The Jets are really a woeful organization. I didn't think Saleh was necessarily a great or good coach, but he has had some bad circumstances & firing him when they did was ridiculous (imo). I mean, how'd that work out for them? Their season is pretty close to over at this point. They just seem in complete disarray. I actually feel bad for their fans - but not the franchise or ownership.

10/20/24 Game 7 GAMEDAY Bills vs Titans post game thread
Success replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Watching some highlights - I have no idea how Codrington stayed on his feet during the kick-off return that started our 1st scoring drive. The player on the coverage team picked him up and spun him around, and he just landed on his feet and kept going. Incredible balance. And that return really gave us a spark when we needed it. -

I had to travel yesterday, so only watched the 1st half. I was pretty bummed about how we looked, and was thinking that I was overrating this team in my own head & that they were pretty average (at best). It's crazy that it was 10-7 at the half, and we ended up winning 34-10. That's as dramatic as turnarounds get. One thing that I have to credit the coaching staff with - they make good halftime adjustments. We've really seen this all season, where we can look pretty bad in the 1st half and then come out looking like a different team in the 2nd. -
KC vs. Buffalo's record a microcosm of the Allen/Mahomes debate

Thanks. Emotion got the best of me. -
KC vs. Buffalo's record a microcosm of the Allen/Mahomes debate

They are. They are better run & better coached. I don't think that's disputable. -
When are football fans going to understand: football is a TEAM GAME. In fact, there are 53 players on each team, as well as coaches. All contribute to a team's success and failure. Here we have KC at 6-0, and Buffalo at 5-2. Allen has 15 TD's and no INT's. Patrick Mahomes LEADS THE LEAGUE IN INT's. And people will still say "Mahomes wins more than Allen," as though we're talking about tennis or golf. Clearly, Mahomes has the best coaching in the league - and they're proving that by an undefeated season when they have lost their top 2 WR's and top RB, and w/ their QB having a fairly pedestrian season. Allen often has to actually overcome some of his team's coaching blunders. It's rare that coaching helps him out & wins a game even when he's not at his best. That happens quite a bit w/ Mahomes.

6-0, but not passing the eye test. San Fran had Kittle left from their starting weapons today, and KC still needed Purdy to hand the game to them. We're a better team this year.

We'll probably beat them. Not that beating KC in the regular gives me much excitement anymore - but they have a pretty flawed team.

SF fans have to be so disappointed w/ Aiyuk. He gets all that money, and plays like a #4.

I'm still a noon to midnight guy on Sundays - but it's not as fun as it used to be. There just aren't as many interesting games; I'm not sure if that's because some rivalries like Pats/Colts or Cowboys/Giants are over and haven't really been replaced, or if the quality is down. The only games I'm really invested in are our games, and sometimes KC if they're in a close game. The Ravens a little because they are probably the biggest AFC competition this year. Not really anything in the NFC.

Jerry Jones gets snippy during radio interview.

Kraft is having that same issue w/ Belichick right now. The egos on these guys. -

This was completely uncalled for. What an arrogant, out-of-touch jerk. I remember after the SB's in the nineties - he thought he was some kind of genius. Since then, he has given a clinic on "meddling owners" and their negative impact on teams. -
The difference between the Bills and Chiefs is Chris Jones.

Bernard is getting close, and Groot is also a step away from being that. Possibly Kincaid, too, though this season has been underwhelming so far. -

They probably do overall. Getting McDuffie really tipped the scales - especially w/ Elam being a back-up these days. Beane has done alright, though. More hits than misses, and he has excelled in the later rounds. -
So about the refs tonight UPDATE: Rams game discussion on page 14

Yep - JA is a good flopper, which I don't mind, because we do get some flags from that. But I thought both that roughing call and obviously Epenesa's were bad calls. Things did even out in that game in terms of the bad officiating, imo - I thought Jets fans had as many legit gripes as we did. Both teams had 11 penalties for similar yards - probably should have been closer to 5 or 6 penalties per team. -
More mustard as I get older. Ketchup is too sweet for me these days - I still use it on burgers, though. Everything else is mustard, except fries - I go with mayo.

I doubt we were ever considering Worthy. By season's end (and with Cooper's addition), we'll get more out of Coleman than we would have w/ a speedster like Worthy. And I think Worthy is better for the Chiefs. But he will end up being more one-dimensional/gadgety, and we needed a guy who could potentially blossom into a true #1 or at worst 1b. With Cooper & the injuries to Rice and Brown, the Bills now have a significantly better WR room than the Chiefs. They're built to handle the playoffs and all of the teams you mentioned. I don't know how it will go this year, and Buffalo could certainly bow out by the divisional yet again, but I think it's a pretty middlin' year for the league in general and it's probably our best opportunity yet, if not our best team. We have as much of a chance as the Chiefs this year, imo. I get that KC is undefeated, but the optics haven't been quite as good as usual, and I don't think that WR corps is going to do it for them in January. They have the "aura" factor which is always an advantage, but the Ravens are a better team than both the Chiefs & Bills, who are relatively equal (and I'd say on the same level as Houston, also). Most of the playoff games between those teams will probably come down to a play or 2. -

It for sure was in January. Generally, I'd probably agree also - we have some nice pieces on defense, but no one who consistently disrupts the way Jones can. -
I thought of him the other night. That guy was so physical - he & Rapp have very similar styles.

Bills (still) bringing in kickers for tryout: Brayden Narveson

Gotta admit - it's a bummer watching the offense get to the 35, and still think that we need at least 10 more yards for a makeable FG attempt.... -
10/14/24 Game 6 Bills at (NJ) Jets MNF Post Game thread
Success replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gotta say - w/ all of the craziness & bad reffing in that game, it was probably the most satisfying victory in awhile. Not only did it seem improbable for stretches of the game, but just the fact that we could have been tied w/ the Jets, and now we're in command in the division. I loved that win. Still feeling good. -
It wasn't all bad - worst moment was the long Nico TD. A rookie is going to make mistakes, but if he starts the rest of the season, hopefully a lot of stuff would be ironed out by the playoffs. Fortune favors the bold.
