I don't really get why.. Shakir, imo, is a good player. I'm completely fine with him being our starting slot for the next few seasons. Diggs will play outside, but has always been a guy - compared to the other top guys - who's taken way more snaps solely outside. He, as he gets older, should probably start getting moved around more. That means an increased snap share in the slot. Kincaid is a future star. He's a TE, but like Kelce, will also take slot snaps. Cook, if we want to truly maximize the reason we drafted him, should also be a guy who flexes out into the slot. That's 4 guys. 1 of them a slot with outside flex and the other 3 as guys who should all see increased snap share in the slot.

I honestly feel like I'm losing my mind. Shakir showed improvement all season and was one of the only reliable post-season performers outside JA.. and everyone seems to want to replace him and/or draft/sign slot WR's... when we have zero outside WR's and the one we have should probably see an increased snap share from the slot... oh, and we have a potentially (future) elite TE who needs slot snaps as well.

Greg Rousseau 5th year option, extension candidate?
SCBills replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Spencer Brown, I feel great about signing him long term. The jump he made this past year and the fact he's still so raw. Dude could be special at RT. Rousseau seems more like we feel we have to given the draft capital, potential and the fact he's good. But he's not been great (so far) and there's no guarantee he gets there. -
It is what it is, but Rodgers is .. by all reports- open to it .. and he’s on a short list with Mike Rowe, Jesse Ventura and himself. Hes the only one with a domain name taken out. Again, I highly doubt this happens, but, why the domain name around the time RFK said he decided on his VP and will announce in the next two weeks…

Absolutely massive numbers for Kemp

So, if we’re not allowed to talk about this.. delete, as I’m not trying to be political, but Rich Cimini just reported that the domain name KennedyRodgers.com has been registered with GoDaddy last week, and it’s the only one out of the finalists on RFK’s list. Jets fans are now pointing out how the Jets met with a bunch of QBs at combine and had a heavy contingent at Bo Nix pro-day today. And according to NY reporters, it’s radio silence from everyone right now. Id still be shocked if this happened, but why is the domain name taken haha?..

What if Allen and Mahomes swapped exact situations?
SCBills replied to first_and_ten's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ll acknowledge that Mahomes may have one in Buffalo. He’s been in the league a year longer and is more consistent in the regular season than Josh .. so maybe with him we finally get a one seed. That said, Josh Allen in KC has multiple Super Bowl victories and is the face of the NFL. -
Elite players step up in big playoff games. Kelce does. Jones does. Snead does. Hill did. Diggs does not. And he’s the only non-JA on our team even close to the conversation
-
Snead is a Top 5 corner. Prior to him ascending, they had Tyreek Hill. They’ve always had four elite guys. Even if you want to go with three… what’s your point? That they have 3 to our 1? (Dont you dare say Diggs)
-
Same as it always was. Id be all over trading away picks for Jefferson. The most talented QB + the most talented WR. At least we’d have an identity and a calling card to take down KC. No number of 28ish picks is likely to flip the script. That script being Mahomes always has Josh beat with coaching and elite players around him.
-
No, he very clearly was not. Dude plays almost every snap. Production-wise, obviously not, because he was a WR3 masquerading as a WR2, when we we didn't have a WR2 on the roster. Unless you count Diggs deciding to turn into that for half the season, then we didn't have a WR1.
-
Shakir should be the 3rd or 4th WR option.. which, in the slot, is perfect for him. Gabe should have been 3rd WR option as well.. but we made him WR2. Unless we completely spaz out, Shakir is not entering next year in the Gabe Davis role of the past two years.
-
Ravens were scarier with that speed guy they had last year before he got hurt. With Lamar read option, anyone with speed can be gone if you guess wrong. Not really worried about Henry, who needs a few seconds to build up speed. Henry would be scary on an elite passing team that teams play light boxes against. On the Ravens, meh.. whatever.
-
Shakir has shown me enough to be the slot WR. Makes no sense to me to pay for competition in the slot when we need outside WR's. Diggs should probably get more time in the slot if we're being honest. We have Kincaid who will get slot snaps as well.
-
We can get out of Diggs & Von’s deal next year, and somewhat in the clear the following year. Agreed about hitting on WR’s in the Draft, but if Higgins or Aiyuk can be had for 28 and extra, I’m doing it. If Jefferson is somehow available, whatever they want. The issue with the draft is 28 has us looking at guys who aren’t complete receivers. Most mocks even have Thomas & Mitchell gone by 28. At the end of the day, maybe none of that is even an option … it’s more a frustration of getting to a point when for two years WR has been an issue and here we now stand with whatever Diggs will be next year and Shakir … that’s it. We’ll add, but I don’t know if a vet WR4 and a rookie Tier 2 WR is moving the needle much. Maybe.. hopefully.
-
If I’m Beane, I’m exploring the trade market for a WR1 type guy who’s younger. If that’s not available, sign a cheaper vet, draft a guy and hope for the best.

I don't care about the regular season match-ups anymore. Post-season.. Kelce makes plays. Diggs does not. Jones makes plays. Bills Defense.. anyone? When Hill was there, he made big plays in big moments. Snead, maybe he gets traded, but he locks up our best weapon every time. What pass rusher (if you have inside info, i'm asking rhetorically and don't expect you to say)? Because I keep watching guys like Bosa get held when they play the Chiefs, so is this guy impervious to being held? Where was Myles Garrett against Houston? Playoffs are officiated differently.

Definitely agree. If there is anywhere we should spend low and bet on traits, it's Safety. I have zero interest in a legitimate money contract at that position.. In fact, I could easily be convinced to roll with Rapp, Lewis and some draft picks if that means we do something, anything of substance for Josh Allen and the Offense.
