  1. Depends on the situation. I remember a couple years ago the Cards were like 8-1 and then Palmer went down to a torn ACL. No one thought Philly would get a 1st for Bradford. The Texans could have one of the best rosters in the league but are relying on Tom Savage and Watson. Taylor's 2017 salary is low for a starting QB as well. New team would be on the hook for 7.5M IIRC (or less if pro-rated). This isn't like trying to trade Tony Romo's deal last year.
  2. The way I understand the comp system though, is that if they are paid for their services beyond week 10 then it counts as an accrued season. An injury settlement pays them for the amount of time until they are healthy. If they aren't healthy until the end of the year, then we'd be paying their full season salary. If there is that loophole it seems shady.
  3. His health. Concussions have derailed many players careers across many sports. Showcase that he's healthy and in the right circumstances could play good enough football to take a team to the playoffs. Doesn't turn the football over, helps improve the run game, good TD:INT ratio, etc. He's not great but neither is Sam Bradford and he landed Philly a 1st rounder. I think a team with a good roster and a ? at QB whether it be injury or performance would give up a 2nd for Taylor if he proves he's healthy. JMO
  4. Denver, Houston, Arizona, Minnesota are the first few that pop to mind when I think of playoff caliber rosters with either questionable QB play or injury prone QBs. Hopefully Taylor can get back on the field soon to show he's healthy. If Peterman is gonna be thrown into the fire the Jets at home is the best case scenario.
  5. Kinda Surprised he said it out loud. What happens if the guys we want to release by week 10 (Ducasse/Davis/Holmes) suffer a season ending injury before then? Jay Skurski‏ Verified account @JaySkurski 1h1 hour agoMore McDermott says the compensatory draft pick formula is "something we're aware of." The team will keep an eye on it, he says. #Bills 1 reply1 retweet0 likes Reply 1 Retweet 1 Like
  6. I think they are hoping to showcase Tyrod the first half of the season and are waiting for a playoff contender to come down with an injured/underachieving QB. And then trade him for more picks. Same deal with Shady if they're willing to deal with the dead money.
  7. We should be rooting for the Bills, whoever is playing the Chiefs, whoever is playing the Rams, and whoever is playing the Iggles. So at least 4 teams weekly. Gonna be a busy season.
  8. This has the same feeling of when Chip Kelly cleaned house with the Eagles.
  9. Don't most above average offenses score lots on bad defenses though? That's not really a legit criticism when talking about offensive rankings.
  10. Yea it's bizarre. The Miller/Ducasse situation is a glaring concern when it comes to this FO's team building priorities. This. In hindsight probably should have promoted Schwartz instead of getting Rex and switching schemes... again.
  11. Maybe Luck's injury is worse then they're letting on, hence adding another QB
  12. Rudolph hasn't impressed me in the games I've watched of him so far. Would prefer Allen over him at this point.
  13. I haven't read through the entire thread and not sure if it has been brought up or not but... Peterman's velocity at the combine was higher than Taylors (53 mph vs 50). Taylor can of course throw a nice deep ball but he too often doesn't get enough zip on his throws imo. If Peterman can anticpate throws and read defenses better than Taylor (not setting the bar high there), then he could end up finding some success I think.
  14. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000799336/article/mike-mayocks-2017-nfl-draft-position-rankings-30 Notable changes: QB- Kizer falls to 4th from 1st WR- Davis falls to 3rd from 1st OT- Robinson moved from #2 OG to #1 OT CB- Conley now rated #2 S- Peppers falls to 3rd from 1st
  15. Peppers definitely fits McD's scheme as a hybrid SS/LB, just hope that if they end up drafting him they trade down. As a comp, here's a blurb on Carolina's 1st round pick 2 years ago, Shaq Thompson: Sound familiar? Thompson was more productive in college though.
  16. New agent. May change some things. Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet Follow More Ian Rapoport Retweeted CSE Talent FA LB Zach Brown with new representation… and he’s slated to visit the #Bills, his former team, after he leaves the #Dolphins.
  17. I think a true Weakside LB is a big need. And while he wouldn't be my first choice in Rd. 1, Peppers does seem to be a great fit as a SS/Will LB in McDermott's scheme.
  18. Yea he seems to be the odd man out unless Wood is cut. But wouldn't be shocked if they hung onto all the o-linemen the first month of the season (until Henderson is eligible.) before cutting/IR'ing someone. Have an extra roster spot to play with this year since Hauscha can kickoff and do FGs. I'll pencil him in until someone else beats him out. Henderson is suspended, Kujo is recovering from hip surgery, Ducasse sucks, have arguably bigger needs in the draft. He's the logical choice right now.
  19. ^ That's why it was smart for Buffalo to wait to match so that it deters other teams from offering our RFAs offer sheets. By doing so their hands are tied with regards to other FAs/trade targets and they miss out. Glad to have Groy back, but we have a lot of O-linemen now. Starting 5+ Groy+ Lewis+ Ducasse+ Kujo+ Henderson (suspended for start of year so it buys us an extra roster spot for the first month or so). Maybe they keep 9 to start the year and someone gets injured by the time Henderson gets back? Dunno.
  20. Sooo Zach Brown signing somewhere for a big salary pretty much guarantees this?
  21. I'd make it a 2 yr deal since he is most likely on PUP or IR next season with low guaranteed money in the 2nd year but with incentives based on games played.
