  1. I think he would still be available if we traded down 5-10 spots. If all the top corners are off the board and they're considering Hall I hope they would be able to trade down a few spots and set us up well for day 2 of the draft.
  2. Yeah, rumor was that they would have taken Stokes in the 1st last year if GB hadn't taken him right before us.
  3. My guess is that Booth and McDuffie are both gone by our pick, we trade down and then take the best CB available or Hall. We then should have enough ammo to move up in rounds 2 & 3 (the strength of the draft) and target the specific players we want.
  4. This. I don't want him playing over 50% of the snaps against the teams like the Jets and Pats.
  5. How does an Eagles sideline reporter have the scoop on a potential trade between the Seahawks and Jets? Wouldn't classify Eskin as an "NFL Insider"
  6. Another Sean Taylor ceremony should make everyone forget about this.
  7. Glad that he is back just because the alternatives (Ford/Boettger) are awful/injured, but not going to get my hopes up that he'll solves the line issues. Hard to say with a new o-line coach and OC what will be asked of them. Worst case though he should be a dependable, slightly overpaid back-up. Agreed with the posters that O-line depth is a sneaky need for this team. Wouldn't be surprised if we spend a couple picks in Rounds 2-4 on a IOL and OT. Also just wanna say that this situation is eerily similar to when we matched Ryan Groy's RFA contract from the Rams. Versatile back-up interior lineman that filled in admirably on the line at the end of the season before hitting RFA. Groy started 7 games over the next two seasons after the Bills matched his offer sheet. Here's what we had to say about it at the time for comparison:
  8. He's getting paid less than Vernon Butler when he signed here. I'm tempering expectations when this regime hasn't proven they can identify quality free agent DTs. Star, Butler, and Jefferson all under performed their contracts.
  9. Heading into the draft I would put them a smidge above NE for 2nd in the division. We'll see if Tua can stay healthy
  10. He had a weird season with Cleveland last year. Coaching staff had a tough time deciding whether to sit an injured Baker, play Keenum, they even resorted to playing Mullens over both of them at one point. They must feel just as confident with Mullens to fill in for a suspended Watson this season. Reading what Browns fans have to say and they are pretty similar talents but Mullens is cheaper. Edit: Nvm, see they signed Brissett
  11. We had two 7ths originally. Ours and Atlanta's, so now we're down to 1.
  12. Was speculated that we may go after him this offseason.
  13. Would've been a great add. Assume he is getting a nice deal after last year's season.
  14. Yeah I was unsure about that as well, but it has been done in the past. See Trent Williams https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/trent-williams-6513/ Still somewhat likely there will be dead cap hits added in the later years of the deal assuming they restructure in 2023 or 24. Edit: Signing bonus can only be spread over a max of 5 years, interesting: "Players receive a signing bonus upon signing their contract with a team and it is fully guaranteed. The player usually receives payment in the first year after signing with a team. The team can pay the player the whole amount at once or spread the payments out over the length of the contract to reserve cap space. This is known as a “prorated bonus” and a team can spread the payment out over a maximum of five years. However if the team cuts the player it must pay the full amount outstanding reducing their cap space." https://en.as.com/en/2021/02/25/nfl/1614214446_974122.html#:~:text=The player usually receives payment,a maximum of five years.
  15. Thanks for the link, a timely article to come out today! All teams will have a lot of money to play with then, hopefully we can lure and retain talent of the years while we're in SB contention.
  16. If this is accurate, then an excellent job by Beane. I was expecting worse
  17. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Important contract note for Deshaun Watson, who got a 5-year, $230M contract. His base salary for 2022 is $1M, which means if he’s suspended, it’ll come out of that base. People were making a big deal about the Packers potentially allocating ~40% of their cap space to Rodgers and Adams. With this contract detail, it appears that the last 4 years of Deshaun's deal could all be $50M+ cap hits, unless I'm understanding this wrong? This isn't like the Mahomes deal either where they can stretch out the signing bonus over 8-10 years. Garrett will make an average of $29M/yr over those 4 years. ~$80M+/year tied up into two (great) players, and no first round picks for the next 3 drafts. They and a lot of teams must be hoping for substantial, consistent salary cap increases the next 5 years, which could very well be the case. This deal absolutely makes them better, but if Watson is suspended for any notable amount of time this season then their playoff hopes could be over with how competitive the AFC will be. And then from 2023-26 they may be hamstrung financially and by their lack of 1st round rookie talent on the roster. Should be interesting, especially if they find a way to **** it all up.
  18. Just looked him up. I would sign up for that https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jack-coan/3200434f-4157-5781-fd08-bec7b15a9bc4
  19. Take care of business and get the 1 seed and be two home wins away from the SB. Do that and it doesn't really matter how deep the AFC is. The final 4 in the conference will be good teams regardless. The AFC Wild card round may legit be more competitive than the NFC Championship game. Crazy to think about.
  20. Any strong armed rookie QBs available in like the 5th round this year? Need to develop a cheap back-up that can at least throw a 10 yard out
  21. I would've just made it clear from the start that if he wanted out then they would only negotiate with NFC teams.
  22. He went to the place where he could boost his tiktok following the most.
  23. Lmao the one AFC team in the running. Texans are truly incompetent.
