Top 10 Herd Hierarchy following Free Agency
Mat68 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Happy to see Buffalo as the chalk pick for the Superbowl. Is it the early 90’s? -
I expect they have a plan. Obviously, a trade or an above minimum vet lessens the urgency for one. Perfect world they bring in a stop gap who can compete with Jackson and/or start for White until healthy. That allows Buffalo to let the draft fall how it may. I expect with Beane watching Wildgoose, and Anderson getting claimed he isnt as high on his late rders as he was going into last years draft. I see them being aggressive and depending how the next few weeks play out it will be clearer what positions they will be targeting.

If no one is brought in or White isnt announced to be ready for training camp I think you have to. Trade up for one or take a guy like McCreary. Cant be a Superbowl with a glaring hole on the roster at a premier position.

Reason to like it. 1. Allen wants him here 2. Became instantly elite with Allen. 3. Only 28. Contract plays as a 2 year extension. Trap door out when he is 32/33 4. He loses a step will become an elite slot. 5. Creates cap space this season and next. The 120 over 6 is about as real as Vons 120 over 6. I am old enough to remember the aging out of the 90s Bills and catastrophic roster construction from that point to now. This regime is literally doing what most have complained about and wanted for 20 years. Now some are scared of the price tag? Dont worry, Pegula is getting more public money in recent history for a stadium. The fact he is dropping 120 close to 135 total mil in escrow for the signing bonuses and restructures is what a fans want. -
Idk if he is worth 25 maybe Walker and something substantial would need to happen at Cb before I would like Buffalo to pass on a db even if its a perceived reach for a player like McCreary.
-
Depending on the money Im sure Beane will listen. I think if Buffalo signs a starting caliber cb, saftey is in play rd 1.

Its about you is willing to write the checks not write the contracts.

Are we all suppose to scroll past that Trevon is in the building? A pick and Endunds? A pick and poyer? Idk, just spit balling here. -
His style of leadership is slowly fading his luster. What is he doing at OC? What is he doing at DC? What is their identity on offense? What is their identity on defense? Power running team? Dont bring back your Full back? Will not use a fullback going forward? Press aggressive man and manufacture a rush? Let both of your top 2 cbs walk without an answer. Seems like too much masterminding and not enough roster building and scheming around your players.

Are ACL injuries no big deal anymore? The data suggest they are
Mat68 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Its tough to look at the total number and correlate that to White. The average career length of NFL players is 3 years. How many were all pros already on there second contract. White is a different human than the majority of those on that list. Top of the top athletes heal different and react different than any of us. Heck, even guys that made it to the league. ACL is no longer career ending. If your a Wolverine like Adrian Peterson you come back in 6 months and have a career year. -

I dont. Beane has done this every year. I think Buffalo is going to also sign a starting level Cb. The speculation is Gilmore. I now expect that Gilmore or a player of that caliber is brought in pre draft. At 25 however the draft falls you take whats there. Every position but Qb, K, and P are on the table. Best way to improve. Saftey, Rb, Lb, Dl would enter the conversation with Cb, Wr, and oline. -
How many HOF players were on that defense? Parcells took that style of defense with him everywhere even without Belicheck. He found his style of guys to play his style of football. I would argue the main guys in New England were drafted by Parcells the first time around. Overall, Belicheck is was a very good coach. He is considered the GOAT because of Brady. He spent too much money last year and is handcuff at improving the roster this year.

Epensea going into the year was just behind Chase Young as best edge in the country. Idk if his physical change helped or hurt him. He was a no brainer 2nd rder. Gotta take swings at premier positions. If Rouseau, Basham, or Epensea hit its a huge boost. You can call Epensea a miss if he doesnt pan out but I wouldnt blame the organization. Seemed like a homerun at the time. -

Im not really interested in who people grade where. From people that do it for a living he is in the running as a top 5 wr. Imo that makes him an option for Buffalo. Production in college is important but its also in most cases apples to oranges comparison. The athlete is worthy of consideration at 25. Beane and the current regime go athlete in rd 1. Allen, Edmunds, Oliver, Rouseau are all freaky for their position. Watson might be the freakiest guy in the draft. With Allen he could be a weapon down the field. I think we need a Cb more but Watson or some other wr might be the better player.
-
I think the best Rb in this draft in 3 years will be Zamir White from Georgia. Buffalo takes him in the 3rd rd and he will be a difference maker for the offense. His knee injuries will scare some away. I see him as Frank Gore coming out of the U. Has burst and speed.
-
Addition by subtraction with Dareus. Watkins and Darby were the only assets they had that were worth anything. Waktins and Darby moves were what helped Buffalo draft Allen and Edmunds. Yes, dead-cap is self inflicted but signing the players they moved on from too the contracts was the problem to begin with.
-
People saying no get too caught up in the in the business of football. He left for more money and a chance to win a superbowl. Back then the team was trash and Mcdermott changed it to what it is now. He is a very good cb still. That would be a massive upgrade over Wallace. Having a bigger guy to play TEs and larger wrs would make the defense much better.
-
Hes a unanimous MVP Qb. Its the easiest deal to do. I want x more than Watson fully guaranteed. I dont have a MBA or passed the bar. Its not complicated for a good Qb. Played out perfect. Im curious how its spun by insiders. Usually, paint the player poorly for not using an agent.
-
He will ask for a bit more than Watson. 240 all guaranteed. He is being treated like an idiot for not signing now. Thats mainly by media talking heads who have relationships with agents. Last year of his deal on the brink of FA Lamar will hold all the leverage. It will be a massive deal.

Bills match Bears Offer Sheet for Ryan Bates, 4 yr deal
Mat68 replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
Modern NFL lines are only as good as the weakest guy. Bates raises that level if Saffold can continue good play. I would expect 2 day 3 online man and the line is set.
