  1. Your probably thinking of the 2016 game when the Raiders won 38-24 and rolled through Buffalo in the second half
  2. Agreed. The FG attempt from 55 was playing scared, the conservativeness of the offense was scared, the lack of aggression from the defense was not to lose, etc.. I really hated the fact after two weeks of being aggressive and attacking they played not to lose and it bit them in the butt.
  3. I remember that one. I think the Bills got off like an 80 yard punt thanks to wind and roll. Yea that game was so disappointing. The only reason I wouldn't say worst in a decade is Darues was out in the 2nd half along with I think Manny Lawson and one other player. The defense legitimately lost some teeth and the Raiders took advantage enough.
  4. After yesterday's disaster of a loss that made you want to go crazy I wanted to do a therapeutic look at other times we have collapsed brilliantly. The Bills have created an incredible habit of losing games in late November/December that are utterly soul crushing, frustrating to the point you want to throw your TV, OR both at the same point. Here is a fun recap of some tremendous losses going back to 2010: Nov 28th 2010: Steelers 19-16 OT over Bills. The famous Stevie "Why God" Drop game that I am still seeing a therapist to this day about. Seriously it was awful. Nov 27th 2011: Jets 28-24 over Bills. Stevie drop 2.0 as Fitz hits him in the hands in a must win game to keep their playoff chances alive and he drops it. Also was the game he got a 15 yard PF for being a Jet and crashing Jan 1st 2011: Pats 49-21 over Bills. Buffalo race out to a 21-0 lead over their hated rivals giving Bills fans some comfort to finally beat NE hard in their own building...Only to only 49 unanswered points. This wasn't madding as much as just pure embarrassing. Dec 9th 2012: Rams 15-12 over Bills. Similar to the previous two weeks the Bills hold a slim lead and the defense blows it after playing shutdown throughout the game. In this game Buffalo had slim playoff hopes if they won and allowed Sam Bradford who went just 19/39 to go 84 yards after holding the Rams all day to win. The Bills preceded to get blown out by Seattle the next week up in Seattle effectively ending Chan Gailey's coaching tenure. Dec 1st 2013: Falcons 34-31 OT over Bills. The last game mercifully in the Toronto series ends in utter heartache making you want to throw you TV after the Bills blow a 14-0 lead, 31-24 lead in the 4th, Stevie Johnson fumbles on the game winning drive on the ATL 30 when they were in FG range with 28 seconds left tied, and then Scott Chandler fumbles on the second play of overtime at mid field to give ATL the ball who scores on a FG. The definition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Dec 21st 2014: Raiders 26-24 over Bills . A week after a massive upset of the Packers to go to 8-6 and be solid positioning for the playoffs the Bills lose to a crappy Raiders team in Oakland. The Bills defense got hit with injuries, but the game swinging play happens on 3rd & 22 at Oakland's 19 when Corey Graham goes for the INT instead of batting the ball away from recent Bills Andre Holmes who gets a 51 yard completion and putting the Raiders in FG range. The Bills can't stop the Raiders who score a TD ending the Bills playoff hopes. This was a massive let down after such a huge high the week before. Nov 29th 2015: Chiefs 30-22 over Bills. The Jaguar game early the season was worse but this game was also pretty bad and fits the criteria. Buffalo blows a 10-0 lead and 16-7 lead in the first half to fall behind 24-16 in the 3rd. The Bills offense after lighting it up with Sammy Watkins in the 1st half stops for some reason throwing to him and the Bills defense can't stop a beachball allowing 7 consecutive drives where the Chiefs score or miss a FG after the Bills go up 10-0. Dec 13th 2015: Eagles 23-20 over Bills . Bills playoff chances die despite out-gaining the Eagles 412-348 and controlling the clock for nearly 10 mins more. Buffalo was the better team but like yesterday too many mistakes kill them. Dec 24th 2016: Dolphins 34-31 OT over Bills. The famous Rex punt game which the Bills had to win to keep their playoff chances alive. This ruined Xmas eve for many families as the Bills punt on 4th and 2 on at mid field and then allow J. Ajayi to go 57 yards with just 10 men on the field. Making things even worse before this the Bills rallied hard after being down 14-0 and take the lead 31-28 with only 1:20 left when Miami's Andrew Franks hits a 55 yard FG in the weather. Two Dan Carpenter FG's cost the Bills a chance for victory. Editors Note **2017 the Bills somehow make the playoffs and win all of these insanely close games that make you pull your hair out. That happened** 2018: Back to back weeks the offense gives the defense the lead and the defense blows it. Take you pick for which was more frustrating, for me the Jets was worse because of how long the team had the lead and the fact the defense wilted so badly in the clutch.
  5. My wife and I went to school at SUNY Oswego. We met alottttt of Jets fans and their arrogance made them top 3 in my hated teams list only behind Pittsburgh & New England. I am fine with them suffering in misery forever.
