  1. I've generally been a supporter of McDermott - but that last series yesterday was SO BAD. As soon as JA was in shotgun formation, my jaw just dropped. That SEEMED aggressive, but it was actually playing scared. He didn't trust the defense to hold Houston w/ maybe 20 seconds left and no timeouts.
  2. Refs HAVE to give KC a token hold call once in a blue moon...
  3. I thought this would be a tough game for the Chiefs. Doesn't look like it so far.
  4. Reid really does do a nice job w/ that offense. They don't have much right now - really, their top 2 WR's are out, as is their top RB, and Kelce & Hunt are both older & slower. And yet they still make it work. I'm happy for Reid, because he's likable and really turned things around from when he was in Philly. But I do strongly dislike KC.
  5. In previous years? True. There is no rule though. Players and teams lose to other players and teams, until they don't. Jordan couldn't get past the Celtics, then the Pistons, until he did. Manning couldn't get past the Pats, until he did.
  6. Why wouldn't we offer up a 2nd? We have plenty of picks next year. I'd hate to hear that we "just lost out" because we weren't quite aggressive enough.
  7. I'm not sure how anyone can choose anything aside from getting the title.
  8. The overreactions on this thread & board right now border on comical. While it isn't all "we're fine," we lost on a long FG w/ regulation expiring, on the road, to a top team. I feel like people just started watching the game. The Ravens game was bad, but everyone knows we were starting to roll until that trick play. I can probably go back and look at the last 20 Super Bowl finalists, and find much worse losses & stretches in their regular season for most of them than what we've had here.
  9. It's football. Practically every game comes down to a few plays. What if Brady doesn't call the trick play last week? What if we don't pass 3x yesterday? We can beat anyone. I'll stand by that.
  10. Hereditary The Vigil (kind of obscure, but I would recommend for anyone into the genre) Blair Witch Project Nightmare on Elm Street
  11. Honestly, the HC should be making the call on the overall strategy for the last series. It would be hard to believe that it was Brady's call alone. I would hope they at least discussed it, even if it was Brady's idea initially.
  12. This year feels like our best opportunity w/ Allen yet. Not because of our team - but because the rest of the AFC and really the league as a whole just isn't all that. There is no one I think we aren't able to beat on a good day. It's why Beane should get aggressive on the WR market. That feels like the only thing that could hold us back.
  13. That's kind of extreme. The Texans are probably the 2nd best team in the AFC and they needed a 60 yard FG to beat us.
  14. He's at worst a top 10 GM. I think I saw him ranked 6th in a recent poll. It's easy to focus on the misses and mistakes, but overall, his drafts have been really solid, and he's decent enough in FA. The one area I would critique is giving some players better contracts than they deserve.
  15. I'd give up a 3rd in a heartbeat for Adams. I'd give up a 2nd if they took on all or most of his contract.
  16. Gotta go 4-1 over this stretch. 5-0 would be great, but 3-2 would be a missed opportunity. The schedule gets harder after that.
  17. Eh - I still say we're as good as anyone this year. The league is very average right now.
  18. Of course. They came back to tie the game...no?
  19. He looks great to me. Yesterday was rough, but he had more pressure on him than usual, a few bad drops by the WR's, and guys didn't seem to be getting open. Literally 2 weeks ago, he was consensus MVP to that point of the season.
  20. That has to lead the league.
  21. We were down 20-3 to one of the better teams in the league, on the road. Once again, we came out of the half looking like a different team. The defense made some key plays - the stop on 4th down, the pick by Bernard, and generally getting the stops we needed to keep the game close and give the offense a chance. Overall, outside of the long TD, the defense actually held it down well all day. It was a great road comeback, and it's all we'd be talking about today if the coaching staff didn't let the team down on that last series. I thought calling 3 passes there really disrespected the effort that the whole team made to get that game back to a tie. We had the momentum at that point - we just needed to get to OT, and it's likely our outlook would be very different today.
  22. This is part of fandom, and what makes it so great in a way. Think of Red Sox fans who had to wait from 1918 to 2004. Obviously, a lot of them never even saw a title, but in 2004, that was about as blissful a feeling as a fan could have. There is something to be said for enduring epic heartbreak before you finally break through. Personally, I love the journey. I'd probably be more discouraged if we didn't have Allen, but that guy is going to get a ring, and it keeps me hoping.
  23. My happiness with Brady will increase exponentially if he starts to realize that you can actually throw a pass on 1st down.
  24. We have a close game problem. It really does seem to be a "tightness" thing at times. The coaching just botched that last series yesterday. It felt like panic.
  25. I'm kind of curious if he's already done that - he looked a lot bigger to me yesterday, but that's just an observation watching on TV.
