  1. We say this, but what are we wanting to be better moving forward? McDermott clearly has a style and that style involves an undersized defense that plays base Nickel. We could certainly upgrade at DT and Safety, but the plan for Safety next year will likely be two guys on this roster in Rapp/Bishop. The Linebackers will be Milano, Bernard and Williams. Taron will be the Nickel. We probably draft a CB high to compete with Elam opposite Benford, and that guy is replacing a solid/good CB in Rasul. The DE's could be upgraded but I could see them bringing back Smoot, they'll likely pay Rousseau, AJ will be back and will whoever we have next year (outside a blockbuster trade), definitely be better than Von right now? I can't accept DT being a valid excuse if we don't advance, when we paid Oliver, paid Daquan, and drafted a DT in RD3, after taking a S who barely plays as a rookie in RD2. We are healthy. Figure it out and go win.
  2. McDermott is a great person and a really good Head Coach. His Defense needs to perform this postseason. They are healthy and there aren't any excuses. Yes, these are the good ol' days, but if we can't win a Super Bowl, let alone get to one... especially if Mahomes (obviously), Burrow and heaven forbid, Lamar get there... we have a major problem. This year is as good of a shot as we've ever had. Sure we'll have a small amount of money this offseason and decent draft capital, but there's no guarantees we're this healthy next year and every wasted chance is another year closer to us missing out on the Allen window. JA is still young, and hopefully we win it all this year, but the angst for some is very warranted. And not all, but most of us, really REALLY hope McDermott makes us eat crow.
  3. The other option would be go back to 6, but they're never doing that. 7 just ends up giving the 1 seed the biggest one team postseason advantage of any professional sport by a mile.
  4. 7 is the dumbest of all options. Just go to 8. Go to 18 games. 2 preseason games & 2 bye weeks. No playoff bye week. 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7 and so on... re-seed after Wild Card Round. This is the most likeliest of options for where they'll get to and makes the most competitive sense.
  5. The 1 seed is WAY, wayyy too big of an advantage. Look at some of the Chiefs paths to the Super Bowl recently... Bye, Browns, Bills ---> Super Bowl Bye, Jags, Bengals ---> Super Bowl Bye, Texans (Bills/Ravens) ---> ??? Two of these years, they get a bye week, followed by a joke of a contender, followed by a game against the winner of the only other two teams that could beat them.
  6. Perhaps the best Playoff QB we've ever seen, yet this is what he's subjected to because of past team's around him and coaching struggles. Defense is healthy and I'm expecting more of what we saw against Denver. I'm not saying we'll hold Baltimore to 7, but I am saying that it's time for McDermott to flex his muscle as a Defensive HC, in conjunction with Babich at DC, to perform well enough at home (second time seeing this Ravens Offense) that as long as the Offense has a good game... we win.
  7. Uh oh… Vikings getting the version of the Rams we saw
  8. They probably are, but they don't have the playoff mysticism and experience that KC has. NE wasn't always the best team, but they had Brady and a bunch of guys who never got phased by the bright lights. If we get by Baltimore, that's what we're up against, because on paper.. Buffalo and Kansas City are similar teams talent-wise.
  9. Yup.. he would’ve gotten tagged regardless but Allen led him directly into that with the overthrow.
  10. I honestly can’t take this. What is this absolute garbage gameplan so far?
  11. Ok, more Buffalo Bills Offense this drive and less Pittsburgh Steelers. Thanks in advance.
  12. Blatant hold by Denver in the end zone and the most ticky tack pre-half false start on us is giving heavy KC referee vibes.
  13. Brady can go take a HC job if this is what he’s going to give us in the playoffs.
  14. They are, but 10 points on 3 time consuming drives is something Denver will take every time.
  15. I agree - after that first drive, defense played well. Offense has been meh, but the clock consuming drives are a concern if it continues without capitalizing with 7’s.
  16. I hope that shows itself in the second half because Allen looks frustrated, OL has been meh in the pass game and evidently no one is open downfield.. ever.
  17. Benford on the struggle bus out there
  18. Allen looks beyond frustrated out there.
  19. What a shock… undersized defender hurt.
  20. I’ll give them time to adjust but I’m just so sick to my stomach that Josh Allen has to be linked to this team, with this Defense, every postseason. A constant albatross around his neck that Mahomes and Lamar don’t have to deal with.
  21. Oh great MVP talk… yay This game is absolute trash. Steelers might as well punt every time they get the ball.
  22. Entire discussion about Henry but Lamar is the MVP Ok
  23. Completely agree. The Defense is healthy for the first time going into the Playoffs. That's always been the excuse, right? Somewhat valid too.. but now what's it going to be if they let us down? Just not good enough? They Paid Oliver, they're going to pay Rousseau, they'll want to pay Bernard, they'll probably pay Benford, they paid Johnson, they traded for Douglas. They drafted a DT in RD3, drafted a Safety in RD2, drafted another LB in RD3 two years ago. I'm not saying this is some elite Defense. I am saying they are healthy, and should have enough for a Defensive minded HC to finally show us why it makes sense to have him leading this team when it matters.
  24. The point about playoff experience is real. KC hasn't been the most talented team in the field since the Tyreek Hill years, but they keep winning because they are used to playoff pressure and are consistently the most healthy of the field.
