  1. I think Mabin will do a good job. Rather have him vs Philly Brown.
  2. I disagree. A good run game and a good defense makes an easy transition for a Rookie. Buffalo has alot of picks. If they so choose they could throw alot at a team like San diego or NYG who may want to double down on their aging qb for one last run. I like having Taylor on the roster. He can make big plays but doesnt turn over the ball either. If someone comes on and flat out beats him out than the level of qb is risen. I expect him to go Alex smith. You bring in a rookie we trade up for he may take a leap in play.
  3. I think it helps the over all development of the line. The best 5 lineman on the roster are Glenn, Richie, Wood Dawkins and Miller. Out of Glenn and Dawkins who could transition to RT sooner and what would make the best combination for the oline? Glenn on the right side would be the perfect to RT to run the stretch and power at. Glenn with Richie pulling behind with dimarco leading the the way for Shady would be a very imposing running formation. I do not care about money or perception. Glenn replacing Mills in the line up takes a weakness and darn near turns it into a strength.
  4. The teams are loading the box and trying to stop the run. The efficiency is going down but it is only adding to the effectiveness of the Pa game. Its a very good place to be in from a play calling perspective. I have noticed some increase in pulling which will help vs 8 man fronts. They are a big run away from getting right back to where they want to be. I want to see some Tawain jones get a carry or 2. His speed will be a good mix up with Mccoy and Tolbert. Whenever Mccoy is out the holes are bigger in running game. Having a quicker back from Tolbert would be nice. I still like his size and change of pace, very much body punch type of runs.
  5. If Dawkins is playing well at LT I think Dawkins could have a rougher go at RT than Glenn. No need to change 2 spots on the line just one. At this point Dawkins has played LT since mid August got most of the team reps in Practice at Lt. At this point I would keep him there. Imo Dawkins is a Better LT than Mills is a RT. If Mills struggles try Glenn at RT.
  6. That is why he was traded. Makes sense now in hindsight. There were rumblings before, but most assumed it was just to make Buffalo look good by trading him. That trade combination makes alot sense. Both Matthews and Gaines have came in and started and played well, I think both those players will be targeted to be resigned. Add in the draft picks received they look like really shrewd moves.
  7. Depending on the side of the body the injury is on I would be more inclined to put him at RT. In todays NFL there is no true LT or RT. Defense and good defensive minds look for matchups. There is not a speed guy that only lines of over the LT and the strong run stuffer over the RT. Too many shifts and sub packages for that to be the case. If Dawkins plays well on the Left I would try Glenn on the right.
  8. The Bucs are a kicker away from winning their division or securing a Wildcard. The Pats are in trouble. Last night Tampa didn't play their 2 best linebackers Lavante David and Kwon Alexander, or either of thier starting safties Tandy and Ward. Tampa going into last night had 1 sack on the year. Faced Chicago, Keenum Vikings, and the Giants who cant block anyone. They got to Brady 3 times. By the kicker missing those feild goals they abandoned the run. Doug Martin was 13 for 74 and holes were massive. After the onside kick NE ran on first down, then went 4 and 5 wide and passed it on 2 and 3rd. Ne would have done that in any situation.
  9. Last week he was right there to having a big game. If Buffalo is going beat Cinncy he needs to be the guy that steps up and makes the plays. I have faith that he will. Maybe Matthews going down is the best thing for him. If he gets his confidence up this week after the bye with Matthews back they may have a decent passing attack on the outside.
  10. It seems like as fans many are waiting for the second shoe to drop. It is like trying to pet a puppy from a shelter that was obviously abused because when you go to pet them they flinch and cower, That is the state of the fan base. On to the point it is a very Bills thing to do. After beating 2 of the top 5 teams in league they lose to a 1-3 Bengals team before the bye week. It is easy to say every game is just as important as the next one. If Buffalo loses a close game short handed to the Bengals does that make what they accomplished thus far that worst? I do not look at it that way. The season is in quarters. First quarter 3-1. Even with a loss Sunday they move to 0-1. Next 3 games are home vs Tampa and Oak and @ NYJ. They will be favored in all of those games. Now I think a win goes along way to validating the team not just to the league but more importantly the fan base. Every fan of Buffalo over the past 17 years has that feeling in their stomach looking at the Cinncy game. The same one that was there this past Sunday with a min left and Matty Ice had the ball. We are expecting the deflating loss. Hopefully, just like Sunday we are proved wrong.
