  1. And that generally doesn't happen, unless the mistake on the call was blatant in which case why would you NOT challenge it if it's guaranteed?
  2. The video on NFL.com showing Brown's fantasy day is fun too.
  3. Certainly helps that he is already hitting the over on his projected (6.5) rushing TDs on the year. Sadly, haters never will acknowledge him as a 30+ TDs QB if 1/3 of them come on the ground. I say points are points, however you can get them.
  4. First step needs to be removing the refs from the review process so they can't keep upholding calls to save their pride (it reminds me of the police getting to investigate themselves and always find themselves innocent) or to have biases play in favor of the usual suspects. Have all reviews handled by a centralized unbiased remote office like in the NHL. I am unsure about having them not factor in the original ruling on "too close to call" plays. As for the "skin on the game", I like the idea of a single renewable challenge you keep getting back on successful challenges, but with a lost time out on a failure. A cost of X yards of field position could be applied for additional challenges after a failure or if you are out of time outs. Like you can pay 5 yards (not affecting yardage for first down) to buy another single challenge after your first failed one, risking another time out or 5 more yards if you are out of time outs.
  5. Yes, cool. Cooler than you declaring they are basically a lock to beat out the Patriots for the first seed. I just played with the playoff calculator and with realistic game picks, we absolutely can meet Baltimore in the wild card if we make it to at least 10-6 with a win over the Ravens, and they take one upset loss elsewhere. It's hardly ZERO chance. Houston actually has a shot at the second seed with their schedule apparently and a tiebreaker over the Chiefs.
  6. There's two "Billsy" losses every year, hopefully we got them out of our system with the Eagles and Browns. I addressed that just before you posted.
  7. Right for some reason I was still thinking of the Chiefs being the 2nd seed earlier in the season. We can still help the Ravens get back to the wild card game by beating them.
  8. Just be careful about sliding around guys named Kiko and the like.
  9. I think I caught that live on the radio while working (I drive for a living). Brought up how the risk of injury is an inflated concern because most QB injuries happen inside the pocket from getting sacked hard or rolled up on. There is a certain truth to his "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude regarding "elite running QBs" as he put it. Don't need to be an elite passer if you can reliably grind out 3rd downs with your legs.
  10. That would be a good sign, since they are our most likely opponent in the wild card game.
  11. I think thanks to this I will arbitrarily now use average point differential (APD) as my qualifier for what determines contender/good, mediocre, and bad teams. Basically by if they are winning or losing by more than a field goal. Contender = 3.1 or higher APD Mediocre = 3.0 to -3.0 Bad = -3.1 or lower We have had the good fortune of facing the bottom five teams, but still face three of the top four. Good times. Somewhat related, I was into hockey pools when I was younger and made a hobby of tracking trends in how certain betting lines correlated with things like home/away upsets. The guy running the pool I was in saw my success in picking games and arbitrarily kicked me from the league for rejecting his random demand one week to submit my picks before the weekend betting lines he knew I used came out. The league died off almost immediately because everyone knew he started the league to try to win the season end bonus the season long points leader got for himself (he admitted to this much) and he had just suspiciously booted his sole real competitor from the league. Everyone was on my side and agreed they didn't want to pay into his potential scam any longer. The guy would b**** when I did well and try to refuse payment if I won a week's pool on the grounds of it not being fair I used research to make my picks despite said research being expressly permitted by him (because he used similar methods) at the beginning.
  12. I think NFL.com has us outside the top 12 as well, behind 6 teams with worse records including the 5-5 Eagles.
  13. If you're going to average out the win %, you should also average out the net points per game rather than total.
  14. Now I am a big fan of Devin, but that's quite the reach. FAR AND AWAY better than White and others?
  15. Did we need him today?
  16. Yes, I hope his Not-The-Guy-I-Wanted Syndrome isn't contagious. Oliver could be an annual All-Pro and some people would still be butthurt. Even if Oliver becomes a colossal bust and Metcalf dominates, it was still the 100% right pick at the time.
  17. You say that as if he hasn't had other acceptable games this year. I guess you only care about sacks from DTs with that backhanded compliment.
  18. I flipping fell asleep before the game and missed most of it. I was really looking forward to a dominant game after a loss. Damned concussion.
  19. Hot damn they moved the game to my birthday. Guess we're having birthday dinner at a sports bar.
  20. Only ball, not sure why you think player. Are you thinking about the illegal forward pass rule?
  21. Take that, Chicken Littles. I still love you though.
  22. I'll take that as an overall win.
  23. Has to go down as one of the all time great goal line stands.
  24. Guy in motion was moving forward at the snap, should be called back.
  25. I dunno, how much do you think I could get for you?
