Are we really going to miss any of the departed players?
SCBills replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
If we’re comparing the team we see in September vs the team we saw last half of the season.. no, probably not many downgrades this coming season. Josh Allen being allowed to take over games carried us… again. OL: I have the utmost faith in Kromer. He’s one of the best OL coaches in this league. Morse is good, but did have trouble anchoring against certain players & certain alignments. I expect Torrence and Brown to really become a strong tandem on the right side. DL: It’s really an unknown. I like our top 3 DT’s more than last year. Jones fully healed with Oliver and we have more size & physicality than last years rotation in Johnson. EDGE is dependent upon Von, but Floyd became a complete non-factor last half of the year anyway. LB: Massive upgrade with Milano coming back, year 3 of Bernard and Year 2 of Williams. CB: Douglas, Benford and Johnson is a very good group, and I’m probably higher on Elam than some. Think a new coach should help him. S: Slight downgrade on paper from what Hyde/Poyer were, but think Edwards could flourish here and Rapp came on strong down the stretch before the injury. RB: We’re solid there QB: Allen speaks for himself and we probably upgraded at backup. TE: One of the best rooms in the NFL and I think many expect Kincaid to become a household name this year. WR: TBD. There are plenty of ways that this years room could be better than last years. We shall see… Impact Players: As has been the case in Allen’s career, it doesn’t look like enough. Two years ago we entered the season with Allen, Diggs and Von (pre-injury). That’s where we need to be every year. This year… Allen. Maybe Kincaid. Which is why WR1 could really use an impact player via Draft or Trade. -

This is quite a broad brush you’re painting with. The vast majority of this fanbase is vocal in their love of Jordan Poyer. -
Is this a parody account?
-
Poyer - 99% of us LOVE Gabe - Fans will give him a standing ovation next time we see him Morse - (See above for Gabe) Tre - People in the stands will probably cry next time they see him in person if the team recognizes him, which they will Singletary - Fans were all rooting for this year Edmunds and Diggs are the two that we’ve dumped on.. One because he just wasn’t worth his contract projection, but no real ill will from fans. The fan reaction to Diggs is different for a reason .. and plenty are still wishing him well. And yea.. we all hope Houston somehow becomes a train wreck, why on earth would we not?
-
Do we have anymore updates on Bills wishing him well? I know Dawkins has. Former Bill, Cole Beasley has. I do see Hamlin as, maybe, the only current Bill commenting on Diggs farewell IG post (in contrast to many of them commenting on Gabe’s) Anyone else.. Thought maybe we’d see something from Gabe now being AFC South rivals. Seems like crickets.
-
They were clearly “we can’t get Diggs the ball enough traditionally so let’s manufacture touches so he doesn’t get mad” play calls.
-
I, for one, will not miss WR screens to Diggs where he stutter steps backwards for no reason and gains 3 yards.
-
I think this surely had something to do with it. Whatever happened around the Cinci game, bled over into last year .. and then when Allen is able to keep picking his OC’s and one of them - the one we now have - clearly didn’t view getting Diggs the ball as a priority.. here we are. 1) Something outside football happened that fractured the chemistry between Allen/Diggs. I don’t know that for a fact, but there are too many rumors & signs of that occurring. 2) Usage, combined with playoff stagnation. His production dropping like a rock and we still get bounced in the Divisional. He can point the finger at himself for this happening as well, but I’m not sure he has that kind of self reflection. “It’s everyone else’s fault” vibes are heavy with Diggs.

Calling it now: You're all about to witness the arrival of Shakir
SCBills replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is where I lean with him. Upgrade outside WR1 & WR2, put Samuel in the Slot and I think Shakir is a fantastic piece to rotate inside & outside in the Emmanuel Sanders/Gabe Davis role back when our Offense really started to take off. -
Completely agree with this. Set at QB, TE and OL.. and honestly, I’m tired of podcasters whining about McGovern at C. He translates well there and can someone remind me why we wouldn’t trust Aaron Kromer with his vision for this OL? They like Van Demark and Anderson as depth guys who have been in the system and just signed La’el Collins. We have RB1 & RB2 and can find a RB3, or upgrade at RB2 whenever. Defense looks fine. Not great. Not bad. DL hinges on Von being something more than a body, linebacker looks great.. corner room starters are very good, Elam as depth and we have adequate Safeties. WR is the glaring hole.. need to upgrade the talent level and do that twice. Two draft picks or a pick and a vet. However they attack it.. the major focus needs to be there. Take care of that and we can start looking at upgrading rotational DT & DE and/or adding to the S, RB & DB room.

