This is the Brandon Beane 2024 version of the “Call an ambulance, but not for me” meme Deal is done! …but with the Jags
-
Completely agree. I don't expect us to move up in RD1.. maybe even moving back given the league's shenanigans with our RD3 vanishing pick. However, I expect us to be very active on Day 2.
-
1) This isn't happening 2) People seem to have zero clue of the draft value chart when it comes to our Day 3 picks. The only way we're materially moving up in Round 1 of this Draft is by packaging 28 and next years RD1.. We only have one Day 2 pick and our RD4's can move us up a couple spots each, at most.

Vikings seemed like a team that could've contended in the NFC if Cousins stayed healthy. Falcons could be interesting this year.

The Bills FO has brought this criticism on themselves. They've been of the philosophy that a strong team across the board with depth can win a Super Bowl. Because of that, we've missed swings that "maybe" could have lead to a different outcome. See last year, spending money on guys like Hines, Matakevich, Poyer.. when maybe Hopkins is what we needed to make a play in the big moment. It's scar tissue. Some of us would rather backfill with the boatload of Day 3 picks we have and get one big piece.. but we were also backed into a corner of our own making where Jones and Epenesa were necessity re-signings.

It's only a matter of time before we get the Josh Allen asking for help and Beane responding with "best I can do is Mack Hollins" meme.
-
Ok, we have to draft him now.
-
Y’all are entitled to your opinion, but I think it’s a terrible allocation of money to prioritize a 30 year old above average CB over a 30 year old gamewrecker on the DL. Don’t care about the pick swap. It’s sunk cost.
-
Why don’t we just move off Douglas and use that money for Armstead? It seems the drop off between DL talent and CB talent is a mile wide in this draft. It seems so simple, but I’m sure someone will tell me why this binary choice is not.
-
Is Douglas’ contract messed up due to the restructure of we move off him? Were all debating where we can find money for Armstead… What if we just move off Rasul Douglas and bring in Arik Armstead. If we bring back Levi, we have our emergency starter. Benford locks down one spot. Hopefully Elam can have a good summer. Draft a corner or two.

The Bills will be better in 2024 and everyone overreacted

The “hope” is that the answer to this question is: -Von Miller -No clue right now, but I’m tempted to say Kincaid if you need an answer tonight -
Id do it. Im at a loss for what this WR room looks like, but pressure from the interior is how you get Mahomes uncomfortable.. especially with how the playoffs are officiated. Armstead, Oliver and Jones is a top tier DT rotation. If they can get it done, im ok relying on the Draft, but would hope we double up with a WR in RD1 and another on Day 2.

As we’ve seen with injuries these past few years, if your star players go down, you’re screwed anyway. Doesn’t matter if the depth is a 4M per year guy vs a Day 3 guy. In terms of the ultimate goal, you do need to stay healthy. It is what it is. Hopefully Beane is learning his lesson because we need more Armstead’s and less (insert vet making 2-4M all over the roster)

I think a lot of us realize that. It's just frustration that we're falling further behind KC. Guys like Jones & Epenesa truly do make a lot of sense as must re-signs, but these are the same types of guys that are NOT moving the needle when we get to the high stakes games. Re-signing them basically takes us out of the running (it seems) for maybe one guy who does. But then we're insanely undermanned on the DL, so it is what it is.

Does anyone worry about Beane potentially boxing himself in at WR in the Draft? Mack Hollins doesn't change the fact that this WR room, as currently constructed, is not very good. We have a question mark at WR1.. Is he still a WR1, what level of WR1 as he clearly isn't the type to just take over a game no matter what. We have a decent slot WR with some outside flex in Shakir. And we now have a depth WR in Hollins. This is a loaded WR class.. It's also one that has Tier 1 (Harrison, Odunze, Nabers) all gone in the Top 10 and the Tier 2 WR's potentially picked over by 28. People seem to think we have all this draft ammo to move up in RD1.. We don't. We have a lot of picks on Day 3... that's not moving us up much.
-
Chiefs had an elite defense that shows up in the playoffs. Chiefs have Travis Kelce and invested back to back RD2 picks at WR, of which Rashee Rice finally broke out. People keep wanting to compare us to a team that has 2-3 elite guys outside Mahomes at all times, who all step up in the playoffs.. it's the strangest thing.
-
Transitioning myself from the hope we do something unexpected to a general feeling of ok, fine, whatever. Nothing that I will disagree with. I'm fine with Morrow as vet LB depth, fine with Hollins as vet WR depth. Probably more deals like this coming down the pipe. Pinning our off-season on Beane needing to build the WR room through the draft.. and every GM knowing he needs to do that.. well, sounds like another Josh Allen Save Us type of year. Borderline playoff roster turned into a contender because of the QB. Same as it's been.
-
I'm not against the Mack Hollins signing. It makes a lot of sense. The reaction to this is just bottled up frustration from the fanbase towards the cumulative team building of the past few years. That said.. Don't compare us to KC. Do we have a Travis Kelce? No. At least not yet. Do we have a Chris Jones. Lol, no, not even close. Mahomes restructure allows them to extend Snead if they want. Elite playmaker. Elite pass rusher. Elite corner. Bills have none of that.. and while we finally seem to be ready to use premium draft capital on WR, the Chiefs have done that the past two years in a row.
-
Two Things: 1) Mack Hollins on a 1 year deal, worth "up to" 3M is a good deal for a WR5. Special Teamer with size who can come in provide adequate WR depth. 2) People do have the right to worry if this is all we do at WR leading up to the Draft. The pressure on Beane to get it right, with the entire league knowing he needs to get it right, will be very high. All this talk of Allen needing more help and all we've done, pre-draft, is trade Bates, cut Morse and let Gabe walk. I'm not saying those weren't the right decisions.. I agree with them, but (if) there are no substantive corresponding FA moves before the Draft, Beane has really boxed himself in.

Mack Hollins trending Top 5 on X lol.. NFL/Bills Mafia undefeated.
