Bill Belichik comments - Looks good on him
Mat68 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. Do you want to play in the northeast, for a hardass coach, win 6 to 8 games, and have most likley the 4th best qb in the division? The FA parade isnt coming. Bill will have to pay. The issue they have such a deficit in talent outside of Db they dont have the money for all of it. The GM underminded the coach. The problem is he didnt have the same college eye as Parcells. Belichick is a low level FA guy. Without a stud qb thats not sustainable. -
Week 16 Postgame Thread Bills @ Pats*
Mat68 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand. Im advicating the core guys sit next week. Putting up 50 plus was just a selfish indulgance I would have enjoyed. It by all means wasnt the smart move but I also wouldnt have hated it. -
The guy is one of the teams prominent leaders of the team. After 3 seasons 2 pro bowls, 2 team captains will be 22.

Week 16 Postgame Thread Bills @ Pats*
Mat68 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was a game Bill would have gone for 50. I dont know how I feel about sitting Allen and Diggs. Part of me wants retribution. Having Bill just stand there with Matt Barkley looking better than both his Qbs is poetic justice in its own right. -
Worst case the 3rd best case 2. One of our top players gets hurt playing Miami week 17 would be beyond dumb. Im not saying throw the game. Barkley with 75% of the roster gives Miami all they can handle. Its the smart play. Prior years Buffalo would be playing for a bye just take it now.
-
Rest Allen, Beasley, Diggs, Brown, White, Edmunds, Hughes, Milano, Hyde and Poyer. Wildcard weekend needs to be the focus. Self-scout this week get the younger guys experience. Miami gets in or not. Im not afraid of their back up qb duo. The last 2 weeks in the second half too many people came off hobbled. Its a long season and hopefully they have another 4 meaningful games left. Take it as a mini bye week get healthier and all systems firing wildcard weekend.

Problably one of the few guy left who they can send back to Ps with out passing through waivers. Back to PS once Brown is out of covid protocol? Problably one of the few guy left who they can send back to Ps with out passing through waivers. Back to PS once Brown is out of covid protocol? Alabama is far superior in many areas. Tua was throwing to 5 first rd picks on the feild at once. LSU has a first rd Cb not the whole secondary. Look at the last 5 years of LSU football. Dominate with Burrough middling SEC team without. Alabama has been dominate for a decade.
-
Michigan isnt a dominate program. They are a good school but never had the run of like Nebreska in the 90s, Miami in the 2000s, Carrols USC, or now Alabama.
-
The Patriots are no better than the Broncos. Buffalo plays well, like I expect, its over in the third. 45-13 Allen plays his way into real MVP talk.
-
The problem with Alabama and other dominate programs through out history is 2 fold. First, how much growth is left? What makes those programs so good is their ability to maximize talent. Second, they dont play NFL qb except for minor occassions if at all. Do they play from a sloppy/dirty pocket. Do they make tight window money throws. Those are the plays Tua rarely seen at Alabama. The plays you could grade in those areas werent great. Those were the areas that made Burrough a no question number 1. There is a reason only 2 heisman winners also won a Superbowl at qb. That happened in the 70's. Rodgers, juco than Cal. Brady was 5th string at Michigan. Brees went to Purdue and hes from Texas. Manning went to Tennessee.

Tua benched again - will start in Buffalo week 17

I agree. Fitzmagic makes for a scrappy game. Tua, Buffalo scores some Tds early it falls off the rails. -

To be fair Fitzpatrick is playing with the same recievers. With Fitz they have a NFL offense. With Tua its a dumpster fire. Miami has to win mythodicaly. I get being scared of bad Fitz. When the game is slipping away who cares if there are picks. Out of the rookie Qbs who played Tua is above Danuzzi and below everyone else. -
Which retread NFL Head Coach would you hire?
Mat68 replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Id go Marvin Lewis. Some of these shaky places he will bring stability. I think he makes alot sense for NYJ. Espically, if they like Darnold. Id go Lewis. Take the tackle. Build the oline and defense. -
I like it. Gives teams an ability to get healthier by having it pro bowl weekend. Pay the players the same as they make wildcard weekend. Pro bowl players do the saturdqy night skills thing. Put big money on the line and the elites will show. Like college, a Bowl game feel. Every crap team has a handful of good players. Highlights them. Interim coaches actually coaching for the future.

That was a game til the 4th. Buffalo has grown up since than imo.

Is Terry Pegula a QB scouting genius?
Mat68 replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont understand how 2 differant qbs replace him and the whole team improves. Foles Superbowl was a floke. It almost happened the following year. Then it happened with Hurts. On the field he looks like a prototype qb. He must be a complete D bag. His teammates always seems to like everyone but him. -
Diggs first team all-pro chances?
Mat68 replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Diggs has been an All Pro caliber wr all year. It should be Hopkins and Diggs. Adams missed time which hurt him.
