until after the first quarter of the season.
  13. I just don't see him as a make or break piece... IMO, he likely has a Top 100 pick return. If I'm Beane, I'm 100% shopping him for a 2nd or 3rd Rounder and then using our 2nd Round Pick on his replacement, while freeing up cap space for a 1 year rental corner. This team is now top heavy... Allen-Diggs-Miller-White, with guys like Knox likely, Milano, Dawkins, Oliver likely in the next tier of sizeable contracts. It seems foolish to let a guy like Edmunds walk for nothing at the position of LB.. He's not a LT, WR, CB, EDGE... He's a LB... with all the talent we have on defense, I'm fine with a rookie/high pick MLB.
  14. They just teased “breaking Stefon Diggs news” on GMFB and Emmanuel Sanders face going to break was hilarious… You hear his voice as they fade into commercial ask “did he sign a new contract???”
  15. Gardner would be drafted to be a dual #1 CB. Not that I'm thrilled with this idea, but this isn't a #2 CB we're talking about.
  16. I don't necessarily disagree with going in on Sauce Gardner in a massive trade-up either. My reasoning is different than yours though... I actually think these few years are as tough as it's going to be.. Burrow & Herbert, and to a lesser extent, Carr, are all SB capable QB's, but unlike Allen & Mahomes, are on rookie/team friendly deals these next few years. They can load up in ways we can't. That being said, if we trade up for Sauce, I can't say I hate it because he is a difference maker and I don't think we're mortgaging our future by making sure we get difference makers. It would actually be a refreshing move away from having the most well-rounded/deepest roster albeit absent top end talent some others have. Given Beane's ability to draft well in Rounds 4-7....maybe we should be more aggressive in moving up for game-changers, because we know our GM can round out the roster with guys like Gabe Davis, Dane Jackson, Matt Milano etc..
  17. Every year is a new year. I hate the mentality that "this is our best shot"... we don't know that. Josh Allen is, arguably, the best QB in the league and we have him for the next decade. I much prefer the Beane approach of sustained bites at the apple, while managing the roster responsibly enough to take a shot on a mega-move for Von Miller when the chance arises, without mortgaging the future of our young QB. This is also the time when Burrow/Herbert/Carr are on low end contracts allowing them to load up on talent... in a few years we will all be in the same boat, with that Josh Allen contract looking pretty, pretty good compared to the likely deals for Burrow, Herbert, Lamar etc.. This is a Super Bowl roster with or without Sauce Gardner. If he's their guy, go get him.. Beane knows we likely need a new LB, S & LG next year so i'm sure he has a plan.
  18. Given we're likely losing 2 of the following 3 (Edmunds, Poyer, Knox) next year - and have our starting LG on a one year deal.. That's a lot of draft capital. Sauce is definitely a potentially elite CB though.
  19. Jameson Williams. Could not build a player more suited for our offense if you tried. Also an elite special teams player.
  20. In theory, I agree with you. However, a LB in the top 100 means they are likely taking the spot of one of these 3 positions (CB, WR, OL)... I would not be happy at all to draft an Edmunds replacement who will sit for a year if it means one of those positions loses a premium pick. I also would hate the likely fact that drafting a LB to back up Edmunds for a year means we're letting him walk for nothing. Despite the frustrations we have with him, an extremely young, high ceiling, pro-bowl LB has trade value.
  21. You can do both, just have to hit on the later round guys to maintain depth. Strangely enough, we seem to do that, but struggle finding immediate impact guys high - outside Allen.
  22. If they trade-up for a LB, without moving Edmunds, I'll have questions... You don't draft a LB high to learn for a year when you're trying to win a SB... that is ridiculous. If they draft a LB in the top 3 rounds, that guy should be starting and Edmunds should be moved to free up money for a corner and bring a pick/trade-up option in play.
  23. Did he mention if we're talking trade-up in RD1, or just trade-up in general?
  24. He's a guy I'd be absolutely ok trading up for. He's everything Beane talks about in needing to bring game-breaking speed to the Offense. Fits in seamlessly out of the slot, with Diggs and Davis outside. Also perfect because we don't need to rush him back, given the signing of Crowder. Work him in when he's ready and then unleash him down the stretch of the season to get ready for the Playoffs.
  25. Fair take. Davis has shown he "can" be elite. What he did in the KC game was elite. Whenever he's gotten his chance, he's killed it. Bodes well... That said, if he comes into the season as THE #2 WR, we still need to see if he can kill it for an entire season. If I had to bet, I'm betting that he will.