New Buscaglia mock has Bills trading up to 7 for Malik Nabers
SCBills replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Further to your point re: KC.. If you tell me Kincaid is going to be Kelce, then sure.. let’s surround Allen with a bunch of B level WR’s. He changes everything about that Offense. Mahomes has had “that guy” .. the guy we keep hoping to find for Allen .. every year he’s been in the league. Someone who is so elite that you literally cannot take them away in big games. He’s always had 1.. and for a few years, 2 of them. -
I can’t lie when I say it’s kinda funny to watch Texans fans go from thinking they own the league to slowly realizing they gave up a potential Top 40 pick for a malcontent aging WR that’s now a rental & not comp pick eligible.

This isn’t revisionist history, as I’ve said this while he was here… Diggs isn’t a (pick the term) “freakazoid”. He never was. It’s why he never steps up in the big moments. He can be taken away. Jeremy & Joe in the morning want to act like it’s normal that a WR1 becomes a decoy all the time in big games. “Diggs walked so Gabe could run against KC”… Ok, one game.. What about the rest? Jefferson getting locked up repeatedly by Snead, even if he has some help shaded at times? Chase? Hill? Diggs was always elite because he made himself elite through hard work and his mentality. He doesn’t have elite traits. Kincaid could be one.. he has above average speed, size & athleticism mixed with spatial awareness that only some guys (Kelce) seem to possess. Rousseau has the elite traits but he hasn’t ascended to that level yet. Oliver is a good player, but I fear he lacks the size to ever be a “freakazoid”.. and perhaps that’s why he is able to be held down in big moments. Milano.. I could go either way on. Linebacker is so undervalued that I just don’t know if I view any guy at that position in that sense. I could be talked into Spencer Brown still having that potential based on how raw he still is along with his traits. Josh Allen - Certified freak Potential.. Kincaid, Brown and Rousseau Honorable mention.. Cook - If he can remember how to catch -

Great point. Why have we lost to KC in the playoffs? Allen & Mahomes cancel each other out. Chris Jones has made big plays in every game and Kelce (Hill before the trade) always step up their game. Who on our Defense has consistently stepped up in the postseason? Who on our Offense has consistently stepped up in the postseason? The answer to both of those questions is nobody. A play here, a big game there, but Josh Allen hasn’t had anyone on this team that year in/year out, he goes into the postseason knowing he’s got dudes ready to ball out. That has to change.- 201 replies

So You Need to Move Diggs..Why the Texans??
SCBills replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe we knew the Texans would clown themselves by giving us a potential Top 40 pick next year while simultaneously ripping up the best part of the contract they inherited. -

I still legitimately have no idea what Shakir is tbh. -
Does Josh Allen still work as hard in the offseason?
SCBills replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m just saying.. if we could get some JA videos in the next few weeks, that would be great. -
How would you construct the 2024 Bills WR Room?
SCBills replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
-
You can choose one of these groups to roll into 2024 with… Go.
-
But he had no guaranteed money left on the old one. Clearly that has to be his line of thinking.

Does Beane have a trade with Schoen Lined Up???
SCBills replied to cbatl32's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe for Pick 47 -
That, to me, would’ve been the W. If he doesn’t live up to the deal, they can cut him at any point. If it goes well, you have a good WR on an 18M per year to year deal. Team has full control. Give up a potential Top 40 pick next year for some late Day 3’s and a rental doesn’t hit the same.

Were they ever locked into it though? There wasn't much guaranteed money left on his deal after this year. It essentially became year to year options at 18M. Maybe I'm wrong, but that seems to be how it was presented before they tore it up.