  6. Uhhhhhh Petermans been gone for like weeks did you wake up out of like a comatose or something
  7. I have no sympathy. You have went to a Superbowl 3x in the last two decades or so. You've had two of the best QBs ever and with Rodgers managed to waste a portion of his prime. Overall fans of any other team would die to have a quarter of what packer fans have had for over two decades running. Now football wise? McCarthy didn't seem to have the stuff anymore and I think his message got stale. The team has too many high priced vets like Cobb and Matthews that don't make enough of impact worth keeping. The Packers remind me of the Saints during that period they went 7-9 for a bit where they had to retool in a bunch of places on defense and refit the offense. I think the Packers have more pieces and they have a better cap situation then the Saints did so they should be able to turn it faster. The bigger issue could be the Pack didn't take advantage when the Bears and Vikings were down during the early to mid 2010's. Both team are ready to win now with ferocious defenses designed to slow offense like GB. All of that said the Packers should have the ability to comeback hard next year in my eyes and anything less then one more SB appearance for Rodgers with the Pack seems like a failure during his end here.
  8. This is a pretty misguided post. Atlanta has a down year because the defense literally lost half their secondary and their best linebacker plus a few other injuries. Quinn at minimum has one more season for sure if not more. They have a lot of talent and their going to add a bluechip pass rusher this draft. If anything Atlanta is just stocking up. I'd love Julio but trading one of your best players who helps make that offense go is just not happening.
  9. Yep BPA. If it turns out Ed Oliver is there and we are at 10 fine take him or if someone else wants him take the picks and run. The last two drafts the Bills have got starters on the following so I trust their drafting: 2017: Tre White, Zay Jones, Dawkins, & Milano 2018 Edmunds, Teller, Allen, & T. Johnson I'd like to see what they could do with a few second and thirds instead of trading them.
  10. Love the hope and enthusiasm this would be great. That said even if he has a 10-12 year run where his ceiling is Flacco/Alex Smith esq he will most likely break Kelly's records given how the league is so passing driven. Remember Jim back in the day topped out around 23-25 TD's thrown with one season at 33 TDs. For that time it was impressive, today that is basically average for a QB so if Allen even has two seasons at 30 TDs or above he will move pretty quick towards Jim. Plus Jim had 3 years in the USFL that took away probably 40-45 TDs he would've got in the NFL. I think Jim himself would love to be the second best Bills QB and in the end the records Allen truly will be judged on will be Wins, playoffs, and hopefully the SB. A SB title mixed with even Flacco/Smith numbers and he'd be a god regardless.
  11. Yea its kinda funny that it took until mid season for the team to add Anderson/Barkley, Foster, McKenzie, and start Teller at G. But all of those things really seemed to help the offense settle down. I am very nervous with Bodine out though about the line. They had stabilized to not being atrocious and I thought Bodine actually had been pretty decent. Groy has not done well this year and Siriles was rated atrocious by PFF in place of Miller. Need to hope the last bunch of games the line can hold itself to not implode.
  12. lol I loved Florence but are they like out of people to lead the charge he is not a big name haha
  13. Jaguars defense is legit (better then NE) and he did well against them. I am very excited to see how Allen does against BB.
  14. From what I have read the Dolphins did adjust the problem is he is so fast they still couldn't contain him if pressure got through. Probably the biggest chance to throw him off would be a heavy blitz that keeps him in pocket that forces him to throw. His accuracy is still just about 60% so that could be a thing. I am excited though (can't believe I am saying that) for his game against NE because he is so dam competitive I would love nothing more then for him to get a chance to lead a game winning drive again and to see him in that place in that situation.
