Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Post Game Thread
BigDingus replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm only now checking up on the box score since I had to work, but how is there not a dedicated Greg Rousseau thread already? He had 3 sacks?! What! The score was too close for it to be considered "garbage" time sacks, so what's the deal? Did he do as well as the stats seem to suggest? -
I want to agree, but at the same time, the effort from Montgomery can't be understated. Nearly every run he was just bulldozing people, throwing guys down, twisting & turning out of tackles, etc. Might just be a case of good defense being overpowered by better offense.
-
Montgomery & the OL are really impressive right now. Wow.

Concerned about Josh's non-throwing hand. I know he'll still play, but being able to hang onto the ball, take snaps, and the normal hits you take throughout a game could really make things painful for him. Watching the Steelers vs Falcons game earlier made me really appreciate how important it is just to be able to handle snaps well. Fields & their Center continuously fumbled snaps, and that's without any injuries. Other than that, just the normal division rivalry stuff. Our fans like to take the Dolphins lightly, but I don't take ANY AFCE team lightly anymore. Zach Wilson has beaten us, Mac Jones has beaten us (twice), so a team with Tyreek Hill & that offense should never be overlooked. Plus, the odds will eventually catch up to us at some point. The more wins we hang on the Dolphins, the more likely the next one will be a loss. Unless Allen goes on to torment the Phins like Brady tormented us, I have to expect the Dolphins will find a way to snag a win every now & again.

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills 1st Half Thread

Football season is so exciting when you're waiting for week 1. Then week 1 happens & you're like "oh yeah, I remember this feeling..." 😅 -
Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills 1st Half Thread

Turnovers hurt. It's a miracle our D has ranked highly despite all the turnovers they've had to compensate for. I guess this is why both Rick Eisen & Kurt Warner said their more likely week 1 upset would be Arizona in Buffalo. -

That's when it's on the QB to get rid of the ball. He had all day to make a decision. -

Well... that fumble was on Allen. Had all day & didn't make a decision. -

I'm just glad to see Allen under center so early in the game. Hell yeah! -
Crazy Josh Allen stat ahead of his 7th season
BigDingus replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
We can, but because Mahomes had that year on the bench, people will always bring it up. I'm just guessing if I click on that Tweet, the non-Bills fans will all be pointing that out.g -
Well, that's just about worth what Dak just got, since 5% of the Bills franchise comes out to $267.5 million!

Curtis Samuel.....How impactful will he be tomorrow??
BigDingus replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's the only free agent WR I wanted the Bills to sign (not breaking the bank had a lot to do with that), so I'm really eager to see how he pairs with Josh. But given that he's already been dealing with injuries, again, I'm not expecting a whole lot tomorrow. I honestly expect the Bills to try & come out strong with the running game, so I'm not sure how many opportunities he'll have. I'm an idiot though, so they'll probably go full college air-raid mode & sling it all day long. -
Packers QB Jordan Love - sprained MCL out 3-6 weeks
BigDingus replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
You mean Malik Willis? I'm sure they'll want Love back as soon as possible, but I'm sure they want to be careful with their QB above all else. If they can win a game with him out, they'll have a bit more breathing room. But if the Lions jump out to a 3-0 start, I would just wait until you KNOW Love is 100% before sending him back out there. -
The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
BigDingus replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Chiefs will keep winning with or without Kelce at this point. Mahomes was always good, but with experience he's only get smarter on top of the physical skills. They've also been developing Noah Grey as a 2nd TE that they seem to like. Not sure if they're looking for him to replace Kelce in the future, but I certainly see his role increasing as Kelce ages. -
Can we really judge Bass in Sunday's weather?
BigDingus replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am too. 20+ mph winds could be an issue, especially in our stadium. But hopefully McDermott is smart enough to take into consideration his kicker's struggles when making decisions tomorrow. We punted a lot when in opponent's territory the first half of last season, but if Bass is struggling, I'd rather they go that route than take long shot FGs. Either that or know you're going for it on 4th down & call plays with that in mind. -
Here's a poem from my good friend Chat GPT that I haven't even read yet: In Buffalo's great land of snow and cheer, The Bills have come to conquer this year. They’ve sharpened their cleats and polished their plays, To win the Super Bowl and make us all say: “Whoa, what a season! What a sight to see!” As Josh Allen throws a pass like a spree. And the defense? They’re a wall, a mighty brigade, Stopping the rivals with moves so well-played. Coach McDermott’s got that look in his eye, “Just one more game, we’re reaching the sky!” With a sideline dance and a fiery cheer, They’ll lead us to glory, never fear. And oh, those fans in the snowy embrace, Dressed in blue and red, a wild fan base. They’ll brave the cold and cheer through the night, Holding up signs and giving high-fives. The referees, they may need a map, To figure out how to handle this scrumptious trap. With Bills’ plays so dazzling and fleet, They’ll make the opponents admit defeat. So here’s to the Bills, with their spirit so bold, In Buffalo, the stories are told. Of a team that will triumph, that’s the big goal, To win it all, and make us all whole. With a laugh and a cheer, they’ll seal their fate, And Buffalo will dance until late. For this is their year, no more delay— Go Bills, go Bills, it’s your Super Bowl day!

You know you’re a fanatic bills fan when…
BigDingus replied to Bills!Win!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
When you've had reoccurring dreams where you're on the team, win the Super Bowl, then pass out rings to the 90's Bills roster... I've handed out rings to Jim Kelly & Bruce Smith more times than I've gotten lai... I mean more than I can count! And it's not like handing out SB rings to random retired players is even a thing, but it's like the child in me still wants those guys have one 😂 -
There's a lot of denial in this thread about Worthy. I get it, we traded our biggest rival for the chance to get him, therefore we're invested in him not panning out. But who do you trust more to identify potential offensive weapons in the draft & then make best use of them - Sean McDermott or Andy Reid? The Bills probably got the WR *WE* could make best use of, but I have a feeling Reid will maximize Worthy's skills more than McDermott & Brady would have. And if the Chiefs brass are willing to trade a 3rd round pick to the Bills just to take the guy, you have to think "hmmm, maybe they're onto something." McDermott is the guy that made the call to go into a season with Nathan Peterman as the starter ahead of Josh Allen, with zero veteran QBs on the roster. The Chiefs are the team that has never finished worse than AFC Championship game with Mahomes. I'm gonna go out on a limb & say Worthy will have the better career, at least for a few years, and Coleman will develop over time. As long as he does more than Elam, I'll be fine.

This is exactly how I see it too. And if there's anything I've learned from watching Josh over the years, it's never make too many judgements off a single game - especially not week 1. Allen & the Bills have lost 2 of their last 3 week 1 games, both to sub-par opponents. Josh's best regular season games last year weren't even nationally televised, so most people didn't see the best he had to offer. But when we did have nationally televised games, Allen struggled & threw a ton of INTs, which means that most people started judging him based off those performances. If that continues, Allen will always struggle to win MVP. I'm only bringing up MVP because I think it's the reason many Bills fans are being overly critical of Lamar right now.

Lot of slipping on this field, and even more penalties. It's going to drive me crazy if the flags are flying like this all year. This is so annoying. Brazilian fans must be bored out of their damn minds. -

I can't decide who I want to win. On one hand I like Jordan Love, but on the other hand I want Nick Wright to be wrong. Decisions, decisions...