  11. I was at the game. After each of the kicks in the 4th I thought ok its done NE is going to close the show. These are not the same Pats. I thought the illegal hands to the face was a poor call that took 7 points off the board for the Bucs. Two missed 4th quarter FGs and still Tampa had a chance to win. Ne has a lot of work to do and I think Buffalo takes em this year.
  12. Mcdermott's largest mentor is Reid, so of course he was going to model his team and style after Reid. That is not a bad thing. I would argue that Ried is the best coach to never win a Superbowl. Turned around 2 franchises in short order and made both into perennial contenders. There are only 3 franchise QBs. Brady, Rodgers, and Brees are the only guys who are done 14 in the 4th who are still right in it.
  13. I would be more concerned if he has been invisible. Unfortunately, he is dropping the ball. Once Taylor and him get on the same page I really think Zay blows up. He is getting open and getting separation which is usually the hardest thing for a rookie to do. This week would be the time to do it.
  14. Can he make the one on one tackle vs NFL runningbacks. That is going to story here. If he struggles I could see them going to the guy from the CFL.
  15. 5. Hoping Dareus turns it on. I dont know if he has the ability anymore.
  16. Odell Beckham. One of the most dynamic players with the ball in hands I have seen.
  17. The past few years even during some good stretches they were negative. However, they were always proved right. Idk if it Buffalo is truely good or they had just severly low expectations Buffalos play seems better than it is. Either Buffalo seems to have found a winning formula.
  18. Back up running backs are a dime a dozen. Wont be surprised to see jones get a few touches. His speed adds a dimension. Baynard could be serviceable if needed. If something happens with Mccoy they can find a guy on the street or on a practice squad that could be as or more productive than Williams would have been,
  19. It is very simple. Taylor should be our QB until someone comes along and plays better. Not has more potential, not has a better contract, simply a better pro QB. Competition breads greatness. Alex Smith made 2 significant leaps in play in his career. When Kaepernick looked like a legit threat, and so far this year when they drafted Mahomes who has a cannon and will throw it all over the field. I dont think it is a coincidence that he has had his most success throwing down the filed the year Reid found him a QB he traded up 20 spots for. If Taylor continues to play the way he has maybe an early QB draft choice will spurn a change in Taylor.
  20. Not saying it is. However, top defense with ball control run heavy offense is what has won since forever. Even now. Talent and name recognition is one thing If Buffalo maintains have a top 5 defense its a mute point. Top 5 defense and a ball control offense that can make a handful of big plays is sustainable winning football. KC, Seattle, Denver, Carolina, all have been doing it for a few years now. Before the nicknames, No fly zone, Legion of Boom they were solid units.
  21. This is the exact style Seattle utilized to win a Superbowl and multiple NFC titles. The whole this style hasn't been effective is in accurate. Brady, Brees, Rodgers, get all the press but Denver and Seattle have been involved in numerous superbowls the last 5 years. You could even put Carolina into that as well.
  22. Idk coaches are all arrogant enough to think they are the guy that get him going. A team with some cap space and buffalo agrees to eat some of it I think it could get down. He is still a rare bird and one of the few DT's with the ability to pressure the passer.
  23. The Stretch zone takes some time. They are pulling some as well. The stretch set up the pass so well. As a defense you have to avoid creating a cut back for Mccoy So the back side defenders has to give some contain and then Taylor is open on the roll out to make a play. It looked better last week and that needs to continue this week.
  24. If Tthorton beats out Darues any chance they trade him after the game? Parlay him into picks or picks and a wr? It seems Daures is the last guy to get on the "Bus". With his loads of potential I think Mcdermott is being more patient with him because of his massive deal as well. Could they find a trade partner mid-season? Would anyone take on that contract? I think if Thorton takes his job he needs to go.
  25. Baynard gets the the carries, Tawain Jones get some pass thrown to him.