  15. I have been waiting a while to say much on Allen because I really hate over reacting one way or another. After the Packers loss I was ready to draft Tua in 2020 and after this last weekend I wanted to buy his jersey and fight anyone who said a poor word about him. For the record I was team Rosen going into the draft so I never really had bias for Allen other then once we got him I just hoped he did well. So now that I have hit back to base point here are some thoughts Pre Injury, Post, and what more I'd like to see: Pre Injury: -His arm certainly was explosive and I liked his willingness to throw deep... but his accuracy really was all over -His pocket presence was OK... but he rarely went through his progressions before jumping -His feet showed to be a great weapon... but he was running far too much out of pocket especially in the Packers game which a portion could be contributed to O line -His competitiveness certainly showed.. but running the offense he did seem very green and unsettled at times -During his first five and half games he had some good plays such as the Vikings hurdle or the deep throw against LAC to Foster.. but the bad were really numerous -His running play did help gain yards.. but he put himself in really dangerous plays to get hurt Post Injury: -He is getting better at reigning that arm in. He missed Foster deep Sunday, but he hit Foster the week before and his intermediate throws are certainly more on point then before. The Deonte Thompson drop against the Jags was a great show of Allen looking downfield and finding his guy. He still needs to polish off his accuracy, but he in my eyes has moved to the next level of be average enough to not be a liability accuracy wise like before. -His pocket presence is my favorite improvement. In both games he is going through his reads far better, stepping up more and looking for a play, and overall feeling where he needs to be. He still takes off sometimes a little too early but his improv ability is also a strength so its going to be some bad for some good -I like the fact he seems far more in control and comfortable with the offense. You watch and can see it is his offense and he is doing it on his terms. That takes time for a QB to learn/gain confidence wise and it feels like now he is part of the flow not just trying to conduct it through the plays by Daboll. (Also Kudos for Daboll with his scheme and plays) -Pre Injury it felt like you'd see 3 or 4 three and outs before you might get an ok drive mixed with maybe a decent play. Now the offense while not great certainly has some teeth thanks to the speed added at WR and Allen now making more plays consistently. He is not perfect in both the Jags and Phins games he left plays out there, but he is putting good plays together far more frequent that it gives the team a chance to score regularly. -He finally is learning to slide or get out early thank god. What I want to see: So these last two weeks have brought some pretty big development by Allen which obviously we want to keep seeing. I want to see him keep making the offense his. Even if you are not Tom Brady and your Alex Smith or someone in that vain who is decent they still bring some standard of what their offense is and how they run it for better or worse. Allen is building his mold of a guy who can throw for big chunks while beating you if you give him the chance with his legs. Good, if he is comfortable with that then keep doing it and refine it so the good plays become even more numerous while limiting the bad. I would like to still see a few more deep passes called a game, last game was Foster and Clay from what I remember. Defenses already are on notice now because of his skill set, it behooves the Bills not to keep being aggressive and attacking which would take some pressure off the o line. I would like to see him keep staying in pocket a little more. He still needs to learn his accuracy on throws and while the scrambling is exciting and does have big plays, learning to make the plays in pocket will keep him healthier and is more dependable long term. Overall Allen's growth and play has me waiting now for each Sunday with excitement which is massive improvement compared to seasons start. I actually said watching the game that I can't wait to see the offense next year with a bit more talent now that Allen is finding his way because it already is really fun with how he competes. As always and respectfully my .02
  16. Correct but that was also the AFL tribute year and I was going off since they introduced it as an official alternate in 2012. Otherwise we could also include the Bills throwback blues they wore from 2005-2010 which they also had pretty good success in. AND that was the freakin McKelvin fumble game which I have actively tried to burn out of my mind lol
  17. I actually like the blues better idk why probably just preferance but I wish they wore the blues and whites once apiece
  18. Since 2012 the Bills have been wearing the white away throwbacks. 2011 they had their new redesign and just wore that, before that between 2005-2010 they wore the blue throwbacks which I actually prefer over these. Here is their record and your correct they typically play well in those: 2018: Week 11 W Jags (home) 2017: Week 8 W Oakland (home) Week 17 W Miami (away) 2016: Week 8 L New England (home) 2015: Week 1 W Indy (home) 2014: Week 2 W Miami (home) 2013: Week 2 W Carolina (home) 2012: Week 14 L St Louis (home) Overall: 6-2
  19. KC was not "low cost" tax payers spent $375 million which is around 1/2 the cost of a new stadium. It still is really expensive and that was in 2010 dollars.
  20. Most studies agree with this and basically state it has to be incredibly well planned out to have a shot to give the taxpayers a payback. That is IF they do a new stadium its gotta be indoors because the study in 2014 by NYS said it basically doubles your usage from 20-30 events to 50-70. I still believe the stadium is going into a master project downtown with both arena's and the development they have which can work and not completely screw tax payers given the amount of activity. But yea a new outdoor stadium just seems foolish and were better off renovating for real.
  21. I don't need him to be a #1 WR. I need him to be a solid #2 option. With teams running 3 WR sets all the time I want to him to be one of those 3 which he seems to be doing as the deep threat. Zay seems to have found his way as a slot guy so we just need a big guy to run the ladder outside like KB was suppose to have done.
  22. Dabol seems pretty progressive scheme wise with what he wants the Jets game and Vikings show what he can do with any form of talent. I am willing to give him that opportunity to prove himself the next year or so which if it works credits McD. BUT... yea the league is soo offensively driven the D/conservative guys better be ready to adjust and I would hire an offensive type guy if I was an owner.
  23. Their literally is a difference with some stripping and the helmet color. Your nostalgia is showing
  24. The jerseys a very similar to those the striping is a little different that is. It has been covered in length why the red helmets are not returning due to the NFLs one shell rule.
  25. The greatest sign of how good the defense is was the MNF game. I at no point feared Brady because they played so well and basically said if we had any offense we could've/should've won. I have not been able to say that at virtually any point since Brady came minus a select weird game here or there like the 2015 MNF game strikes me as one of those. But Brady carved us up week 2 so it felt more false then.
