Rasul Douglas could just be talking to talk.. personal life, family, who knows.. but he had posted on X a lot about feeling like he was in flux and/or a weird spot, so reading the tea leaves, this could be contractually.

What do you disagree with? I just advocated for signing vet minimum/cheap players, drafting two WR's in the first 4 rounds to replace Gabe, Harty, Sherfield and then spending the rest of the draft on defense to fill in around Von, Rousseau, Oliver, Jonathan, Milano, Bernard, Williams, Spector, Johnson, Douglas, Benford, Elam and Poyer. Moving off Diggs and Von doesn't seem feasible this year, Knox we can move after this year, so our options to truly blow it up this season are cutting White (I'm ok with that), Morse, Poyer and Douglas.

This is why the NFL protects QB's so much. Football is a team sport, but it's borderline unwatchable with poor QB play. Everything else looks so much worse and it's hard to really evaluate anyone.

Given how we severely lack guys who step up in the big postseason moments, this is a way bigger point than just to be said in passing.. so thank you for bringing this up. Even with the awful defensive performance, one can only wonder how that KC game plays out if Gabe Davis never got hurt and we had "Big Game Gabe" down the field instead of Trent Sherfield....

Ok.. why do we care? And how long do we plan on defending that territory by sacrificing the young men of Ukraine?

I somewhat agree with blowing it up, but disagree about a reset year.. it's malpractice to do that in a prime year of someone like Josh Allen. The Offense comes back largely in tact. We can easily bring back David Edwards as OL6 and Ty Johnson as RB2, and then we're essentially the same exact Offense as last year, but with the ability to upgrade in the passing game, even if Diggs takes a step back. Shakir Year 3, Kincaid Year 2, Cook Year 2 as feature back, Year 2 of Brady and the ability to draft 1 or 2 WR's in the top half of the draft to improve on Gabe Davis and Co. The Offense could be the best it's been since we drafted Josh Allen. Now the Defense on the other hand.. that's where we need a KC '22 like draft to get younger and pray that Von Miller is back to 80-85% of what he was pre-injury. Will our Front Office take that risk or are they going to kick the can to keep paying out a bunch of moderately expensive vet contracts on that side of the ball?

I think I echo most of the sentiment here.. Good player, not great, but for a RD4 pick - an absolute hit. I'd love to keep him here as a WR3/4, but we just don't have the money to be doing that, and he shows flashes of WR2 ability.. of which I'm sure he wants to get paid accordingly and show that he truly is that. It's probably better for all sides if he leaves, but dang.. it doesn't make watching that IG video hurt any less. You can tell he wants to stay, but sometimes staying in a relationship isn't the right decision, no matter how much you want it to work out. I think Gabe knows that.. and I think the Bills know that.

Everyone does this.. it’s just about how “all in” do you want to go. Given we have 10 draft picks, and still 3 of those top 100, we haven’t done that. There is only one contending team that has an owner willing to spend, franchise QB off a rookie contract and a salary cap that’s in a good place moving forward… unfortunately that team is Kansas City.

Isn't there a famous Brandon Beane quote about how you find out a lot about your team in that final game? Our final game always consists of the defense letting us down. It's the main reason we haven't won a Super Bowl yet with Josh Allen, so I'm not sure what about them requires us to shower that unit with praise. A big reason for the lack of postseason success is the fact we typically have a Defense built on depth and lots of good players. We lack the greatness required for big moments.. and Rousseau seems to be following that trajectory.

Kinda, yea... We don't have the luxury of paying big money to non-difference makers. As of right now, Rousseau's ability and potential would require big money. As of now, he hasn't been a difference maker.

I'm looking at re-signing DaQuan Jones and AJ Epenesa on team friendly multi-year deals, bringing back Taylor Rapp, Cam Lewis, David Edwards, Ty Johnson and Dane Jackson on minimum deals and then cutting Harty while bringing in two guys to compete for WR4 behind Diggs, Shakir and an early draft pick. We need to go cheap somewhere, and I'm fine with that being at Safety with Rapp and Lewis competing for the starting Safety spot opposite Poyer.
