As is the norm, fans like to think their team improved more than regressed each off season. Unfortunately, our competition doesn't stand stagnant & also makes changes. We lost our both our number 1 & number 2 WRs and people are acting like we got better. There isn't a WR we signed that has has been more productive than Gabe, let alone Diggs. At best, we're hoping Brady is enough of an improvement to make up for that loss of production, and that Josh can distribute those lost yards/receptions among a committee of less productive players. I keep seeing people penciling in clean sweeps of the division when making their W/L predictions. We lost to the Jets 2 of the last 3 years, just as we lost to the Pats 2 of the last 3 years (and Fins once). Doesn't matter how crappy they've been, assuming we'll go 6-0 against the division isn't realistic.

Teams we're competing with for playoff spots all improved more than we did this off-season, so the real X factor is Joe Brady imo. Will he be a significant upgrade & be able to compensate for other losses? I'm optimistic. But we can't bank on Burrow, Rodgers, Lawrence, etc getting injured again either.

I'm starting to hate these games... The week leading up to it, the talk is "Chiefs being disrespected" because the Bills are favored. The media heads will talk up how great Mahomes is, run on & on about how he's 3-0 against Allen in the playoffs, calling it a "must win" for both teams, blah blah blah. Then when the Bills win, the conversation immediately goes to "doesn't matter because it's not the playoffs." 😑 So what was all that hype last week about then? If the Bills lose, it's proof the Chief & Mahomes >>>> Bills & Allen. If the Bills win, it's meaningless because they didn't win in the playoffs (as if they can do that in week 10). Everyone immediately shrugs us off, and the Bills get no real credit.

I have zero confidence in MVS or Claypool to be anything other than minor contributors (if they make the final roster). They're more likely to be a Jamison Crowder type vet. Situational, 4th or 5th option, depth in case of injury, or even getting injured themselves.

That's why they went back to back Edge with their 1st & 2nd picks. Then because Groot & Boogie weren't good enough, lead to them STILL searching for someone who can sack the QB, so they signed a 33 year old DE to a monster $100+ million contract. The things you mentioned are nice and all, but what they wanted & tried desperately to add was a player who could get sacks.

May have already been posted, but based on Vegas's projected wins for each team (rather than last year's W/L record), the Bills have the 10th toughest schedule this year. Meanwhile, the other 2 "contenders" in the AFC East have much easier schedules. The Jets have the 29th (4th easiest) and Dolphins have the 25th (8th easiest). https://atozsports.com/buffalo/bills-have-almost-unfair-disadvantage-quest-for-afc-east-title/ Kind of annoying, especially given the Dolphins love to stack wins against bottom feeders, but what's more annoying is having a tougher schedule than KC & Cincy. Then again, even Vegas won't get everything right. It's more accurate than going off last year's results, but it's not perfect.

I would trade him for a conditional 7th & a few dollars of cap relief.

I don't think anyone can say this is more dynamic than the year we added Diggs to pair up with Cole Beasley & John Brown (run by Daboll). That's still Allen's best year, and we haven't had as exciting an offense as that since.

The real issue, and I know I'm gonna get flack for saying this, is that Allen is one of the big reasons the team has to claw back from behind to begin with. Sure, he can get credit for scoring late against the Patriots, sending us to OT against the Jets, or getting us in FG range against the Broncos, but then you'd have to point out how Josh threw us out of those games in the first place.
