This is such an indictment of last years room, but I think you’re correct. Diggs = Diggs Shakir = Shakir Samuel > Davis Hollins > Harty Diggs is a year older, but Shakir entering Year 3 should be coming into his own. Gabe Davis is a solid WR, but not what we need .. his skillset is just far too inconsistent and limited in the passing game. Hollins isn’t anything amazing, but he is a big target down the field who is capable of making a few catches per game if you need him. We’re an early round WR investment away from having a room with the potential to exceed the Diggs, Beasley, Sanders, Davis year.
-
Agreed, but compare that to us. Chiefs gave out a solid contract to MVS and now Hollywood. We finally gave one to Samuel for the first time since trading for Diggs. Chiefs have drafted back to back RD2 WR’s. Bills haven’t drafted anywhere higher than the 4th Round for Allen. Of course, all this is possible because they have Kelce. Let’s hope Kincaid can become our version of that.
-
My point isn’t about the product on the field. It’s about the fact that the FO very clearly has tried to set Mahomes up with help.
-
Fair, but Diggs/Kincaid need to actually play like superstars when it matters for this to work. Kincaid was just a rookie, so no issues there. Diggs keeps showing us who he is when it matters. I struggle to call anyone elite when they don’t step up in the biggest moments.

Justin Herbert gonna plant himself in the draft room at the start of RD1 and stare daggers at the GM until he takes a WR with their pick.
-
That would make zero sense in terms of roster construction. We need to stagger WR contracts. Diggs is here this year and then who knows. Shakir has this year and next on his rookie contract. Samuel on a 3 year deal. RD1 WR gives us 5 years, RD2 4 years. It always made sense to draft a guy high. It’s beyond time we did that.

“Chiefs never give Mahomes any WR help” Tyreek Hill MVS RD2 Pick Trade for a former RD1 Pick Juju RD2 Pick Hollywood Brown All while having an All-Time Tight End Not all of that has worked out, but this narrative has.. and will always be.. hilarious

Who’s the best big body/low separation WR in this Draft?

Hochul better get the National Guard back up in there. -
It’s not. He’s a 50/50 inside/outside guy. Diggs, Samuel and Shakir can all move around, but if we draft a WR in the first 40 picks or so… Shakir, imo, becomes a heavy use WR4 in a four man rotation.
-
We’re doing this. I’d be shocked if we don’t now. Chop at 28 and then a trade up in RD2 for Coleman or Legette.
-
My guess.. Buffalo finally remembers that they should get 4 legit WR’s for Josh Allen. Diggs (outside) RD1/RD2 pick (outside) Samuel (slot) Shakir (WR4 inside/outside) Think back to how they used Diggs, Gabe, Beasley and Sanders.
-
My real worry is that they view this as making WR optional in RD1. I could 100% see them going DL at 28 and then potentially trading up in RD2. I will be jaw dropped to the floor if they dont go WR in the first 2 rounds.
-
Aside from Morse, Gabe and the sentimental value of Poyer/Hyde, we haven’t really lost much.. but then I look at the list and OMG.
-
Safety at 28 and I will smash my tv.
-
Nice signing. We now have 3 inside/outside guys.. Diggs being a traditional outside guy with inside flex and Shakir/Samuel more inside guys with outside flex. Presents a lot of flexibility with Knox/Kincaid in the mix at TE. Still think we need a true outside WR early in the draft and this definitely doesn’t change that. Still.. really nice piece to add. Draft an outside guy early and this WR room starts looking really nice.
-
Beane is going to need to crush this Draft, because these past two years, most analysts have caught on to the fact that we demand more out of Josh Allen than any team does their QB. And.. as we stand.. even if we go WR early in the Draft, this year - somehow - is shaping up to be the year we need Josh Allen to have even more demanded of him. Defense reliant upon three 30+ guys coming back from injury and an Offense that cut an above average Center and will look to replace Gabe Davis, seemingly, with a rookie.
-
Von doesn’t sign here without Allen. A bunch of other guys who who could make more elsewhere have stayed, because we have Allen. Without Allen, if given the choice, almost ever FA is taking close or a little less to play in a state like Florida. The Jets, with the allure of NYC, couldn’t even compete with Miami for Tyreek Hill because of this. Only reason Cali gets a pass is because of the weather & LA.
-
Fwiw, the difference here between certain states and other states is only going to get more drastic as time goes on. We can act like this isn’t a thing, but it 100% is. Having an elite QB is the only thing that offsets it.

This is the Brandon Beane 2024 version of the “Call an ambulance, but not for me” meme Deal is done! …but with the Jags

Completely agree. I don't expect us to move up in RD1.. maybe even moving back given the league's shenanigans with our RD3 vanishing pick. However, I expect us to be very active on Day 2.
-
1) This isn't happening 2) People seem to have zero clue of the draft value chart when it comes to our Day 3 picks. The only way we're materially moving up in Round 1 of this Draft is by packaging 28 and next years RD1.. We only have one Day 2 pick and our RD4's can move us up a couple spots each, at most.
